"Posts" and "Member is Online" are in black currently, and it can be difficult to read, the color of username would be just fine.

Screenshot:
I will look into changing the colours of the special effects as well, if it is possible at all.
Video: Should be done uploading in about half an hour.
OMG the classic black & red combination, this is cool. Could we get the mod assets?

Yeah I definitely want this in the game. I remember Beelzebub complaining about his hair is becoming thinner and thinner in SoTN, that always makes me laugh

True, but as far as this forum goes, I can see how someone would want to mod in the shadows instead of being open with it here. Gratefully, I don't think IGA or Mana would do anything to discourage modding. I know I certainly wont. If it becomes exceedingly popular and needs more organization, I might even make a sub-board for it. Since BS is a game based on 3D models not 2D pixel sprites, which makes modding much easier, it's more likely to see modding would become a thing (under the dev team's permission of course). Customized costumes are always awesome

The game crashed on its first run, but second time it runs pretty well. Seems like other people have the same issue too on the feedback thread.

There's only one thing I'd like to say is the back-dash stop time is a little bit too short. You can almost back-dash immediately after another back-dash.

Many people seem don't know which key is attack, so I'd like to create thread dedicated to keyboard/mouse key bindings:
In-game Actions: ASWD: Movement Left Mouse Button: X Button (Attack) Right Mouse Button: Y Button (Triggered Shard) Space: A Button (Jump) B: Start Button (Menu) N: Select Button (Map) Z: LB Button (Back Dash) E: RT Button (Directional Shard, still don't know how to angle)
Menu Actions: Arrow Keys: Navigation Z: A Button X: B Button C: Y Button V: X Button 1: LB Button 0: RB Button
EDIT: Unpacked pak and went through the config file, find out there's no key binding for right analog stick, but you can add it manually. Open RON\Config\DefaultInput.ini after unpack RON-WindowsNoEditor.pak (this file is located under "Bloodstained Ritual of the Night\RON\Content\Paks", you might need Unreal Engine 4 for unpacking it) add these at the end of the file:
That'll bind the right analog stick to JKIL keys. Next, put the whole RON folder back to "Bloodstained Ritual of the Night", choose merge all if prompted. Then move away or simply rename the Paks folder to something else, you're ready to go.

Okay so I bought the game on steam, played for about 45 minutes, cleared Tutorial and No.2 Cryosphere. Here are some of my opinions on MN9:
1. Japanese dub is significantly better than English version. They sound less bland and more intriguing. 2. MN9 is nowhere to be a "bad game", it's a decent Megaman-style game (more like original series than X, since there's no charge shot and wall-jumping). 3. Dash and Combo System is actually really fun to play, in result made this game has even faster pace than original Megaman. Yes, almost infinite air dash, you can even change the direction while dashing in the air! 4. Game's challenging, but not "difficult" IMO. There are some areas with instant death traps that might be annoying at first, but that's okay I guess. 5. Music is there, but does nothing more than a normal BGM. Not memorable at all, except the main menu one, that one is great. 6. Graphic is ugly, in-game it seems okay, but this game has cutscenes, which is totally ruined by the bad character model. They look like some plastic figures with eyes made from paper snapped on. Just see Call in the main stage selection screen you'll know what I mean.
All in all, a decent, challenging game with bad graphics and normal music. It's okay to call it a Megaman clone with new system introduced, but "spiritual successor" might be too big for its quality. Buy it on sale or in bundle is recommended.

Hey folks! Since IGA, Mana, and the rest of the team has gotten back from E3, we've been making some more progress with getting the Demo ready for distribution. We still don't have an exact date just yet, but it should be pretty soon! I know the wait is tough, but you can make it!!
We'll wait! A little bit of inside information won't hurt anyone...

Hanging around the forums for awhile and cannot find a dedicated thread related to this topic so I'd like to create one. So I'm more like a retro-freak type of guy so I subscribed a bunch of retro game reviewers. Cinemasscre: Probably almost everybody who loves to play retro games knows James and AVGN by now. James&Mike's Monday and Mike&Bootsy are good show recently. Pat the NES Punk: Complete Unnecessary Podcast, Ian and Pat's topic is wide and fun. Lazy Game Reviews: Almost watch Clint's video every day while eating my lunch or dinner. A channel dedicated to retro console games is everywhere, but LGR is dedicated to PC and other computer machines like Amiga, Commodore 64, Atari Computers and of course IBM-PC's games. As a computer geek who spends lots of time with my old Cynix CPU and S3 graphic card back in the days, it's like paradise. I'm a patron of LGR now. PushingUpRoses: Basically same as LGR but PUR is more dedicated to adventure games IMO, and also a lot of weird old games. She's cool. LGR&PUR's Let's Play might be the best thing ever, they just have some chemistry there, very pleasant to watch. AlphaOmegaSin: Just love to see Alpha rants through all the events lol Gaming Historian: Also a patron of this. Norm's video is probably the best quality on the history aspect of gaming industry (hey, the channel name is "Gaming Historian"). It's just so well-formed and executed very well. Extremely good show. Game Sack: Watched them a lot in the past, plenty of information on games, but sometimes they're just a little repetitive. 8-Bit Guy & The Obsolete Geek: Not only games, but also retro technologies, The Obsolete Geek collects arcade boards too! Retroware: I subscribed this mostly because of the infamous "The Video Game Year" show, that's a very big, yet well executed one. From 1978~1989, tons of games and knowledge I didn't even know before. So what are you guys' choice?

