Ciel Well my personal hope is that they got WayForward for this not just to finish this up because they sealed a deal with them to work on the sequel. I think that is the best case scenario. I think they will help make a very nice game visually that runs much better. My wishlist for the sequel: 1. All gear shows up on the character model. 2. All gear slots can be customized as [ equipment] (what you're actually using) and [ display] (the graphics displayed on the character model). 3. A little village that grows as you progress through the game (like Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter). 4. Gothic/mature aesthetics (gore, nudity, etc.) more in line with Symphony of the Night. Bloodless and Vepar should be the norm, not the exception. 5. Mana involved in the character design and art direction. 6. Development done entirely by ArtPlay and WayForward. 7. Higher-poly models for the main characters. 8. Support for clipping reduction algorithms (aka lots of polys for scarves and hair, with physics applied) for high-spec machines. 9. New enemy designs and 3D models. 10. QoL features such as a hint log, the ability to turn off leveling, and oh, I dunno, loot that doesn't get stuck in environment half of the time. Realistically, I'll be lucky to get one of these items, though.

This game surpassed my expectations. I wanted something close to aria of sorrow... and it delivered ! My best investment in a kickstarted game. Let's hope it gets enough success to become a proper franchise. The story of Zangetsu needs a proper closure. Unless it is added in a dlc, he still has a beef with Gremory to settle.

Nah I think Mana as the lead designer is a given for a sequel, the community approved her work and it seems that even IGA is happy with her. I too think her art is amazing, it fits Bloodstained perfectly and even more than Natsume's.
For the rest though, yeah we'll be lucky if at least one of them end up happening, but your wishlist is basically all we need for a sequel. Might as well tag Angel-Corlux and Question here.

they need to fix whatever is wrong with the spoiler tag option in this site. Several times I click reveal spoiler, only for nothing to happen.

Mana as a bigger art force seems like a smart move to me and it does seem like a given. Wayforward being involved in a sequel feels like something that could potentially happen and *definitely should* happen. The game being a bit darker and more mature like SOTN would be smart as well, as it felt the games got a bit more kid friendly going forward for w/e reason. I'd add increase the art team for the castle as one of my desires. A much more well designed castle with even more unique areas (within each area) would be golden.
Those are definitely my big wants, everything else would be gravy.

Winning concept should always continue, if they want to that is.
Now, pixel games can happen too, in smaller scale I believe for Bloodstained as a franschise. Do not know how Inti Creates gonna go about a new release for sequal of any kind to Curse of the Moon.

I like curse of the moon but it bums me out. I'm waiting for the day we get a 32 bit SOTN level pixel game and it's always stuck in the 8 bit past :/.
Speaking of which like i mentioned earlier. Anyone else just a tad bit disappointed by the retro level? I'm glad it was included and all but coming from Curse of the moon's levels to what was in this was a big drop in quality.

True, it is extremely short, lazy in design and the monsters lacked variety. It was the minimum requirement for the stretch goal.

The level itself was a bit underwhelming, true, but the boss battle at the end was really well done, I thought.

Yes, it was at least a nice reference to rondo of blood (maybe even a previous game, i did not play all of them).

They remove Bovine Plumes from your inventory on NG+ to prevent you from crafting High Jump early.
...Sneaky.

I had honestly thought it was just inverter that was needed, then I found out high jump is what enables it.
But, the game can be played without.

I don't like game devs telling me what I can and can not have in cases like this. It is annoying, but by default, they try and remove game breaking mechanics. Being able to sequence break by having the effects of invert earlier than intended would have to be countered. In that sense, having an ingredient that you cannot get until intended makes sense.
However, I do not see why they stop you from being able to use it after you get invert and until much later. An ingredient that you can get after you have invert makes a lot more sense and there is a convenient area that invert lets you get to almost right afterwards with its unique monster drops being pretty much the same as the latter one, just before the more annoying area that wait until.

That armor is needed to survive the gauntlet to get into the Oriental Lab. If you get it too early, you can get in there earlier than expected.
As I said earlier, this is a normal part of NG+ mechanics. You have to remove items like that from a persons inventory to prevent someone getting ahead and sequence breaking the story. It has a good chance normally of crashing a game.

I wasn't sure before but I just got the first ability shard that was removed for NG+ and the rank is carried over. Won't have to enhance it all over again it seems.

I have never understood the point of nerfing or removing things from games that are not PVP or Coop. This is not some esport game where we can have an unfair advantage over an actual living opponet somewhere in the world. I can understand nerfing and removing things from online only games, but who is going to care if I can do extra damage against an enemy? is the A.I going to send me hate mail when I pwn and Teabag their digital corpse?
(note: I am extremely immature, and have been known to teabag even the enemy a.i, if it pisses me off enough)

It is not so much about nerfing you. It is about how the game engine handles if you sequence break. I really wish we could get it as soon as we get invert. At that point there is nothing you can do with High Jump that you cannot do with Invert.
The reason for the high chance of crashing the game all depends on if the engine can handle that. If it cannot, you HAVE to prevent any sequence breaking. That said, if it can handle sequence breaking, then it can be a fun challenge to try and do sequence breaking. You can see speed runners try to do it all the time.
But once again, it is almost never about nerfing, but about keeping the game from crashing.

I remember how pissed I was when fromsoft nerfed the gold hemmed set in dark souls. At least that had the PVP excuse.
