I believe the connotation is that the forum itself is an obscure place to host the results, and that they should have been long-form posted in the KS update. Instead, Angel provided an excerpt of a few answers with a link to the thread. I think what he did makes sense (and I like our forum being used for things of course woo), but if you're someone who only cares about communication within the KS updates/comments (as I've established that this certain number of people does), then something anywhere else is invalid and dodging etc. "People won't click that link" is an argument, but we can only be held accountable to a point when it comes to paying attention.
So that's the logic to it, primarily. But yeah, no other update thread has been stickied this long.

This part is so awesome... Releasing the game when the desired quality has been achieved is most important. (96.3%)So if you choose to listen to the fans, everything promised in the kickstarter (plus DLC for the regular retail copy) will be avaliable on the actual disc/gamecard of the kickstarter version of the game... right? Or is it desired to not have everything on disc and/or game card? Is it already decided that the physical games will be incomplete? I'd love some clarification, please. We got the answer a year later. Day one patches, etc. And it seems like the previously backer-only content will be DLC, as well. Some parts of the survey were easier to honour, but I guess it also depends on what you mean by desired quality.

Well, yes, the meaning of "desired quality" is important, indeed. Why do "day one patches" necessarily indicate poor quality, as long as the patches are polished? It is a pity that the physical media will be incomplete, in a sense, but the game itself will be of a high quality once everything's been downloaded. Again, I understand the desire for a physical version to be entirely comprehensive, but in today's world that's pretty tough. I mean, even if all the stretch goals had been released on-disc immediately, they wouldn't be able to do that with subsequent releases, like story expansions or such, which would need to be downloaded anyways. :\

Kids these days.
Games back in the day were simple things. Teams could fill a tiny, single-room office and created classics we still talk about decades later.
Every step of increase in graphical capacity and complexity of the content (MechWarrior Online involves maths the average person never even experienced and even so remains very much a 'niche' game) calls for greater talent on numerous levels. Artists, 3d modeling, writers, coders, consultants, musicians, actors, editors, etc.
What has quite literally gone in two completely opposite directions to extremes is consumer expectation and entitlement. As the demands, costs, and development increase, consumer understanding has flatly decreased thanks to gaming truly being an industry awash with indie developers creating true works of art right back in that tiny office. Likewise, fans seeing their beloved IP become a thing they can interact with are completely blinded to glaring errors and are yes-men (and yes-women) that are likewise as vocal.
Regardless, masterpieces in small offices and limited resources *are not* the standard. Pop-culture it: so Captain America is the best a human can possibly be in terms of physical and mental capabilities. The vocal consumer is expecting every developer to operate on Captain America levels without empathy or understanding of anything less *or pretends that sub-par developers already have achieved a masterpiece simply because its their favoritest IP ever*.
Consumer myopia.
I believe Bloodstained will be the quirky work of art that many modern folks see SotN as, but with all the bells and whistles as well as a few new tricks that have been gained over the years with the DS titles. It will be an Igavania that we have hungered for since Konami folded them up and tossed them in the pachinko bin, perhaps more.
All this, despite a first outing for ArtPlay.
I respect the learning experience they are currently undergoing.

Getting a salesman to mar the pastiche they are painting in order to sell a game is simply bad business, flatly told.
Kickstarters are risky. THEY ARE RISKY. You are buying a product that *does not yet exist* unless it's by those vetted folks who already have created the frame of the product, but need to fill in the rest with a team. ArtPlay gave it a shot and made history. They sought to be an indie dev contending on a 'AAA' arena. Well, that's really hard.
Four years later and the landscape of the gaming industry has bucked wildly for Bloodstained with the Vita losing support from Sony and having to switch (HAAAAAAH!) to a portable to meet that demographic in so short a span has to be nothing short of a *nightmare* for the team that's currently losing sleep working on it.
Now, business is not a person, and individual people can be duplicitous enough as it is. 505 has its interests, ArtPlay has its interests, IGA has his interests, and each of his teams and each subset of team members has their own interests. Getting this all to go the same damned direction is nothing short of a goddamned miracle. If you get that miracle, you hang onto it with both of your hands and let it take you wherever the hell it cares to go.
But, that's the best situation. Inti came and went, other teams hopped on, Wayforward jumped in at the 11th hour, etc. People read this as 'what a mess!'
No. No. And also no.
What I think is IGA and those who have decided to place cash in his name and reputation that are not just the backers did so because they, for their own reasons, believed in his vision. And to that, I fully believe and am convinced IGA wants nothing but to please his fans and also attract some new ones by continuing what he is proud of being a part of most.
There is integrity in this. He wants a good product. He's not out to get us. Salesmen and Quality Assurance are *PAID* to put as positive a face to events balanced against NDA stuff in order to keep us engaged and make us all be reassured that it's all going well even if plans have changed.
And, again, in this case, I think it has. I know there have been scores of 'HOLY FECKING SHEET* moments which are probably only increasing as launch approaches and the bugs some dev didn't want to deal with at the time are now being bashfully reported, etc.
If any of this sounds familiar, it means you've had a job at a place that paid you to do a thing that probably had at least moments of intense unfun-ness because, y'know, it's called 'work'.
Knowing all this and having been part of a deeply imperfect business, much like I still show my mug every Monday with a refreshed hatred for the job, I'd still back the hell outta this game even what ended up at the $60 'rip-off' tier and gladly.
I believe in IGA's vision, too and I believe in the people with money that believe in his vision.
This ain't Activision. This ain't EA. This ain't Ubisoft.
It's gonna be a fun game.

The survey was open to everyone. It was put on every media outlet and even had some external articles written about it. Anyone that had a Google account and was interested could take it. Little bit late reply, but I personally asked for a refund for another 8x Alchemy's treasure because of this poll. Yes the poll was made during the pledgemanager/while it was open, But the results were not presented until it was closed. So that's basically what I meant, and My worries for the results (leaving the poll open for EVERYONE were true) Also nothing really proves whether or not all those claiming to be backers actually were backers to begin with. Since you just had to tick the box "are you a backer" yes or no. It's quite fair to say that you could assume that they who would want these "Exclusives" to be available for all would be the ones more interested in voting, and since you can't say for sure how many were actual backers or not. It could very well have been a huge majority of non-backers and lowest tier backers voting yes to get these Exclusives that a lot of people actually paid extra/overprice to get. Now as the game is released, I purchased the game for ~$20 because of my current location, Will get the DLC's that were suppose to be exclusive, probably for ~$3 because of the same regional situation, adding the Soundtrack is another $3. I already got Curse of the moon which ALL backers got for free so if you compare that to the people who backed the $60 digital version of the game if you lived in any of these regions you even made a loss of $34. But taking region out of the equation, Lowest digital copy tiers $28 , +$10 for DLC's, and $10 for Soundtrack = $48 vs $60 = $12 overprice both tiers got Curse of the moon for free. Compare it with Retail price, digital @ Steam selling at -10% discount = you can pickup the Game + Iga's backpack DLC + Soundtrack for $55 so even that is 5 dollar cheaper then they who backed the game 4 years ago. The only one actually getting something out of this are the lowest tier ($28) backers, and that kind of is a bit bad.
