HYPE! Oh god... another glamorous beauty... let me just sunk into that blood bath... I can't tell whose voice is though... *cough* While effects still need polishing but I can see the game is shaping up! That castle part is particularly interesting We might call this "alpha stage"? Once the team got the core system settled down? EDIT: And again, browsing youtube comment section is not recommended. EDIT AGAIN: Oh I forget to mention the new music track! Lol "They went for that slower castlevania/floaty jumpy feel vs SotN's more fluid control style. " Someone please tell the user the jumps and running animations and speed are almost virtually the same between the two games. Slow ( the demo felt absolutely perfect and totally in line with igavania's but okay ) and the graphics don't look good like 2d. I want it to look like Hollow Night. I would love for them to show me an example of a game with the depth of an IGAVANIA that has Hollow Night's graphics. Let's see how many examples they can list. anyways, it looked like she had a different scarf on and she also does a double jump in there ( nothing visually unique about it but hey! ). We get our first look at a familiar too.

Couple of quick points: 1. Not a big fan of the pained cry when Miriam gets a crystal shard. 2. Already some enemies that aren't Goetic demons. I'd call that a good sign. 3. These chandeliers absolutely need some physics so jumping on them doesn't feel as stiff, but I'm not worried at all. This is still nowhere near the final version. 4. DAMN! What a beautiful trailer! So many details! So much to talk about! What a huge hype! I was going to post a trailer analysis, but after CastleDan post, i will need to watch ALL THAT first, so. Let me enjoy the videos and talk later. But i want to say few things i already noticed: The first two seconds of the trailer already reveal potentially two things. First of all, we have a sixth type of Shard, the Gray (or White?) Shard (I will call it Gray/White Shard for now). Second, Miriam obtains this Shard by destroying a Crystal pillar and not by killing an enemy. It is almost certain that this Gray/White Shard will be akin to Ability Souls at Aria / Dawn of Sorrow that, in turn, were akin to Relics at other Igavanias. IGA has said before that progression abilities (Double Jump and such) would be integrated to Shards, so, here is our most probably response to that. We have a sixth type of Shard, the Gray/White Shard AND we can obtain Shards by other means, such as destroying Crystal Pillars. Also, we have a familiar. It's enemy version looks like Bloodstained's version of Medusa heads.

Has anyone compared Miriam's jog speed to other Igavanias? Just curious, because it looks very slow, but I'm not so sure. Sorry if this has already been addressed, I don't check the forum often.

Game looks incredible and you can see the improvements each time it's shown off.
the layout of the castle seems to be spot on which I'm happy to say. I noticed a lot of rooms where the floor isn't completely flat but had some geometry and structure to it.

Hollow Knight is HD 2D - many people still wish this game was HD 2D (myself included) even if they understand why that didn't happen here (myself included). It also depends which aspect of the gameplay people value. Not everyone cares as much about the RPG elements of Igavanias and the Metrodi elements of Hollow Knight were a slam dunk. Like the games aren't the same but as a recent, popular and quality Metroid-like game, it makes sense for there to be comparisons made. Has anyone compared Miriam's jog speed to other Igavanias? Just curious, because it looks very slow, but I'm not so sure. Sorry if this has already been addressed, I don't check the forum often. It's more or less the same. It just looks slower since the game is 2.5D and not 2D. An arguement can be made some animations should be sped up to compensate but then that may have changed the base gameplay in a way IGA didn't want.
