The group has built in wide spread popularity... Every backer could potentially have been a commenter, all are welcome. 30k+ comments... Seems like a decent number to justify a clan around.

If you want to have a better chance of getting your clan through, find a potential clan that has a good amount of wide spread popularity, that is not on Youtube, Facebook, or Twitch. The idea here was that the KS comment section _was that group_. i'm not sure how we're defining "popularity" though. we obviously didn't have 100k+ people in the comments (if we're saying # of subscribers = popularity). And i understand your point about capitulation. working in customer service myself, setting a precedent can be dangerous. Maybe my blinders are on and i'm not seeing the forest from the trees; i just think the comment section helped make the campaign the success it was, in which case that should be justification enough. but sure, maybe it was those YT groups constantly talking about the KS campaign to draw in pledges... regardless, this thread has probably run its course. Probably the only thing worth discussing/documenting going forward is what each clan's weapon/cheat code is. |

hybridmiriamI'm not trying to tear people away from their planned clans :-) I was just thinking for those of us who don't have a clan... And for the purposes of credits, those who backed multiple $100 tiers could technically choose multiple clans. and you're right, they probably don't feel like it's worth the effort/money given that everyone else would likely happily throw their hat into an existing clan... i just kinda feel like the comment section had some cool people in it and i'd rather associate myself with them for posterity. My last comment on the KS comment section pretty much summed up how i feel @michael hubert
work paid for by the the funds raised, right? considering IGA never expected to surpass $800k, i think there are some spare funds lying around, maybe the extra lying in PayPal could cover it.
i realize different stretch goals cost varying amounts of $$ and people really want to see those successful over a new clan, but really, an add'l clan is a drop in the bucket here in terms of costs
not trying to be a jerk, but i just don't see why there'd be resistance to this if there really was an appreciation for the people who helped make this possibleIn the end, i don't see it happening so i'll just have to throw a dart and pick something. I wasn't upset or anything brother, just stating how hard it would be to choose between the Zaibatsu and you bunch of awesome guys. Lol. |

I don't see a Clan Iga option there. Maybe what's listed on there isn't all that's there? I don't know.
I think it's kind of weird that they wouldn't have a Clan Iga or have the Inti Creates youtube channel on there.

Figured the code would have you shout" WOOT!" once in a while when you get an enemy drop. That is all it would do! Just and idea!

The way we got Operation Akumaclan done was to send a KS message expressing why we believed we needed to be a clan just as much as any youtube partner. Operation: Akumajo has over 32,000 members though. I doubt all of us sent the messages, but we were obviously flooding them.

That was exactly the response I got from Fangamer, not enough people to justify the extra work. I guess if we had some idea of how many people would be interested it would help(or hurt) our cause. Worst case scenario whisper, we can do the "tag" thing in our individual credits... |

Thomas yea, but i guess i'd rather hear "No comment section clan" from Ben Judd as he has more pull with Igarashi-san/Inti than FanGamer. and while Akumajo and the others have "high numbers" of people, i haven't seen very many people here, or in the comments section, actually identify with preexisting clans. and as you've mentioned, worst case scenario, we can tag ourselves via the credits... _assuming_ that there are no character restrictions that would prevent that.

I dunno i went with Cat o' nine tails since it was the first whip clan but i would like to see everything each clan unlocks in game so we can all get a better idea who to go with.

The main reason our clan request was approved is because we were actively informing, engaging, and mobilizing thousands of fans to open their wallets throughout the Kickstarter campaign. The Youtube Partners have millions of subscribers, but we have direct access to the IGAvania fanbase. |
