XombieMike...lol, you've got your work cut out for you. This boob issue keeps popping up all over the place. Thanks for taking the time to corral the posts into the correct threads.

People need to realize that the character model is small on the screen. So they won't be as notice-able. It was probably increased so you could see them at all. That's like saying Spartan Palmer in Halo: Spartan Strike should have a gigantic chest just so we can make sure she's a woman - that's not true, and it doesn't stand up to scrutiny. She doesn't need large (for her body type) breasts - it was simply an artistic choice by the development team. The purpose in Bloodstained isn't because "OMG she's a gurl!" but rather "there's an important element of her character design and narrative near her heart that we want to highlight and make visible at all times". There's clear intent here and I think its an interesting intent I'd like to perverse. If Miriam didn't have the curse seals on her body, her design would be totally different (note her Pure outfit where she's still busty but is totally covered up). The comparison to Halo feels a bit weird since that is a totally different game with a totally different aesthetic - no outfit, even conservative ones, from Bloodstained are likely to make sense in that game.

Ugh, I abandoned this thread earlier and now I'm being sucked back into it. Ok... because this is such a hot topic all over the internet I'm going to create a poll to gather feedback. EDIT: Updated. Poll is now at the top of this topic. I can't believe I had to make a poll about Miriam's boobs. This is silly to me personally, but feedback is important and respected.

I don`t like the fact that in the last update her breasts got bigger. I think she should have average breasts. When I see something this big, it reminds me of distasteful pics of porn actresses who went to plastic surgery. That boob there is bigger than her head, it is so disproportional..So my feedback on the issue is negative, unless Miriam kills monsters with the boob, then it is OK!

I think you should add an "I don't care" option so we can all click it. lol
About the making the breasts bigger because of the zoom out I don't think it would be necessary to make the breast bigger if the focus is on the stained glass. From my limited knowledge about sculptures I know that artists often make the head bigger on statues that are viewed from great distances. I don't think Michelangelo's David had an....oscar mayer enhancement.

XombieMike It just seems the usual way these things work. Completely fine if you choose not to add it. On that point though I would have to say there is no way in heck the team is going to change the character model off of a handful of votes on a forum. No disrespect.

Guys, I saw this posted on NeoGaf and I agree with the poster there that the solution is really not about the size of the breasts but that the cloth is too low. Here's the example posted, it looks much better and more appropriate on the quick photoshop to the right.

Bunch of male gamers complaining about fanservice being given to them... I'm sorry what is this bizzaro dimension I stepped into? Seriously though chill out people. The reality is that 95% of the time you won't even notice it once the game comes out because the character will likely be too small in relation to the entirety of the screen for such details to be obvious (no matter their size, hurr hurr)... even assuming you'll waste time nitpicking rather than playing the (fingers crossed) great game. Also I totally think the size in teaser is consistent with size shown in images linked by crocodile which, I believe, came closer to the end of campaign. But again, whatever.

I agree it looks much better with the cloth higher but then the stained glass is covered up. This is why I think the increase in size is not the way to go if the intention was to highlight the stained glass (that does not mean I give a crap about the breasts. have them however you like). I almost wonder if they were going for a corset style but it ended up like that? Who knows. Malek Deneith Perhaps I missed it but I thought everyone was just having a "chill" conversation about a change the development team made. I easily could have missed a post though. Talking about something doesn't mean people are up in arms and armed. I don't see how so many people are reaching that conclusion. As for neogaf I don't go there so I don't know/care what they are saying.

We should honestly suggest that because i think there's something to be said about her almost wanting to hide it a bit rather than wanting it exposed. Maybe villagers think she's some evil entity so she tries to CONCEAL her curse.

Looking at the collage ZombieBuni posted above, that photoshop obscures the curse mark to a degree that is not seen in any of the concept art. The impression I got is that they wanted the curse mark over her heart to be as visible as possible. Am I wrong? As for concerns of a "nip slip" or whatever, I feel too many outfits in too many games (even very conservative and fully armored ones) are impractical in one way or another - that's just a natural part of fantasy. I'm surprised that for some/a few people their suspension of disbelief is strained here but I guess suspension of disbelief is a very subjective thing.

Just wanted to point out we're... having a discussion over something that's ultimately going to be irrelevant when playing, that's all.

This whole issue is ridiculous and, quite frankly, I kind of hope they pay no mind to the feedback on such a trivial matter regardless which way the numbers go. They should do what they want. Listening to fan feedback is fine and all but I do not want a game designed by committee. That kind of thing never turns out well. The model is still clearly Miriam and any details like this and the extra piece of shoulder clothing should be left to the discretion of the character designer, the modelers, and Iga. To clarify, I'm not saying I don't want you guys expressing your opinions about it. I just hope they ignore all of us and do what THEY want to do. Putting too much stock into fan feedback can water down the creator's vision and result in an inferior product. I don't want us deciding the little details like this for them.

They didn't ask our input on this so I'm sure we're in the clear. Malek Deneith I understand. I think the discussion stems from everyone wanting to talk about the game but all we got was one cropped picture this time. lol

The poll should have raise cloth up a tad so it doesn't look like there should be a nipple there option ;P
The size is fine and that isn't really the issue, and it's not a huge issue but it's worth discussing. What else are we gonna do while we wait?

Since they are adding in multiple costumes anyway maybe they can have both the current one and a higher-cropped one for those who prefer it.

What else are we gonna do while we wait? I don't know why but the way you worded that was so funny. If it was added to the poll it should be written exactly like that. hahaha Outstanding. As for what else we could do I may break out my ruler and measure to see if Miriam's bangs are the same length as before. If not I will make a thread. That'll kill a day.

As an example we know Miriam uses the curse mark on her back to summon ghosts: Since we know the crystal curse can be used to conjure powerful magic, I have no clue if something similar can be done with the mark on her chest and/or if the developers intend to go that route. As an example, Shura is a demon hunter from the anime/manga Blue Exorcist: While obviously her design is way more risque & fanservicey than Miriam's base design, the tattoos on her chest is where she summons her sword from. Could something even remotely similar be planned for Miriam? I have no idea but it seems the possibility is 100% there and hasn't been ruled out.

Guys, I saw this posted on NeoGaf and I agree with the poster there that the solution is really not about the size of the breasts but that the cloth is too low. Here's the example posted, it looks much better and more appropriate on the quick photoshop to the right. My only problem is the curse is hidden more. They could make flat as a board if it made people happy, but to me the curse is the whole reason for her look and the "giant" bosom. The idea from what I recall is to show the curse over her heart, if we cover more it won't be obvious, if the chest shrinks it will be a smaller "canvas". Although I say it's a non-issue the thing that is an issue for me is the curse being noticeable. Face is too distracting a place to put it, she has it on her legs already, and the rest of her body is covered anyway. Lore wise we need a somewhat shown chest where the curse covers the heart. Beyond that I hope they don't change Miriam too much. Edit: Maybe? But that might assume plot/character details we don't have (unless I forgot/missed something). As an example we know Miriam uses the curse mark on her back to summon ghosts: Since we know the crystal curse can be used to conjure powerful magic, I have no clue if something similar can be done with the mark on her chest and/or if the developers intend to go that route. This is something important that I didn't even think about, we have only seen a front view of Miriam so far! How are they handling her back?!
