I'm curious as to what the level of nudity will be

Yeah those male statues in SOTN were completely nude, right down to well, you know. They had spears in their hands and helmets on. It was like Greek nudity, so ultimately harmless, but you could definately tell at just a glance.

I like that old greek style art anyway, and it's gothic horror so it seems like they go hand in hand. Sort of an elegant tasteful nude art instead of the kinda things people would perv out to.

I would personally love to see some tasteful nudity in the game: it just meshes so well with the gothic horror vibe, and makes the whole thing look, well, more European...which in this case is a good thing.

Unfortunately, the game rating only mentions Vepar and Bloodless as "partial nudes" (noting that Vepar has no discernible nipples!), so that means that's about all there is in the game.

Yeah, I remember SotN's Spartan statues and the succubus that forgot her underwear (as succubi, and no doubt incubi are wont to), but low-res pixel nudity is a lot more acceptable than high-res polygonal nudity...  

Hopefully there'll be more opportunity to explore this artistic venue in the future (i.e. sequels).

I really like having Greek style naked statues in Igavanias, and I was hoping to see it in Bloodstained. It was embarrassing when they gave pants to the werewolf boss in PSP Rondo remake (The Dracula X Chronicles).

Unfortunately in this case they want to appeal to a sizeable audience so I think nudity will be kept to a minimum, even though the setting would make some nudity perfectly at home. Imo everyone should be able to make the game they want, with nudity and even adult content if they so desire and it's beneficial to the tone/setting/whatever. Not to say that every game must be a porn game, but sometimes, nudity and sex do fit (well, sex doesn't in Bloodstained's specific case but now I'm talking in general) and in general I find the obsession of censoring nudity and sex over extreme violence nonsensical. But I do understand that the way business works may penalize your reach if you have sensitive content in your game.

Pixelated nudity is a lot different than "3D" nudity, which is approaching more "actual" nudity. A 2D pixel image only has one viewing angle, one level of zoom, and yet multiple possible interpretations and more likely to be ignored. This is a more bold example than necessary, but say if you had something like a cherub (naked young child angel) in an older 2D game, that's pretty much innocent and fine - the way that they're drawn and presented are always in the artist's control in-game because the player has no input otherwise to see it differently. Naked child in a full 3D game with multiple options to view it and manipulation of the assets - not as much of a good idea. This can and does extend to anything else - higher fidelity and more ways to consume and manipulate the content means that the 90s' game nudity isn't 2019's. Some might call it censorship, but it can just as well be an artist's choice of taste and how they want their content to be perceived.

I may sound like a perverted/horny fellow, but personally speaking I started dating my girlfriend almost three years ago and since then I'm far more open towards sex and nudity in my media (comics, animation, video games, everything) and I appreciate them a lot more in general. Sex, sexuality and the naked human body are, in my opinion, things so beautiful and natural that I'm almost offended they often tend to be considered obscene, in certain medias such as games more than in others.

On one hand I tend to appreciate the eye-candy more, sure, but that doesn't mean that I always dig pointless fanservice; in fact I feel like certain stories could really benefit from an in-depth look on the subject of sexuality/intimacy. Especially character driven stories with a romantic dimension, in that case intimacy gives an extra layer of depth and reality to the whole character dynamics. Again, I don't mean that EVERY story or EVERY piece of media should feature naked ladies and sex everywhere, but as I said, those are beautiful things that I consider to be part of the human nature, so I'd like more creators to be able to see those as an additional tool to enrich their stories and make them more real and engrossing.
