I like Shader 3 / Backgroud 3 and I voted for them. About the graphic (I'm a PC player) I hope that I will be able to play Bloodstained at 2560x1440 resolution and 60+ FPS. I don't want to see a 30 FPS lock and 1080p of max resolution.

I don't want to see a 30 FPS lock and 1080p of max resolution. Another good argument for the Arc System Works method. GG Xrd uses flat textures for the characters and then uses shaders for detailing so that the game is upward scalable with no loss of detail as opposed to having to use high resolution textures to achieve similar results(that will one day be insufficient anyway). I'm not sure if that method would be capable of producing the kind of painterly effect that Miriam's cloth textures have, though.

One of my friends on Steam have GG Xrd and from his screenshot I can see an awesome graphic detail.

I gotta be honest. I was a bit nubbeh about the differences between backgrounds. Shader 3 was a clear winner for me; but Background 1 and 3 befuddled me. XD.

I don't know if I mentioned this before but Mana can you personally thank the team for the way they used the platforms here. While floating platforms aren't a HUGE deal to me and I can live with them, I absolutely LOVE that they actually included them as apart of the pillars. It helps create a more believable world you're in. The team are doing great work

thats pretty interesting, can you think of anything in particular why you missed them? I think mostly the depth of them, but also they don't really pop out to me (lighting). They look (at least to me) farther back than the chandelier and blood fountain. They are darker than the candles/lights, my eyes are more drawn to the lights than the platforms. I think the platforms need to really stand out instead of blending in. I am sure I could get used to it, but I honestly never even saw them. Are the candles/lights supposed to be breakable? If so, It will be weird having things in the background be interactive. Again, I am sure I could get used to it, but the depth/interaction would not flow/feel natural to me. It is like interacting with the background enemies in Shadow Complex, you don't even notice them at first, until you realize you are taking damage from something. And those enemies don't blend as well as the platforms here in the Bloodstained pic. It is one of those "oh snap" moments, like when I was playing Shovel Knight with my friend and I could quick swap between weapons and he was like "are you serious I never knew you could do that, I finished the game by swapped sub weapons in the pause menu the whole time". This 2.5D game is going to be beautiful. We can all tell. Not to mention the possibility of separate "rooms" actually being in the visible background of other rooms. (I originally thought that we might not be able to jump on those platforms right in that room. We may have to move to another room to do so.)

I feel like they standout pretty well. Haha Either way, more of this Inti and Artplay Platforms that are actually apart of the environment are world building and great

yea, I might be in the very small minority, and as it was said this is a static image. I don't think anything should change on my account since I seem to be the only one, but it definitely was one of those moments for me when it was pointed out. Totally fine though, happens to me sometimes as well. If anything, I'm glad I mentioned it so you can see it now. Its good stuff!

It gives the game so much character. The screenshots and animations have already blown my expectations out of the water...I hope the entire game does that as well! Such rich Gothic environments, but at the same time colorful and elegant. Wow!

I don't like the environment the more t I see it. The dynamic lighting when it reflects on objects like the marble, it makes it look like a real 3D object....

^ To be fair, once we see the backgrounds incorporated with the updated visuals we have been seeing and with the shaders locked in, I'm sure we will see improvements. Really looking forward to a full playthrough video <3

I just wanted to say how beautiful the visual effects look from taking a gander at demo footage. From the level up, to the shard collecting, to the abilities. We will finally have a sidescroller that has more Beautiful effects than SOTN. Any gifs of some of the effects or pics would be cool to post here

I'd love to see the water interact with Miriam and the ship as it moves around, but they gotta keep the FPS up for console versions, so maybe not.
