Favorite Anime/Manga

It's way too hard for me to prioritize anime... but here are a few that I like;

Vampire Hunter D
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust

Those two are excellent old school movies based on some of my most favorite books. My favorite artist, Yoshitaka Amano does a lot of art for Hunter D. If you are a Castlevania fan... (Duh, of course you are) you need to see Bloodlust!

I recently finished watching Parasyte. It was good. I want the mangas, but I can't get them right now. As a fan of The Thing, I really like this.

On a lighter note, I love Sgt. Frog... my wife and I watched that show together and when I proposed to her on stage at a concert at an anime convention, I quoted one of the characters. You can watch that proposal here:

I love Gundam a lot, just in general. I've debated countless times on Amazon thinking "should I get that model or not...", in the end my wallet has remained in tact, but it's always been a struggle.
I'm not a hipster, but a few of my favorites are some old ones. I would say a couple of my core favorites are Battle Programmer Shirase and Kamisama Kazoku (God Family). Both are rather short, and BPS leaves on a cliffhanger and never got a continuation, but that also may be why I like them so much, because I was left still wanting more. Some current favorites are Ore Monogatari, Baby Steps, World Trigger, and DanMachi.

I don't read a lot of manga, but I get hooked when I start one. My all time favorite at the moment is Liar Game. I hope it gets an adaptation someday.

Well yeah I just thought Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, and FLCL were givens.

And Full Metal Alchemist will have to be both. Got the manga and have seen both animes.

No one has mentioned Escaflowne yet!
Personally I didn't care for the movie they did... Should never try to cram a 27 episode series into a 90 minute movie.... NEVER.

But the actual series I love! In fact Escaflowne is the series that really got me into watching anime.
So Top 5 for me?
1. Trigun!!!!
2. Cowboy Bebop
3. Escaflowne
4. Guran Lagan
5. Outlaw Star

FLCL is a close 6th...

Oh! and for movies to me a different catagory than series.
Movies for me is a short list:

This really is a tough one, but if I had to pick a few they would be:

Hellsing (manga + OVA)
The Monogatari franchise (Bake, Nise, Second Season + manga)
Steins;Gate (Anime + Visual Novel)
NGE
Cowboy Bebop
Gundam Unicorn
Ippo
Usagi Drop (I find this series so endearing, except for that last bit in the manga...... *shudders*)

Kara no Kyoukai.

Don't feel bad/awkward.  Heck I own Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain, and Trigun.  I've only seen pieces of .hack//sign but I did always enjoy the music.

Ruroni Kenshin is indeed a personal favorite of mine.
