MGSV:TPP anticipation thread!

I'm going to be renting the game. I liked MGS 1-4, didn't like Peace Walker (too grindy) and Ground Zeroes, and Phantom Pain seems like it's just the latter two games mixed together. If there ends up being too much game or feels too time-consuming to beat the main story as a rental, I guess I'll just watch a good let's play of it that goes through it and all the secrets and extras about a year or so later.

I also took the liberty of reading a bunch of leaked spoilers from a player's guide. It's going to be amusing watching the internet's reaction to one story development in particular.

Wasn't planning on posting them. Plus, with the way the guide is written there's still some more major details missing and the spoilers might end up being more like half-truths.

Totally. If the info and plot details I read were accurate, context could change everything and make them seem less (or more) dumb.

"Goobsausage said Big Boss kills Dumbledore at the end of Chapter 5, but it turns out it was actually young Decoy Octopus disguised as Dumbledore with David Hayter's voice working with Big Boss to stage an assassination attempt to distract Skullface from Burt Macklin's secret mission in Electro City to obtain the parts to build Metal Gear D.E.N.N.I.S., AND it was at the end of Chapter 7! He was so wrong on that, I am never trusting that guy again!"

I'm on spoiler blackout so this might be the only time I post here. But I'm actually getting it for the Playstation 3. I don't have a PS4 or XboxOne...I have no desire to get either one. (If I HAD to a PS4 could conceivably happen, but the prospect doesn't excite me in the least) And my PC while it could probably run it, not at high enough settings to make it THAT MUCH BETTER. And no physical copy of a Metal Gear game sounds awful to me. Maybe I'll get the PC one later when it's cheaper and just have two.

I wanted to like MGO 2. I played it for awhile but I liked it best playing it crafty, like Metal Gear. Most people seemed to just want to turn it into a deathmatch game. I can just play Unreal Tournament for that. I loved that mode where one random player was Snake and everyone else is guards but I could never find any games of it so I gave up eventually.

I didn't play much of the old MGO. I had access to the PS2 network adapter, but it wasn't mine so I only played it once or twice.

Yeah I once got a massive amount of complaints for playing a deathmatch all sneaky that way. Hiding in trash cans, vents etc.

MGS5 is going to be awesome! It looks like Kojima gave it his all, like he always does. I am excited to see what kind of messed up storyline there will be, how many plot twists there will be, and I am most excited to see what life lessons are to be learned from this game. 

I cancelled my collector's edition pre-order because I don't wish to support Konami. I know this would've helped Kojima, but it didn't feel right to support the company... I am definitely going to try to buy it used ASAP though! 

I loved Peace Walker! This sounds exactly like the game I was waiting for. I really hope it wins the worthy title of GOTY. 

This theme seems appropriate for the feels.

Speaking of Bond, Really hope that the Tuxedo makes a reappearance in this game. Not tactical at all, but it's nice to have the option to be classy for our foes.
