What is your stance on nudity?

I don't think we really need an 'official community permission' thing to state iga can follow his vision for the purposes of nudity... that would kinda imply we don't want him to follow his vision for OTHER areas of design, which would be kinda silly.

True enough, giwagiwa, but IGA and the Inti Creates staff also pay attention to other parts of the forum every now and then, so I don't think there's any harm in moving your thread from Suggestions to over here. If something more concrete gets thought up, maybe we can make another thread in Suggestions, but for now, as we're just gauging opinions, I agree with Xombiemike's moving of this poll. So enough about that, let's get back to the topic at hand...

I think Cale raises a good point--this game will take place in "Industrial-Era Europe," won't it? According to the campaign article, that's the late 1700s. While the notorious "Victorian" era would come later, it's important to note that even in the eighteenth century there were different standards of propriety depending on your socio-economic class and how you were raised. So depending on what sorts of people the alchemists who raised Miriam in the orphanage were--were they very concerned with maintaining their precarious social position, or did they spit on all social conventions?--the degree of modesty appropriate for her, given her background, might be different.

It shouldn't matter much or at least it doesn't matter to me. People like to say "if it adds something to the story character etc." If the creator feels like including it for any reason or no reason then it's their right for it is art. Also nudity is prevalent in most mythologies in one way or another so it isn't exactly out of place.

We all know if Iga uses nudity it will be for atmosphere sake, so there is no reason to restrict it. It is nothing else but a complementation to the details of the atmosphere and the world Iga wants to bring to life.

It seems naive to have anything against it, not to mention a option could be created to turn nudity textures on/off if the players doesn't like it, simple like that. About ratings and the young audience that's another misconception, if they are underage it will be their parents who will buy the game (since they have no money) and that means the restrictions are actually non existent (i never meet parents who really care about the ratings at all, except of course if it is pure or most porn).

Finally, nudity fits specific situations on igavania games, succubus and other demons are supposed to be exposed, not to mention gothic nudity on the archictecture and paintings around the castle.

I can see that option being useful for people streaming the game or LPing it on youtube without getting flagged for mature content or anything similar to that.

See, now that could be a game suggestion...

I don't care, if the person who is creating the game (or any kind of entertainment material) wants to put something, whether nudity, sexual material, violence, or whatever, so be it. The producer's mind shouldn't be limited by this kind of dilemma, it's just a game dammit, a fictional story.

The game sets in the dark age, we have devils and monsters, and you're going to whip/slash all that things out of the world...

...a little bit of nudity won't harm I think, so bring it on.
