Long time lurker, first time poster. Been mega hyped for this demo. But alas it seems my monitor doesn't support the game's native resolution. It tells me "Input signal out of range." While obviously not a bug, I did look all over for a sort of configuration file so that I could externally change the resolution or change it to Windowed, but I couldn't find anything of the sort. Alt+Enter doesn't activate Windowed mode either. Is there a way to change the resolution outside the game itself? If not, I highly suggest incorporating something that could let us do that. It's impossible for me to play the game without it. The demo's default start up resolution is 1600x900. Are you able to run the game when you change the monitor resolution or NVIDIA display settings? Right now we don't have a way to change the settings outside of the game. The monitor is a bit of an oldie. It can't run anything higher than 1440 x 900. Right now it's the only thing I have. If there was even a command to run it in Windowed it'd be fine. Is there no config file like a .ini or something? I suppose if it's not there it's not there. @.@

Just a heads up, for whatever reason, the demo decided to use my HMD (Oculus Rift CV1) as the primary display! While this is really cool, it's kind of buggy. Here's some screenshots of what the "left eye" was seeing: Basically, it looks like the UI elements, including the life meter and dialog boxes are stretched across each eye separately, instead of the same image being visible in both eyes like a HUD. As a result, it was difficult to enter the settings screen, read the dialogs, or navigate any menus in VR. Also, the VR viewport was zoomed out way too far, so the characters and enemies were too far away to see very well.

About half way through my first play-through, the sound cut out randomly. It actually muted my entire computer. I had to restart my PC to fix the issue. Second play-through it did not happen. If you're using the monitor speaker through HDMI, this could potentially be the reason for the sound issue (it probably has something to do with our known sound bug). Did this happen while wearing a headphone? We were aware of random sound cut but not the entire PC. Thanks for sharing!

Just played through the demo, I love it. But I found a bug/glitch? When I used head flail against the hidden room entrance that can't be opened, the head flail appears on the other side of the room for a single frame or so. Don't know if this has been noticed before. It happened in this room against the wall I am closest to. EDIT: seems to happen in any small room where you can see both walls , tried it multiple times in multiple rooms, and it happened consistently. You gotta jump and the use head flail on the right wall and this causes it to appear on the left side of the room in the lower corner. I haven't been able to do the same from the left side of the room. Geforce GTX 570 Intel i5-2300 12 GB RAM windows 10 I believe the team were talking about this issue in the past. I'll let them know that it hasn't been fixed yet. Thanks!

If you swing the sword just before you land then quickly slide Miriam will not switch to her slide animation, instead you slide across the floor in the standing position.

Running the game with intel HD graphics as my graphics processor; results in green filter over non-UI elements (menu and HUD are normal) Also when I'm running other programs in the background I notice something strange. When there happens to be slowdowns due to insufficient RAM, some SPECIFIC inputs suffer input delay, while others suffer no input delay whatsoever; most notably the attack button and moving up/down in the pause menu. Regardless of slow down normal d-pad/jump inputs respond instantaneously, but attacks vary inconsistently from a half second delay to a 3 second delay, and in menu d-pad input is very delayed. Windows 8.1 Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 2.20GHz 64 bit OS x64 based processor Intel integrated HD graphics (530 I believe)

The team is doing a great job so far, I'm loving the controls and the presentation. My only suggestion would be to make sure background round assets like the cannons and crow's nests on the Galleon have more polygons in the final build.
As for bugs, my client did this thing after I collected the Head Flail shard where it froze for about 10 or 15 seconds before it decided to go through with the attack I had alt-tabbed out of the game for a little while before getting the shard, if that has anything to do with it
EDIT: also a weirdly specific sound bug when you kick-slide into a wall, it makes no sound (which makes sense as you aren't sliding), but when you stay down and slide over the debris of a smashed candelabra, it makes no sound
EDIT 2: It only works if the wall you initially slide into has candelabra debris in the area under your feet

apparently amy has a weakness to doorways, theres a spot where if amy moves into a doorway it will take 4 damage like you hit it, trying to figure out if this is a property of all doorways (like an anti mob barrier to keep weak enemies from accidentally hitting you during a screen transition and knocking you back into the previous room) or if that particular doorway has gained some wierd power and will join you in the fight against the demons >3>/ (ill post where i found this later, curious to see how long before someone else finds/confirms this)

I keep getting an error message and the game won't open.
The moment I click on the Bloodstained icon or click on the play button through steam for the demo, I get an immediate error message. And I mean the error message pops up instantly. The game doesn't even attempt to load.
The error message reads as follows:

Failed to start game (unknown error).

