Maybe it is best to clarify it here. Inti Creates is not involved in the main development of the Bloodstained game, but they are involved in the prequel mini-game. Part of the vagueness is to avoid unneeded attention and negative speculation. So yes, they are involved but not in the main game since last year's E3. DICO has picked up the development from where they have left off under mutual agreement. A lot of parties are involved so it could be quite confusing. ArtPlay is the main developer, while we are hiring DICO as a third party developer. We created the game design, story, direction, gimmicks, and the overall production of the game while DICO creates art assets, design levels, and basically filling in the manpower ArtPlay doesn't have. In the future, you'll most likely see 505 Games and ArtPlay credited on trailer videos and articles to come out. Thanks so much for the clarification, Mana, we really appreciate it. However, this does raise some concerns I've heard elsewhere, though I think they should prove to be nothing important. Has DICO had to re-do any work or significantly delay progress as a result of "picking up where they [Inti] left off?" I assume not, given what you've said, but a bit of confirmation would put many hearts at ease, I think

It's definitely a good question, and I hope Mana comes in to clarify things. Off the top of my head, though, I recall IGA mentioning that he brought DICO and Monobit on to work with Unreal Engine, which Inti wasn't as experienced with. So if DICO is doing the programming and Inti Creates is "in the past tense" with reference to Bloodstained, that makes me think that Inti finished creating all the assets and graphics and stuff and have moved on to other projects, while DICO is implementing those assets in game with Unreal. But again, someone like Mana would know best.

I would to believe there would be a bit more than a change in color. Remember these two guys? That is what I call a color-swap. I would rather believe something along these lines: Now imagine different animals than just demons. And added to it, different colors and attack animations. Perhaps they all share the same attack frequence. But hopefully each are unique in design but also in effects. They could do small things to make a huge impact. I mean, if we just imagine they guard some important places that goes hand in hand, these enemies would make a better concept. Like, statues or guardians. But we shall see. I understand how it can be disappointing too. The other thing I was thinking of is that it might be both a matter of fairness and consistency. Hear me out. Looking at the campaign page, I notice that there seem to be but 5 contributors at the "Hounds of Hell" tier. Going from what Thomas said, I assume he wasn't the only cat owner amongst that group. So I think we can conclude that the design team had to decide how to incorporate several different kitty-kats into the game. This may be more challenging than it sounds at first, because the team has to juggle the demands of 5 people who may have provided similar source material (their cats) while demanding their contributions be memorable and distinctive. Let's think about some approaches the team might have taken, and for the purposes of argument let's say Thomas and 2 other people sent in kitties. Thomas gets the badass Rondo of Blood-inspired foe, which is an iconic enemy and a huge shout-out to old-school Castlevania fans everyone is ecstatic over, as established above. But what do the other two people get? Maybe one gets a cute little witch's familiar, and another gets, like, the panther from the Sorrow games. Would that be fair? I wouldn't complain, but I could see why other people might. The other two content contributors might say, "hey, why did we only get minor enemies while the other guy got an awesome, iconic miniboss?" It might lead to discontent and accusations of favoritism. The most even-handed solution, therefore, might have been to give all of the cat contributors a Rondo-style "bursts out of the wall" boss. Yes, it might be annoying being palette-swapped, but having all the cat owners being given the same enemy template means none of them have been treated unfairly or any better or worse than any other.

If you saw my earlier post, you can expect nothing more than what was shown in the concept. All Cat pets will essentially all be the same enemy with different skins. And all of them will only be partially visible, with no unique characteristics. Copy Pasta. =(
I suppose it's possible all pets will use this template, but I'm not sure. I'm sure the game will be great, but I can definitely say i'm personally disappointed with my contribution. =( Hmm, I'm sorry to hear that. Were there other cats submitted that had the same design (i.e bursting out of the wall as in Rondo of Blood)? I could see why that would be a disappointment if the same design was reused multiple times, but I'm not sure that's what's happening.

Guest posts stay under quarantine until they're approved, since there are spam bots a lot of the time, haha. But yeah, I understand your feelings, though I wouldn't lose too much hope yet. If you got a physical copy, you should be able to download the staggered content as updates when it releases. That's what they did with Shovel Knight, IIRC, so it seems likely a similar approach would be used for Bloodstained's staggered content. And it worked well enough for Shovel Knight

Productive day today! I put the finishing touches on a small essay on philosophy I've been working on: gunlord500.wordpress.com/2017/07/06/the-problem-with-desire/If you guys are into classical philosophy or philosophy of religion, I think you might enjoy this. If you do, consider becoming my patron on Patreon! www.patreon.com/Gunlord500I noticed a lot of folks on Reddit and places like that seemed to very much appreciate my substantive entries on subjects like history and philosophy, so I figured I might start up a tip jar of sorts. Figured it couldn't hurt to post it here too, if my fellow Bloodstained fans enjoy my writing and essays too

I agree with Purify 100%. Wissenschaft didn't mean any harm, and the discussion is off-topic anyway, so let's turn it back to talking about the game. Esteban, let the topic drop, everyone has made their points and nobody needs to belabor it any further. If something concerning happens, like Purify said, us mods are always on the case, so just PM us, alright? Back on topic, Pure Miriam, I'm interested in your comment about "Lead Systems." It's definitely something we could ask the team next time around Out of curiosity, though, what made you think Xbox was a possibility for the lead system? I'd have figured it'd almost always be straight to PC for most games like this, given how versatile the PC platform is

