We've seen a couple of reports of Xbox One codes not working—not sure what's going on, but I'm following up with Inti Creates to see if they can sort it out.

Thanks to everybody who ordered a shirt—we shipped most of the weekend orders out this morning, but if you haven't received an shipping confirmation e-mail lots more should be going out soon. For this print run we tried to order enough to keep the shirt in stock through the end of the year, so we're going to start allowing non-backers to buy it beginning on Wednesday. (We aren't in danger of selling out of any sizes right now, so there's no rush—I just wanted to let you guys know first.) We're also going to bring some to PAX West, so if you're planning to be there, come say hi! If you're a backer who hasn't bought one yet, you're still eligible for the $4 backer-only discount—it'll remain active as long as we have the shirts in stock. (While I'm at it, I noticed our friends at Sanshee put up their Bloodstained merch from BitSummit, if you haven't seen it yet.)

Hi all! We finally finished folding and packing the reprint, so I'm just about to send out the e-mail notifications to people who signed up for this next round—if you have the URL from last time, you should be able to order one now. Until everybody who signed up for the last round is able to pick theirs up, these are still backers-only; I'm hoping we'll have more than enough for everyone this round, but we'll see!

We're hearing scattered reports of people having to wash the shirts before their beards grow in.

Freaking lame, I just NOW got the email and all sizes for men are already sold out. How long till we can reorder for JUST usbackers only since your out of stock ? I just got the email over a day late We won't open it up to non-backers until the backers who signed up get a chance to buy theirs. We'll probably reopen preorders as soon as we have an estimated time the next run of shirts will arrive in our warehouse. (I'll keep people updated in this thread.) SaveSave

Quick update—these sold way faster than we were expecting them to sell, so (as you've noticed) we're sold out in a lot of sizes already. We're putting a second backer-only run into production right now, so anybody who wants a shirt will be able to get one. We'll base our production quantities (in part) on the e-mail signups; if you sign up for that you'll get one e-mail when we've put them back into stock.
(Obviously we'll also still be honoring the backer discount for that second run.)

I don't have any inside information on this, but just based on the way IGA described it I wouldn't describe what he's talking about as possible censorship—it sounded more like "During the initial process I go really far into the ideas I have, and I may or may not pull it back in the final product as I refine it."
Which is a good way to write/create art, in my experience—better to have a first draft that's a little too intense but has fun things in it than a first draft that's really boring and you have to try punching up.

Speaking only from the American side of the campaign, I'd be really interested to see what kind of hardware people on the forums are running the demo on, and how it ran for them. (And as somebody who played Fallout 4 on a three-year-old APU with integrated graphics, anybody running it below the listed minimums?)

E3 DEMO: Coming this month. Everybody backing at $60+ will get the demo, which will be coming out over Steam. So if you backed for a PS4 copy, a Wii U copy, a PC copy on either Steam or GOG—anything—you will get the demo, but it's only being distributing over Steam and it will only run on Windows.
BETA: Coming later—no date set in stone yet. Will be distributed in the same way we initially explained in the backer updates during the campaign: Anybody whose $60+ pledge includes a PC copy (on Steam or GOG) will be getting access to the beta. (I believe the key for the beta is set to update to the final copy later on.)
SURVEY: If you backed during the campaign, you should have received an e-mail from Fangamer some time in September. That's the survey. The link you received is personalized to you—it's basically your Bloodstained account. So by clicking the link (copy and paste it into your browser window if the link is broken), you can edit or update your survey.
If you can't find your survey e-mail, and you're sure you're looking in the e-mail account you had associated with your Kickstarter account during the Bloodstained campaign, e-mail us at orders@fangamer.com with all the information you can give us. (But definitely look first—we've already received hundreds of requests from people, so it might take a few days for us to help you.)
DEMO+SURVEY: We're sending the demo to everybody who pledged at $60+ and filled out their survey by June 13. So you have until then to back—if you haven't already—or fill out your survey, if you haven't done that. If you have filled out your survey, you're golden! Enjoy the demo.
Hope that clarifies things a little!

Hi everybody! We've been getting some customer service e-mails recently from people worried about their Bloodstained backer links suddenly not working anymore. (In our [Fangamer's] system, your backer account is contained in the special link you received when you first filled out the survey—you can use it to upgrade your tier or change your shipping address at any time.)
We tracked the problem down, and it turns out it has to do with our e-mail/newsletter provider changing its tracking service, which we use to make sure the e-mails find the right mailboxes, avoid spam filters, etc. Short version: Your URL still works, but clicking the link in the e-mail doesn't. If you copy and paste the URL, instead of clicking on it, you'll be able to access your account like normal.
Sorry about that! And if you run into any other issues, let us know.

I think there's going to be a small (relative to our PAX booth) Fangamer booth there, too—nobody from the Bloodstained team is going, but come say hi to us anyway.

Someone with a better head for this kind of thing will have to double-check, but looking at the newer screenshot it seems like the "camera" is a little lower—closer to a traditional side-scroller view.
No inside-knowledge here, as usual, but combined with his answer about not being interested in orthographic perspective for its own sake I wonder whether the camera's going to be a little more "active" than I've been assuming.

It's just a humble admission. Fangamer did an amazing job with the Kickstarter campaign. I never suggested (or meant to suggest) otherwise Not a problem! Based on our experience with Bloodstained, the only way to come up with a bunch of good ideas is to come up with a million that are mostly bad and then cull almost all of them. We were lucky to have so many teams working on the project—it was like a built-in sanity check on everyone's ideas.

At one point, on Fangamer's side, we tossed around "Hey, let's say we'll do it on the NX" as a stretch goal idea. Luckily, cooler heads prevailed, and the Japanese side wisely pointed out that we have no idea what it is. (The customer service for inadvertently committing to porting Bloodstained to a Quality of Life platform would have been... interesting.)
Right now my plan is to play Bloodstained on the Wii U, but if the NX turns out to be a next-gen console that runs UE4 I hope Inti ports it, because I'm sure I'll buy the thing Day 1.

We're expecting to get the next round of screens from IGA and Inti Creates by the end of this week, and we'll be working to put the update together (translating Ask IGA, writing everything up, etc.) as soon as they're in. Anything can happen until we get the art from the dev team, but the middle of next week feels like a safe estimate right now.

IGA never would have left if Konami hadn't done such a strange job of handling his career and the series he loved, but speaking from the campaign side I think it definitely didn't hurt to have them constantly reminding people of how bad things were there while we were launching the campaign.

Re: the discussion about the prototype, it was specifically created as an animation sample (I think we mentioned that in the backer update, but I might not have.) The backgrounds in the video, so far as I can tell, are nothing more or less than the flat concept art that was available at the time. The feedback about the viewing angle, etc., is really interesting; we'll be passing it on to IGA along with everything else.
Related note: As one of the people who's tasked with reading every bit of feedback, summarizing it, and passing it along to the dev team, I wanted to thank you guys for just how thoughtful and civil all the feedback (positive, negative, and neutral) has been. I've never seen anything like it on a Kickstarter project of this size, and it's really impressed me.

crocodile: I haven't heard anything to suggest they'll have animation ready in time, but I'll ask. On a related note—and this is me talking, not the campaign—I think animation is going to have a lot to do with how "2D" this game ends up looking. When you look at a game like the Strider remake, much of the pseudo-2D charm is in the way the characters move and the effects they have on the world.
