I'm not even a developer working on the game, and I could have told you from the very beginning that releasing small updates for the Nintendo Switch version over time wasn't feasible due to how much work would actually need to put into improving it considerably. I understand the need to qualm the woes of the disparaged, but let's be real, this version of the game needed at least 6 more months of development at the time of release; little updates wouldn't cut it, and 505 Games should have been more upfront about it instead of putting up yet another facade. The objective SHOULD have been the one big update patch from the start, marketing be damned.
ArtPlay and Iga have caused just and many frustrations than 505. Stop buying into this narrative of the big bad publisher who oppressed their developers especially when said developer owns the IP and started working on it years before the publisher signed on. They both share the blame and this is coming from someone who loves Iga and loved both Bloodstained games to bits.
Redogan: ^^ Game looks pretty solid....for a mobile game. Maybe it will do well.

Yän: meh... konami's dead

Ryngar Acia: ...or they've just been in a stupidity-induced coma for the past several years. Maybe they'll wake up someday? ;;

Yän: They already lost many of their best people. Even if they made some decent choices again, they'd never get back to their glory days

Ryngar Acia: It still seems like they a have fair amount of talented people, though. I dunno about returning the "glory days" but they could still be doing so much better, if the higher-ups would just pull their heads out of their butts.

purifyweirdshard: I think they'll do something decent again, eventually. The new mobile game might not be that thing, but the anniversary collection was a step in a good direction

purifyweirdshard: lol yeah I saw those ancient PC ports. I imagine they have little to no configuration for them and probably don't work with most controllers. It's also pretty weird to release CV/Contra like that when their anniversary collections exist
Sept 25, 2020 14:45:44 GMT -6
purifyweirdshard: The novelty for that PC collection to begin with was to have it on a PC CD, and all of these were waaaay before the era of Steam, so...yeah it just still seems like Konami trying to make easy money again

purifyweirdshard: hahaha MSX MG1 requires a 1.8 ghz processor and 2 gb of ram huh. Somebody out there has to upgrade to meet these 1990 specs

Busterific: As I recall, the PC ports for those were pretty bad. Makes me happy I have a working NES again.

hyugakojiro: Maybe Konami ought to create a Patreon account to speed things along with those ports and classic collections we're waiting for.
