I'd like to see a reset of Miriams powers by trying to become human. But there is an after-affect of the curse. She got some traits left, an aura if you will so that she can use things almost like before, but no longer collect shards.
RELICS Instead of abilities through shards, she have passive abilities from Relics she finds along the way. Same relics needed to fight the end boss. These relics are also needed for any other playable character. And give each character similar attributes.
If a relic makes miriam double jump, it might allow another character to do a high jump or a floating jump for example, at least so everyone can reach whatever they want to reach. That same relic could be a whip thing for someone that can use it to grab until ledges far away, or stuff like that.
A relic would also be at the same area, but change in type. If Miriam found it, it could be wings for her for example, to allow for the double jump, but its a whip for the character with whip. So while the segment of the area remains and you get the item needed, it is swapped in purpose for that character.
I wished powerful things would be granted from bosses, not from normal enemies. I know the grind is fine, but allow enemies to drop all the other things other than abilities. Too many, too little we use.
LEVEL DESIGN Let us explore an everchanging castle again. Not villages, or the world. I like the gothic nature and want to see more of it. If we travel around I hope we end up in a castle around 50% on its way, if its a huge game.
GRAPHICS I hope to see different approach for the game graphics. While kickstarter fans decided back in the day (before my time even) which cellshade to use etc. I would make it more traditional to the classical games and keep them more grounded and less plastic-y. Hard lights are fine, but soft lights would be better. Darkness. Not clean, lit-up detailed marmor 90% of the castle. Just look at Symphony of the Night as references. God I wish we had a remaster of that game with additional levels and power ups, and not a full on remake like some are making these days (making item-based game into skill-based is not the way to go guys!).
I wrote all this in a idea dry day. I can do better. I would probably save my better ideas for myself if I ever make an IGAvania myself. Which I might, in Unreal Engine some day.

As long as Bloodstained fans needs this forum, I believe it will be around.
About B2. Early concepts are done, alpha testing have been done at least once among very few. Sadly I wasn't part of it. I would've made so many notes of it if I had. Dedication.
I am a bit worried that they haven't spoken of it as much though, perhaps its due to 505 Games that might have told them to make sure B1 is in focus, and B2 announcement would make B1 updates less hyped. Simple as that. But it really would've been nice to know MORE about B2.
And yeah, welcome back people, if you haven't been around that much. I know I haven't.

Mods? Do you mean modes? The mods are updated by people over at Nexus. When it comes to the patching, there are more to come.
And I have always stated that GOG version of Bloodstained is the best, since versions could be picked and played. I am not sure how many listened.

Most focus goes on expanding the Bloodstained Universe and Legacy. The updates will come, but it will take time.

Was very fun that the post with all these themes made it to the official poll. I appreciate that much. Also, I think it helped for some decisions for the team and I believe Bloodstained 2 could do with less modes and more core function and gameplay, which means DLCs costumes can be made for it easier I believe if they chose this direction. I like to find everything in the game, so that the game is a complete and finished purchase without the need to get more DLCs, however, if DLCs are handled with care, and are optional, like costumes with a very small fee, and it can aid development, then fine. The costumes must be very very cool if I am gonna get them though.
I think the best way to introduce additional costumes would be bundled or part of expansion, which in a sense would be "complete" as a purchase, making the costumes additional bonus features, or part of a system that the expansion introduces. An expansion could be a new area, a new playable character and costumes, new items and new fighting / spell / soul / whatever system. It needs to give the game a new feel, but keeping the old. This would be hard to make and looking back on Castlevania series of the IGAvania universe, the playable characters are always part of the core and base game and have never been downloadable before as a DLC (not counting patches which some call DLCs, not sure why). Patches are also free and included, at least what I've seen.
Anyway.. Costumes, skins, outfits, additional double jump wing designs, stuff like that? Love it!

Shards are from bosses for Miriam. Imagine these relics are from bosses too, used for other playable characters. It would be a different system, no need to grind and given you a choice. Would be less random than card system for example the Max Up Game Castlevania Circle of the Moon.
Keep it aside, have costume for visual effect only.

