@enkeriagin may as well consider that you wouldn't mind a series of dedicated quests regarding ingredients to find, or a bartering system. As for limited supplies, the gamers that love to hoard items will end complaining that they couldn't know these resources were finite. Do you really want that to happen? Sure if it is an option, and really no need for it. Extra potions along the way are always nice, but the effort should be minimal. But for the sake of the "completelist" gamers and those that like the concept, it would be a nice thing to add. But really. Ready cooked and nice food are the way to go in Castlevania, so why not have it in Bloodstained? Or just buy some from the currency I have been collecting. Limited supplies are like a quest, and not an actual number. You find 1, you get 1. Thats about it.

Yes, the focus should be on survival and skill, recovery should be secondary, always. I admit I never used potions or food in CSOTN, since Alucard got plenty of ways to recover HP (Dark Metamorphosis, Soul Steal, the Mourneblade and so on and easy to reach save points). The game was easy. I admit I relied on potions to survive in the other games (esp' when confronting the bosses the first time).
Let's see how balanced out everything will be. It is one of my biggest questions for the game, but no one will answer that, naturally.

The unfortunate thing about food in the Igavanias is that in the games where their HP recovery is more useful, they're much less quirky and fun to use ...you just see a single digit quantity go down in your menu and your HP bar go up.

From a FB group, with both purifyweirdshard & Sunraiser
The Question: Would you rather find ingredients to get a complete meal later on. This by either making the food, or use the components as a currency / transmute into food to eat? Or would you rather find ready-to-eat food to save time? Perhaps you would like to see them both, as an free option for everyone, while potions are the real health and ether regain? People responded:Both. Definitely both. But like in Breath of the Wild, cooked food gives you MUCH better stat boosts and healing.
[Insert that meme about the Mexican girl saying 'Why not both?' here] 'cuz, really I don't see why both wouldn't work XD Broken record here, but both. Find prepared food that can be used right away and ingredients to cook/transmute higher quality healing items, possibly even with temporary stat boosts.never have been a fan of making foods. imo it takes away from gameplay. I like finding food as another way of gaining things such as hp/mp. Ready to eat food! Give me wall turkey!Doesnt matter. I rarely use food items I can see both. Food can be used for healing, while cooked food can be used for healing and an added benefit, such as added damage or defense.find cooked food. Absolutely no patience for 'cooking' in any game ever. Ingredients. I think the cooking in BotW was amazing and makes me want more cooking in games.Both. It would be cool to get, say, eggs, and bread. eat them indovidually, or combine them for egg on toast, which provides better health restoration. -- and a dialogue --Purify: What if the food can be my familiar? Me: Familiar Food. Like flying pizza? - Flying spaghetti monster? Purify: absolutely flying pizza...or rolling pizzas. A levitating plate of turkey. Donuts with wings. All of the above Me: How about stepping up a notch: Flying Fridge! Luke: Something that restores health slowly over time? Me: That is probably like a gear-thing she could wear, or a skill of some kind. Maybe a shard with a passive effect like the "walk armor" in the series which generate health when walking and such. I think poison is a approach when talking about food. Sunraiser: Well a cheesecake floating ahead of me would do wonders for my incentive to explore. 😜 Purify: I think Luke means that the floaty food would restore your HP over time since it's just kinda hanging out and Miriam is taking inferred little bites from it as times passes. *thumbs up* Anyway, food familiar is a great idea. We should tell Angel!! Me: That is an awesome idea! I will copy all of these ideas for Angel and Mana For some reason I can't tag Angel.
