gonintendo.com/stories/237730-a-look-at-how-that-snes-playstation-prototype-resurfacedThis info comes from a Polygon interview with Dan Diebold, the man who found the SNES Playstation prototype... - Terry Diebold, Dan's father, worked as a maintenance man at a company called Advanta Corporation from 2000 to 2009 - Olaf Olafsson was president of Advanta - Olafsson is also the former CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment - in 2009, Advanta filed for bankruptcy - the company ordered Diebold to clean out office rooms and throw stuff away - in one room was a box with the SNES Playstation prototype The system had a game cart and CD with it, but it's missing a power cord. Terry is planning on getting a cord and firing up the prototype to see if it works.

From my understanding the deal fell through because Sony wanted to be the exclusive producer of the hardware while Nintendo would have been relegated to just being a developer of exclusive software. Nintendo insisted on having a stake in the hardware and the deal fell through. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNES-CD

They were working on a project together but Nintendo got cold feet and pulled out of the deal, shortly after the PS1 was born. This thing was what they were designing before then.
here is the video:

I'm actually playing the only Castlevania game for the gameboy advanced that I never played as a younger man: Harmony of Dissonance. It's a fun little romp even if the only weapon is the whip. Ever since Bloodstained reached the Roguelike dungeon perk, I've been playing Binding of Isaac non-stop to hone my skills. I've already reached every single achievement on one saved game file! Then of course I'm replaying Symphony of the Night on my good ol' Xbox 360. I'm on a retro-gaming tear at the moment! XD Ever played the prequel to SOTN? It's called Rondo of Blood. If you have a Wii (or use Wii mode on a Wii U) you can go into the shop and download it.

Finished Arkham Knight the day I got it, been playing bits and pieces of Shovel Knight every now and then, and I purchased a Wii U today. Hoping to get SSB on it soon, and Bayonetta 2. Missed having a Nintendo console for a long while now. I have several games I am waiting for on Wii U this fall. Super Mario Maker Fatal Frame: Maiden of the Black Water Devils Third Xenoblade X and of course Harvest Moon Seeds of Memories

Currently playing Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma EXTEND. I really want to play Earthbound Beginnings. It's such a charming game.

I was hoping we could talk about the graphical possibilities and not the game, a completely different game, that is. ANYWAY, here's an objection I saw someone make in a different thread: In Guilty Gear Xrd, they only had to render the background, and two fully animated characters, while in Bloodstained, there could be way more stuff on screen. While that's probably a good point, one has to keep in mind all those particle effects and other things that could be added to the screen at any point. Besides, Unreal Engine 4 should also have better optimization than UE3, so it should be able to achieve the same effect with less drain on system resources. Thoughts? I've been playing the unreal tournament pre-alpha and the optimzation is extremely good, so based on that they should have no problems with hardware scaling on a multitude of platforms/system specs while achieving maximum IQ with no downgrading. That depends on the porting process Wii U and Vita themselves lack native unreal 4 support so Armature will have to port it into an existing unreal 4 pipeline. My guess would be that on these systems they would probably use the unreal 4 mobile framework and then adapt it to run on the hardware.

This game is using unreal 4 which tends to be a semi-demanding engine. I can speculate based off of other unreal 4 games I have played and factoring in the type of game it is. Minimum (probably 720p) i3/i5 processor 4gb of ram Radeon R7 250 / Geforce GT 740 or better Recommended (1080p+) i5/i7 processor 8gb of Ram Radeon R9 270 / Geforce GTX 760 or better i7 isn't a bit... too much? It's not like the game is an open world GTA-like. Hell, even in The Witcher 3 there isn't much difference between i7/i5, actually the only game that has some is GTA V. That's why a i5 2500k, a Sandy Bridge from 4 years ago is still enough for gaming. The GPU requirements sounds realistic though. It would probably run fine with an i5 which is why I mentioned it.

In 2015 it seems a bit much but technology is always progressing 4k will probably be the new HD standard in several years.

Maybe higher if you want to run resolutions like 4k but I think that will be adequate for 1080p gameplay.

Wii U has fallen to third place seems like I am in a minority.
Makes me wonder if any type of cross platform play will be implemented.

The law is in place so the foundation has been laid, but as with all things there will be resistance and there will be hardships still. History in many ways repeats itself as time marches on.