If not clothing, then perhaps a belt with 5 slots in it or something. Perhaps belts are upgraded with slots.
By picking up relics you can combine them in a specific pattern to gain elemental damage or shield, sub-weapons and so on. Experimenting with it. Like a simple puzzle. Relics or runes or what not. This could be used with alchemy heroes, in no need of shards if Miriam got other friends that help her out.
For example, a stone or emblem of something can be fire attribute. If that is first in a slot of 1 in low tier belt, it means it gives you fire resistancce. In a slot of 2, it can be combined with other things that will evolve it to either "higher resistance", "Dagger attacks got now fire damage" "Dagger attacks got now much fire damage", "Shield of ... (fire)". and so on.
With a better belt, or clothing, with slots up to 3, 4 or 5 etc. Can give your favorite gear, or build at least a massive bonus in what would suit your playstyle.
Costumes per say, that change appearance is what I would like to see be just a clothing feature, not something that gives you anything but just a swap of clothing. So in a sense, have features like unlimited ammo, for example would be in some gear that are visibly not needed. If I want to run around looking like a Pirate or a Ninja, and got fire skills, combined with shards or sub-weapons, I should be allowed to run around looking like that but play it my way.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like it draws a lot of inspiration from Order of Ecclesia. Feels like something that would belong in IGA's universe of Castlevanias. I truely hope it will be finished and released.

Thank you aceearly1993 for the input. I have been checking out The Lecarde Chronicles, and will investigate Touhou Luna Nights again, its been a while. Also I have checked in The Messenger. What I hope to achieve, in short when it comes to graphics is Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, with a filter similar to that of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. That means, pixels, but not real pixels. Examples are games like Valfaris and Dead Cells, both of which use dark forground, light background. The filter is there for a reason I can't really explain today, but if my vision can be made, which I am sure of at this time (but who knows), the game will have variety enough to keep it interesting.

Noticed that Metroid Dread use same black forground and bright background as Hollow Knight and games outside of the category like Dead Cells. Which isn't what we are used to in IGAvanias, which handle bright forground and darker backgrounds. Not always, but in general. I will show examples below. Starting out with the Light forground games. Castlevania Portrait of Ruin / Castlevania Symphony of the Night / Bloodstained Ritual of the Night Vs. Dark forground games. Hollow Knight / Metroid: Dread / Dead Cells What are your guys thoughts about that? Do you enjoy light or dark forground?

Since January, I have been writing, documentated, sketched and made music for my own game project: Amzeer - Aurora of Rebirth. Story nugget
The game will follow Amzeer, a girl that wakes up in a tomb outside of a village with no knowing of her past. The village itself have a few other people that try to co-exist, but something is however very strange. Many of them do not understand each other, and seems to be out of place through time and even worlds, and nobody has a memory how they ended up there.
In the distance there is a castle (surprise!?) which seems to draw Amzeer. Perhaps in there lies the answers she, and everyone else is looking for? Game Design
- Category: Igavania / Metroidvania
- Sub-Category: Horror / Gothic / Ethreal
- Overview: 2D exploration in a 3D environment
- Difficulties: Easy will give you additional features, while Normal is more strict. There will be higher difficulties as well.
- World: Big castle with unique locations both inside and outside
- Music: Inspired by Castlevania, horror movies, modern orchestral etc. made by myself (have a listen below)
- Censorship: Contains nudity, gore and customization of character
- Story: Additional deeper lore as an option
- Game Modes: Main game, Boss Rush, Mini Games and more. Additional options will allow you to change the experience.
- Enemies: Creatures and monsters inspired from games, movies and folklore I grew up with
InspirationHeavy from Castlevania - Symphony of the Night. Little from Bloodstained - Ritual of the Night. Extremely little from Dark Souls. Take an example from Symphony of the Night - Lost Painting which inspired this pieace I made for the game (listen at the beginning, there are a few other tunes in there). Below is the earliest test of the game engine (Unreal Engine) and trying out the music. The music has been updates since, and was more a music test than anything. The areas wont be in the game, which are free assets used just to get a feel of the engine. There is no release date or anything. And when its time for its released, most of you, if not all of you have already forgotten about this project of mine actually. If I would to guess, its an alchemy extension of latin. In other words: Its made up with inspiration out of languages. And by keeping it clear to the creators - Teps is officially thunder or lightning when it comes to magic, imbues, items, weaponry and gear for example.
If its a real language, then I missed it as well. I can't write for sure that its made up, but sure seems like it.

Since this game is less about the castle and more about the story of Miriam and Gebel, there is no attachment to the Castle itself. In Castlevania, Dracula needs his castle, its part of what he is as well. Here, Miriam can see the world.
I have no idea or say in if the game should explore (with Zangetsu and Miriam) parts of the world in the next installment, or limit it to one area with another castle from Hell, from an unknown source of evil.
I mean.. There are plenty of demons that wanna rule over hell. Right?