I've deleted it and reinstalled and followed every other recommendation through Steam support and nothing has any effect at all. All of my other Steam games work just fine.
I'll try to link a photo of it later of the error message. Any help on how to get past this would be much appreciated.

I am currently running windows 10 and the old wireless xbox 360 controler. For some reason I think X and A have traded places and the Right stick does not seem to be fully working... (She seems to be responding with it but never casts in the direction I'm pointing and half the time it feels like I'm playing a game of spin the blowtorch)

I'm getting sporadic hanging/freezing while playing that lasts about 3-4 seconds each time. It tends to happen when there are enemies around and when setpiece stuff is happening. I can get through the level alright, but the boss is unplayable because of constant freezing.
I'm using: Intel i5-760 Nvidia gtx 660 ti 16gb ram Windows 7 64-bit
Edit: Forgot to mention, this happens in both fullscreen and windowed and I also tried installing the game on different hdd's, no luck.

Demo loaded fine from steam big picture mode controls could use some tightening (was using Steam controller?) Michiru Yamane is a musical goddess love the look and feel and different death animations (sword/fire spell) immediately went to that happy SOTN place would like Miriam to be faster (I assume that comes with leveling up) back dash is not broken considering you cannot dash into the fore or background I am so looking forward to this game It is Beautiful

Yeah I'm getting the reported fatal error. I be tried in every screen res and in full and Windows mode. It gets to the now loading screen, remains black with music (which sounds great)

Here's a couple bugs I've run into on my playthrough.
1.) During my time spent farming Amy for the rare shard, I actually had it drop once, but, because I had killed Amy inside of the wall, it was unable to either spawn, or reach me through the wall, so I had to spend more time farming it again. Probably an issue with the shards either not spawning off screen (doubtful), or the shards being solid objects and unable to path through walls. I imagine this is an easy fix.
2.) The game, when initially switched to Windowed mode, won't let me re-position the window, until I've switched it back into Full Screen, and once more into Windowed. This is a requirement in order for me to move it to my second screen.

Few things I noticed.
- Pressing the jump and attack button at the same time: Miriam takes out her sword while jumping but does not actually attack, she holds the sword in her hand.
- Pressing jump and Y button: Animation bug. Miriam does her regular jump animation (without her arm stretching out) and the special attacks appears in the correct place (like when she actually stretches out her arm in front of her)
- Backdash Attack Cancel: Attack > backdash immediately after and attack again. (This has been present in many Castlevania games, so not sure if it is actually a bug or a 'hidden feature'.)
- Air Attack Land Attack: When you attack right before your land on the floor and then attack again right after you have landed, you will be able to do 2 quick attacks right after each other. (This has been present in many castlevania games as well, so again not really sure if it is actually a bug or a 'hidden feature')
- Land shard use: If you press Y right before you land nothing will happen, the sound effect will play and thats it.
- Hitbox inconsistencies: I noticed this especially when fighting dullahammer. I would stand right outside of his ranger, but the moment I attack in that range I would get damaged, because Miriam seems to be doing a small step forward when doing the sword attack. The kick attack, allot of times the foot of Miriam would overlap with the enemies, but it would not register as a hit. (sounds like the hitbox isnt overlapping the model properly)
- Directional special attack(R bumper): when you tilt the stick to any direction, let go of the stick and quickly hit the right bumper, the special attack would be aimed towards the camera. Likely an issue with animation blendspaces. It seems the neutral position of the blendspace has Miriam aiming towards the camera.
- Jump in air: Right after you walk of a ledge there is a split second where you can still jump.
For what it's worth I recorded some gameplay videos, currently in the progress of processing. When done I will upload it to Youtube and add timestamps to the bugs listed above.

I played the game in the default screen settings it had. The 1600x whatever, can't quite remember, with fullscreen. It worked fine, though I had some frame rate issues. It may have been my computer but it's pretty new and the specs aren't all that bad.
My main issue was after I finished the game I changed the video settings to 1920x...1080? I think? When I went to play the game after this it crashed. Not sure if that's related to the already mentioned issue with the squished screen.
I'll post back when I can look up my computer's specs and the exact video settings I was using.
Also, since people are pointing out the word "Familiar" being misspelled... AM I the ONLY one bothered by the fact that it says Galleon "Minerva" with two end quotes instead of with an open and close quote?