Let's dump the "ridiculous" talk, everyone. I get Estebant was making a joke, and I also see where Wissenschaft is coming from--I'd also be happy with just CotM graphics (and I rather liked CotM overall, too). However, a lotta folks like Aindriu have concerns about the game's atmosphere and aesthetic, and while I don't agree with everything in their analysis I think it does raise good points we should talk about. So yeah, we understand that no-one was intending to be rude or stifle discussion, so no-one's in trouble, this is just a friendly reminder But let's avoid words like "ridiculous" and concentrate instead on why we have the concerns we do (on one side) or why we like how the game's looking so far (on the other)

Of course am gonna discuss this with close friends of mine too but let's see what other IGAvania fans think. So I work in a supermarket and every now and then there's this promotion girl that comes sometimes promoting products from various departments. Every time we see each other we just say hi or good morning usually both with a smile. Am not a cashier but my post is mostly there and because of the circumstances there's not really a good chance to approach her with a good window but I managed to get the chance today and I took it. I went to her asked her name, gave her mine and shaked hands. I told her that while I didn't know her her face was familiar to me and asked her if she went to X high school that I went with as well. She told me yes and then I told her she is pretty, she said thank you and then I said I'd like to get know her. Before I could say anything more she just started walking away and no she wasn't blushing or being shy am pretty sure I creeped her out. I didn't go red or get nervous but I think I was pretty boring so am sure it's my fault. I wish she just said "am not interested" or something along those lines I would have just said pleasure and walked away. But anyway what do you guys think? And how should I treat her from now on when I see her? Should I ignore her from now on? Just say hi or goodmorning and pretend like nothing happened? I defintely won't go to her and say sorry for creeping you out because not only will it creep her out more it would make me look like a fool too. Thanks guys. Hmm. I think that could have gone better, but it also could have gone a lot worse--believe me, I've seen crashes and burns, and a girl just walking away politely is definitely not such a catastrophe She might've been a little creeped out, but if you act chill and normal the next few times you see her she should forget about it eventually. Just be polite but distant (hi and goodmorning are good) and things should simmer down sooner or later. I definitely wouldn't try to flirt with her again, though.

Hmm, interesting point. I do think it's probably the lighting might get changed, though, judging by how different the ship stage looked--they showed off updated screens and it both looked darker and wetter.

I chose the random choice, as far as im concerned the more variety the better Now, i personally think the animation should play only when Miriam gets a new shard, cause it makes sense for a cool animation to play only when something new has happened. But for moi its not such a big deal:D

Calm down, Scars. Like I said above, I welcome constructive criticism to make the game better and we dont have an echo chamber in here. On the other hand, constructive criticism should also be discussed in itself. I dont think spidery was being passive aggressive, the "faith in IGA" bit is probably a reference to how we're impressed with IGA's work and how we're all members of the Army of the Night 😁 So lets all calm down and have some I'll just give my two cents as someone who, just like you and Scars Unseen , is here since the beginning. First of all, I don't think Scars has, ever, being hostile or aggressive in this forum (well, maybe until the quoted post there). Almost everytime he gives his opinion, he does so being constructive for the sake of feedback, though generally people don't agree with him. Second, and this is one of the reasons that made me stop to come here, is that there is way too much of a positive aura in this place. I'm not saying we should act like the youtube comments section, but we can't blind ourselves from the problems the game has now (dismissing them just because the game is still in development), and see everything from a positive light. Actually, this is the best time to give valid criticism, because time isn't our greatest enemy (yet). That being said, see what happened in this thread. Some members were displeased with some aspects of the game, so they provided arguments to base their claims. Doing so, they gave valid criticism while being respectful and polite. Then, others appeared trying to dismiss their arguments because the game still is in development, or because it would create some kind of backlash, essentially suffocating opinions that aren't positive just because. Here is one thought of mine: if something is bad, you have to point and say it is bad. You can't dismiss a valid argument because you're afraid of its consequences. Arguing that said argument isn't valid is the correct way of behaving yourself in a forum. Finally, if you disagree with someone, and you're willing to discuss, then do it. Else, ignore it and move on. I understand where you're coming from and like I said, we do value negative opinions as long as they're expressed respectfully, like any other post. I just thought the all caps and red text might have been overboard, thats all. Was't seriously chastising Scars or anyone else, its just that when folks start using all caps, its often a sign things are getting more heated than I'd like, so might as well cool things down

I have strong faith in Iga ... have you? Okay, this is the closest I'm going to get here to being actually hostile. STOP. THAT.We will NOT be having loyalty tests of all the ridiculous things in this community. I will post my criticisms in this thread and anywhere else in this community that I feel like, and that's perfectly okay because I do so in a respectful manner with the intent of providing feedback for the developers that they can read and take into account or discard at their pleasure. If that is a problem for you, then you should ignore it because right now? This passive aggressive dismissal of any opinion that doesn't coincide with your own? You can take that right out of here. Calm down, Scars. Like I said above, I welcome constructive criticism to make the game better and we dont have an echo chamber in here. Yeah, no need for swearing, or for getting into harsh arguments with each other over differences of opinion. We've got a great deal of time before the game comes out, so let's all stay cool This will be the last moderation necessary ITT, I trust. Back on topic: I can understand aindriu's points, and I think some of it may stem from how most of us here love IGA's old sidescrollers most of all. Everything from Symphony of the Night to Order of Ecclesia was sprite based, so it'd be tough for a lot of us old-school fans to get used to a 3d (even "semi 3d," so to speak) artstyle. I think it's something IGA just had to accept, though. I mean, gameplay is the most important thing, and if Miriam and the enemies didn't stick out (to use one example), it'd be harder to keep track of them in motion. There's a lot of time between now and the final release date, which means the staff can polish up the graphics even further, so I think most of these issues can be resolved eventually.
