Finished watching the stream.
I don't think IGA wants to change Bloodless boss fight intro for "censorship reasons" but more from his art direction perspective. Bayonetta's intro is way more aggressive than this IMO.
Gameplay-wise, familiars are interesting, weapons are cool, this segment looks very fun in total. Visual-wise it's already pretty good in a whole, the texture on the background objects are extremely detailed, but foreground objects (like actual platforms) are a little bit bland in comparison, and some other details like the bell crushing need more polishing. Miriam's idle animation with weapons are cool, but she might need more animation frames while in action, I do like to see scarf floating in the wind while she's running.
Can't wait for alpha build.

I believe the alpha build we're getting in August is different from what they're showing at E3, maybe with more content and polishing.

estebant thank you =) Scars Unseen i remember you talking about the shading process. I think you already know, but, as a reminder, the shader options was voted by the backers and non-backers. Long time ago, we had shader options, and they could combine or not. In the end, two different shaders on, one specific for characters and a second one for the scenario and background. I wanted to talk something about our already beloved Vampire Lady Bloodless. First, it would be good if Bloodstained Bosses could have a bit more lore, scenes and dialogue. It would be fun. Bloodless and Vepar have awesome designs to be just "whateaver" bosses. Now, what i really wanted to talk about is...Does anyone remember about the BOSS REVENGE MODE? They described it as this: -Control several different bosses -Utilize their special attacks to wreak havok -Explore a new BOSS REVENGE area -Turn the tables and defeat “Hero” Bosses in your pursuit of humanity's destructionThey clearly say "different bosses" so, that means we will not control ALL bosses, right?, since some of them, like Vepar, doesn't fit a gameplay area, since they said that there will be a Boss Revenge Area. I am the only one that thinks Bloodless was created, among other things, to be USED at the Boss Revenge Area? I would LOVE to play with her! I'm pretty sure she is going to be playable, mechanically speaking Bloodless doesn't fight like a boss, she fights just like Miriam. She can run freely around the stage, jump and control how much time she stays on air, horizontal weapon swing, backdash, throw projectiles with a hand wave and point her umbrella + aim it up and down. She will likely follow the same control scheme that Miriam has. Hell, she even has a flinching/staggering animation when getting hit for no reason (The only castlevania bosses that do that are playable characters), she might already be playable to some extent. Take another closer look at her I noticed that the blood dress she's wearing is actually bleeding(?) from her throat... That's something badass.

"looks slow"me: You're slow (No I didn't actually say that lol) I really didn't expect this so soon. Looks pretty good. That boss song for Carmil--uh, blood lady sounds like a Yamada track to me... so much new stuff Neogaf in a nutshell. Lol "They went for that slower castlevania/floaty jumpy feel vs SotN's more fluid control style. " Someone please tell the user the jumps and running animations and speed are almost virtually the same between the two games. Slow ( the demo felt absolutely perfect and totally in line with igavania's but okay ) and the graphics don't look good like 2d. I want it to look like Hollow Night. I would love for them to show me an example of a game with the depth of an IGAVANIA that has Hollow Night's graphics. Let's see how many examples they can list. anyways, it looked like she had a different scarf on and she also does a double jump in there ( nothing visually unique about it but hey! ). We get our first look at a familiar too. That's the youtube comment section in a nutshell too... I didn't know why people are comparing this with Hollow Knight. They might play the same at surface but at core Hollow Knight is Metroid, a pure action-based game. Igavania like BS have RPG elements like leveling system... equipment... now even with crafting system. Not mentioning while Hollow Knight started its Kickstarter it's already in the basic form (like what we've had now), then it still took them two and a half year to finally release that game. Hollow Knight still doesn't have the "second playable character" the kickstarter campaign is promising as for now, Team Cherry might add that into the game later as free DLC. I mean, come on... we're still in a very early stage...

HYPE! Oh god... another glamorous beauty... let me just sunk into that blood bath... I can't tell whose voice is though... *cough* While effects still need polishing but I can see the game is shaping up! That castle part is particularly interesting We might call this "alpha stage"? Once the team got the core system settled down? EDIT: And again, browsing youtube comment section is not recommended. EDIT AGAIN: Oh I forget to mention the new music track! Seems like Ms. Yamane has her full power on metal? Or it's Mr.Yamada's track? anyway, dat drums man...

Actually I'm not interested in this until I saw the trailer, but I'm definitely going to try this out (and also replay Castlevania III if it needs to). You know it's gonna be something special while IGA says it's promising

In shoutbox: I really love the personality of DICO's Director, he behaves very very professional while answering technical questions, but at the end it reveals that he's also a big gamer who respects and loves IGA's work. On the graphics/visual side: I've been very critical about the village's visual since it's revealed, but this time I found it's significantly better. The old version gives me a sense that the image was going to "tear apart" (mostly due to the color I believe), the new version (especially in motion) everything blends extremely well and delivered a demolish feeling in a whole. Inside the ship, the first thing that I noticed is the devs toned down the brightness, now the ship got more sense of space (the "squeezyness" lol). Seama looks more shady too, which is a good thing for monsters. As CastleDan and freddythemonkey had mentioned before, everything is kinda stiff now, but I doubt we might see any environment interaction until the game in its final stage. We still got plenty of time though, and we got very talented teams behind the project. Can't wait for E3! Also shout out to staffs at Fangamer and Mana as always, thanks for all these hard work! Finally got some time to play this, so it's basically Binding of Isaac with metroidvania elements (obviously lol). Control is extremely tight and fluent which makes combat very enjoyable. Graphic is pretty good, some effects are similar to Axiom Verge. In short, a solid rogue-like metroidvania.

Okay, after 20hrs-ish into this game, I'd say I really, really loved it so far. Maybe the same level that I love SoTN. That map problem sure is somewhat painful, but solvable, if you can't find the map dealer in an area just beat the boss, return to the town and buy that map. Also if you've already found him, he shows up every time until you beat that area's boss. This makes the situation a lot more better than before. He even left his trace behind!
With that resolved, now I can adore this game wholeheartly. The whole bizarre and beautiful world, the poetic yet mysterious narrative, gorgeous design, tons upon tons of secrets... very easy to lost yourself in. Control is tight, battle and platforming is challenging but fair. There are some rage quits while playing, but it's mostly because I'm mad at myself that I'm not good enough. Everything about this game feels just right. Top-notch metroidvania, definitely would to play it again after finish my first run.
Can't wait to see speedrun for this.

I'm Asian and an otaku when it comes to Japanese culture. I have nothing but praise about all concept IGA has shown to us. The sexy design of Dominique is just a very Japanese thing, IMO, along with Vepar's breast. Maybe I'm just too familiar with this kind of thing lol I guess her design is not trying to precisely reflect the historical background from the beginning, it's more like that IGA had a character come to his mind, first he designed the character first, then threw some historical elements into that design.
