One thing that was cool in Symphony of the Night and went sadly unused in the later games was the ability to pay the librarian to watch a no-damage run of a boss. It'd be kind of nifty if Bloodstained had a similar thing, whether as part of its enemy archive or somewhere else.
Hell, since the game's going to be beta-tested before it's released, wouldn't it be cool if the best runs of the community members from the pre-release version had a chance to be featured in the final version of the game, with the proper credit given, of course? I know these days you can just look up a run on Youtube, but it could be like a special badge of honor.

I'm in love with that idea! I really hope they decide to do something like that. That's even good from a beta-testing standpoint, as more people are going to try and "break" the game for each boss fight. Obviously we wouldn't feature the runs where players we able to break the fights in undesirable ways, but saving the best "legit" runs would be awesome! Also I don't remember the "no damage runs" being strictly "no damage" 100% of the time. But they were definitely well done, and most of the time insightful.

Yeah I definitely want this in the game. I remember Beelzebub complaining about his hair is becoming thinner and thinner in SoTN, that always makes me laugh

Yep even if it is a really simple model viewer like they used to show case Miriams model l, thatd make my day.
I always love stuff like that that allows me to inspect and possibly learn new stuff from the models.
They had this in Kid Icarus as well and I learned a few things from it!

An enemy encyclopedia would be cool especially if there are a lot of enemies in the game. It would also be pretty cool if each enemy had some lore attached them in addition to the normal stuff: immune to, resists, blocks, etc. It gives them more "life" even if most of them are "lowly mooks."
Also, they maybe onto the enemy encyclopedia already. There was a tab entitled "Archives", it was greyed out so nothing could be done with it. Perhaps it does something similar. Then again...it might be where the player can view all their saves.

Hasn't every IGAvania had an in-game bestiary? The only non-classic CV without one I can think of is Circle of the Moon, which IGA didn't work on. I imagine he'd like to put one in Bloodstained as well, although it's always a good idea to show fan interest as well just in case.

Yeah, I would be shocked if this game doesn't have an encyclopedia/bestiary. They don't always have the same information though, so I can understand talking about what you want it to include. It would be nice if it mentions how many of each enemy you've defeated.

yeah I agree it will be in the game, there are just some extras we might want in the encyclopedia... like making the monster/demon do an extra "movement" (like a little dance) when all their items are uncovered (eg items dropped, soul shards, etc).

Forgive me for posting from another thread but in "what kind of room would you like to claim in the castle?" thread Estebant said this:- This is what I want.... I want the theatre area of the castle to have a special room where you can see the animations for each attack of the enemies in the game. Almost like they're performing for you. Maybe you can unlock the animations by using an item like a "Theatre Shield" or something where the enemy has to hit you with the attack for it to be appear in the theatre room. Almost like Charlotte's shield in Harmony of Despair. Maybe the shield can have a special attack that teleports you to the room. I'm a completionist so I for sure would go all around the castle capturing animations. It would be so much fun. The benefit would be, the ability to rotate the models, zoom in, pause the animation and see the beatuful models without taking damage. Mirror of Fate could do that on its menu, but the enemies were kinda dull. Also they just looped the same animation over and over. Its was pretty lame but it was better than older castlevanias just showing you a sprite. That does't sound too crazy or hard to do since theyre using 3D models anyway. It would extend the replay value without being stupid like Justes furniture collection. Maybe the specific enemy sounds can play for each monster too. I remember old Sound Test modes would play all these sounds with generic numbers as names and I never knew what monsters they belonged to and that was pretty lame. Would be more interesting to have to find the Bestiary room in the castle rather than just selecting it from a menu, in my view this is a great idea.

Would be more interesting to have to find the Bestiary room in the castle rather than just selecting it from a menu, in my view this is a great idea. yeah I know what you mean... but I didn't like that, that's how it was in SotN and it was a pain to go all the way back to the Librarian just to see a some info on a monster... I ended up not even checking it out. If you had a basic bestiary in your menu and all the gimmicks (seeing monsters in full 3d, strategies, and what they do on their down time) were in a separate room... I wouldn't mind that...

I get what you're saying but maybe once you've found the room you can have a teleport to get there fast or something, just think menu option is kinda boring

yeah it was the same with the librarian, you could teleport there when ever you want (through a "library card" item) but it was still a pain... mainly because you could not get back to where you were after... you had to make your way back to where ever you were (that was the pain part).
again I do understand what you mean, it would be awesome to have a room dedicated to a bestiary, maybe a part of "Miriam's room" I might except that... but I'd still prefer a pause menu.

I was reading through some old updates and noticed in one it detailed something pretty similar to what you're talking about here. From update 14: Asynchronous Online Multiplayer You've been guessing at this one for a while, so it's time to reveal a few things IGA's hoping to implement! "Borrow" a friend's character stats for a certain amount of time (your friend will get a bonus) Ghost Data (See friend's saved character movements while fighting a boss) Friend's playthroughs affect your game in some way (e.g. a gravestone and an offering might mark the spot where your friend died) Plus another surprise that we'll unveil soon... Of course we're still in the planning phase, so who knows what we'll end up with. As always, though, IGA and the team would love to hear your ideas—how would you build a great asynchronous multiplayer experience? So it seems that this is pretty likely, maybe not strictly in the main game but just as well. Hmm I wonder what that other surprise was?