It is interesting to observe the differences between Japanese and western developers. Iga has shown to take a fairly hands-on approach when developing games. By that I mean paying attention to where each part of team is and offering opinions or advice when questions come up or decisions need to be made. On the other hand, a director like Inafune seems to have a different approach. He and his company Comcept seem to be less involved with day-to-day aspects of development and contribute broader creative and thematic direction. Of course this is mostly conjecture, since Japanese game development has historically been a fairly private process. I'd love to know how involved Inafune was for games like Onimusha. Whatever the case may be, there definitely does seem to be a difference of job roles between developers like Iga and someone like David Jaffe. Interesting stuff. While the approach to game development is very different in Japan, when you get right down to it it's the personality of the guy in charge that makes the biggest difference, regardless of the overall approach you're following. The way I see it, you've basically got these leader types (examples taken from Japanese game developers, but the same applies to western developers): The obsessive: always hands on, goes over everything to make sure it's just the way he/she wants it. Example: Hideo Kojima. The team player: maybe hands-on or hands-off, but tends to delegate responsibilities and accept the creative input from others. Example: IGA, Yoshi-P(FFXIV) The whip-cracker: maybe hands-on or hands-off, but the person's style is basically to push the team. Example: Keiji Inafune, Shigeru Miyamoto. None of these types is good or bad per-se ... they each have their advantages and disadvantages, and all leaders have to be a bit of each - but they do translate into very, very different results. Here are some advantages and disadvantages that come to mind. The obsessiveAdvantages: can lead to the creation of truly innovative and revolutionary games, as one guy's crazy vision is not diluted by those of others - no one else's opinion matters. Disadvantages: the whole no one else's opinion matters extends to the players as well, so controversial issues are not addressed. Think of the cut-scenes in Metal Gear: there are those who love them, but they've also been criticized for being too long, which is something Kojima never addressed. The team playerAdvantages: leads to the creation of games enriched by several different perspectives. Disadvantages: more likely to result in an evolutionary product as opposed to one which is revolutionary. Also, if the team player leader is not a good project manager, the game might never come out, since competing ideas eat up time and resources. The whip-crackerAdvantages: leads to games that represent the very best a team has to offer... Disadvantages: ... provided that the team is very good, or that the whip cracker him/herself is very good and very hands-on ... otherwise, demanding that stuff be better isn't going to make it better, and might actually make it worse. Man, you rocks. I'm wondering how do you get information like these or just concluded them all by yourself?

My username is a reflection for my love of arachnids. Even when I was a toddler, I was fascinated by spiders and was always wondering around the garden watching them preying on insects. Since then, my knowledge of these wonderful creatures has gone through the roof and I still go out at night during the summer months with my torch to scrutinize them in all their webby glory. For all you folks who hate spiders, always remember, a spider could be responsible for catching the mosquito that could've given you malaria. I'll leave you with a video of just how lovely these creatures can be... When I was still in college, there's a spider lived in the corner wall in our old computer lab, my seats is near the corner so I'd like to see that little buddy working on its web and capture little insects in my spare time. Once I came back school from summer break and then there's like a full web of insects, and I thought "wow somebody got itself treated well" lol I still miss that little buddy after graduation.

Has anyone notice that when Miriam kicks it does 8 damage unless you kick the monster's boobies and then it does 12? Looking at some other videos as well (and it seems someone else touched upon it too), I think the most damage is done when you hit the boss in the head and the least is when you hit their tentacles. Different damage for different spots on the boss both makes sense and is kind of cool/funny (especially in context of this particular boss ). I think this boss is the coolest "first boss" in an Igavania yet (or at worst second to Arthroverta from OoE). I just hope the version that is in the final game is tougher - the boss battle in the demo was super easy (for obvious reasons). Speaking of some of those other videos I've seen, this short video focused on the boss battle shows off a "magic mace" attack Miriam is able to use. Clearly its a Trigger shard you get for defeating a Dullahammer but I never saw one of those drop its shard in any of the other demo videos: This next, longer video is from Dengenki Online. The player is Japanese and mostly speaks in Japanese. Not too much new info here but you get to see at the end the player switches back to the sword from the Kung-Fu Boots and seems to do even more damage to the final boss suggesting that the boss is either weak to cutting attacks or resistant to the blunt attacks of kicks. I hope weapon/magic resistances and weakness are played up more like they were in Order of Ecclesia than they were in other games (they existed in other Igavanias but I felt you rarely had to take advantage of them whereas you often did have to in OoE). You can also hear some English speakers in the background of this video. I can't recognize their voices but someone does talk about the jump being 3 pixels too high . Is romscout back there? Or some other speedrunner? Who knows! Because OoE is considerably harder than others I think? SoTN also has the different types of resistances but we don't take much advantages of them because most enemies could be defeated in several hits if your LV is appropriate, no matter what type of weapon you're using. I remember using the Stealth Dagger (I can't recall the actual name of that weapon, it's a black short dagger) almost half the game without getting into serious trouble. I'd like to see this feature get more involvement into game though.
