So it has been quite some time since I had posted anything Iga/Kojima art wise. I felt like a lot as been going on with myself as well as many of my other projects. I do, however, have a few nice portraits that are very Iga, very Vania, very Igavania. Mostly tied to Ravenloft's inspiration. A new edition to the Castlevanialoft champions, Leo Dilisnya. Not an actual living character per se as he is a fleshy construct Frankenstein's monster. He hopes that with his unwarranted second chance at the land of the living that he would aid our heroes to end Strahd's curse. Well, at least that's the idea.
| |
Now with these two, if you recall, I have drawn these two characters in black and white some time ago. Well, now they're in color respectively. Veles and Adeline, or Grace as some would call her. The eyes were the central focus, mostly, as you can tell. I have also made vast improvements on their facial features as well.
This is all I have for you guys. Sorry I have not been around the forums for some time. I have been busy and busy still with this new job. I don't fancy such a job in doing electrical work in buildings and stuff, but I have to get money from somewhere and right now I don't have much luck to launch any of my projects off the ground. The release of Bloodstain draws near though! I had thought about using the Beta Demo as a source of visual reference to do a small mini comic as I had promised, but I am using my best judgement to wait for the game itself to come out because not much of the story is revealed and I don't really have a narrative to work off of for a 3 page scene.
Well, I wish you all well and good fortune. Have a blessed night.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone. Things have been dragging slow, but I picking up the pace just a bit now. There are two pictures I would like to share here. Here is a restoration of an old painting which I did back in 2006. I started my first Castlevania tabletop rpg I had once home-brewed with a couple of friends after High School. Even though it only lasted one session, I still painted a poster of the 2 player characters and the NPCs in the back. Here's another one I did for Bloodstained which I had forgotten to put up. This is more like a crossover, but it would still be AMAZING to see in a Ravenloft game. The captions bubbles were thrown in there for comedic effect, not really a scenario I would picture exactly. Really just a gimmick if anything. Later on I am hoping to open up a small project that's like a comic, but with more visual than anything. I haven't decided if it'll have any dialogue, but I will be wrapping up an major project soon to start on this next one.

Hello again everyone, Because I'm on the lookout for Goofball I decided to come back in and see how are things going since my absence. I forgotten that I had an art piece or two that I forgot to post up here, but luckily today is much more fitting since it is April 1st after all. A big surprise for you all my fellow forum friends that I am bringing back, behold, the Pillar Men of Bloodstained! Forgotten about this? So did I, but I give my thanks to Goofball for reminding me. I wish you all a Happy Easter, from me to you. Happy Easter Hunting!

From the bottom of my heart Mana, you and Iga are more than welcome. It was a pleasure and an honor to all of us to contribute to this gift and no, this isn't an April fools joke. I really mean it.

Even though this may have already been established by the fans that the atmosphere would more than likely be like that Castlevania had, but with a fresh new outlook. Then I thought of this while I was considering the artwork, level design, environments, and setting for the story in which may or may not dictate the atmosphere of the game. In Castlevania the setting was in Wallachia, the atmosphere of a haunting nights-cape down the countryside which will eventually take you to the Castle. For Bloodstained, correct me if I am wrong, has more of London setting. When I think of London in a dark action horror genre, I think something around the lines of the Nightmare Creatures game, A Penny Dreadful series, or the 2010 Wolfman movie. These two settings holds a lot of similarities in terms of atmosphere, but they're both completely different. What do you guys think? How would you like to see the atmosphere in Bloodstained or what do you think the setting will feel more like?

I know exactly what you're going through. Our inner-demons can take many forms, but nothing is worse than being attacked by them while your guard is down. My hope is that we overcome these odds no matter how heavy the day gets nor how dark the night becomes. If human beings can endure through dire straights, then we can withstand so much more than we think we can. I'll fight depression along with you my friend.

I remember this movie. I watched the Spanish version of this on YouTube some time ago. If this isn't one that doesn't remind me of Amano's style, I will not know what else that does these days. We need more animated movies like this in this style.

It seems there is variety in the deaths of the enemies. But what you guys have seen so far, does it satisfy enough?Enemies, going up in smoke without any additional effect more than they "fade away" or "burns up softly" is what we might have in many cases when we perhaps KICK an enemy to death..So the question is, how do we make the death more satisfying?I suggested some but here are a smaller break of it all.- Leaving a corpse behind is more "meaty" than see a corpse disappear, unless that corpse is a spectral or spirit of some kind.
- Blood on walls, floor and around the victim is an additional feature that would satisfy hardcore-gamers that are into it, even if the corpse just "fell down in a pile".
- If using a heavy attack, make the corpse actually fly / knockback accordingly based on the thrust of attack vs. mass
- Elemental attack which is the weakness of that monster (fire vs ice etc.) would indicate with critical hits, and / or final blow could add additional sound fx, short ones based on the weapon or item you used, instead of having a library for 100 enemies, how about 25 sfx based on weapon-type instead. Blunt, Cut, Fire, Frost. etc. - Even if the corpse just fell down
- If an enemy burst in flames and just goes away in the wind, let us actually see it was at least in pain before it went.
- Example: Morte, if it were to wave around it arms like crazy when it's head is cut off, we know its in pain, and it would be more satisfying in a way.
- Example II: Morte get a slide-kick to it and get stunned. Do not let it burn up! Make it regret it never saw it by struggling to stay in shape but inevitably just go reversed into a goo again and disappear like it came!
I see the video of how the monster just burns away to cinders, that would be satisfying to see if there were a swarm of 10 or so in the same room. Quick death to be able to get to the next enemy as fast as possible, but I can only see this with low level monsters. Enkeria's idea had given me another idea. When the player does that double jump and dive kicks into the head of the enemy, it would be nice to stun lock for a short duration so that it build momentum for another aerial attack. Which is why I really like Enk's slide kick idea. Maybe if there was a critical hit from the slide kick it would cause an enemy to trip and fall? I think we have something going here.
