Update 36 - Miriam Turnaround and Donut Aftermath

That was the old character 3 design, the turn around video of her has been refined her colors less contrasted and she will probably look quite good in the background.

@ castledan, good pickup and a fail by me. The contrast is more subdued, which is good, I guess for me I need either the background together or the different models together to pick up on the difference more immediately, you pointing it out helped. so thank you.

@ purifyweirdsoul, not sure about the GTA comment you make if that's a reference directly to my comment or if anyone else has made such comments. I must admit I haven't been lurking the forums anywhere near as much as what I did when the project was initially announced and unless I'm really inclined I don't feel a need to comment much or harp on about a particular subject.

But I can't see how anyone wouldn't see the top pick castledan posted in the reply to my comment and not draw similarities to that type of out style (GTA) with regards to the character model. I don't believe that is the art style the artists are necessarily aiming for, I'm not even sure where they are drawing their inspiration from outside of any Igavania works, but I'm only using the word 'cartoony' because it's a very stylised design aesthetic, which is a juxtaposition that doesn't work well, or as well as I would like personally, based on what we voted on in the last backer update (both a background shader and character shader),

It's all good though, I missed Mana's post and as I said above, a second more thorough look at Miriam's updated model really helped.

Okay! My outlandish prediction: When IGA said we'd be getting retro levels, he took that promise seriously, so we will need to hook up a cassette drive to play them.

Hmmm! We're going to see video of IGA swinging the umbrella around?

"Everyone wanted to see an animation sample. An attack with this umbrella would look like this. Hyah!"

A ROM in this context is basically a copy of the game file executeable. If ArtPlay needs the rom to record something off of, the implication is that this would be anything from early gameplay down to character animations or a tour through the world as it has been developed so far. Regardless of which scenario is accurate, its reason to be HYPE (though some scenarios are more hype-inducing than others)
