Theorycrafting: 3rd playable character (Why this character?)

Miriam didnt start out with a scarf. She got it later. It helps the animation when she moves to get the feel of progression, a feel of speed. She gives off a trail.

Zangetsu, he have both light animations (Miriam had that too in the beginning but was changed due to double jump and other skills you gain later). Also, instead of a scarf, his part of his jacket (?) are leaving a trail too.

So far we are focused on trails, ok? Zangetsu will probably not get items like Miriam. So he needs this for the.. Lets call it "speed feel".

Okey, so lets move some characters out of the way..

Alfred. He could've been playable, if it weren't for him being 1. Very upset and on the "wrong side" of the heroes so far. And 2. He is not part of the lesser people on the picture Mana Ikeda did (see attachment). His face is enormous. In classic art, people with very high importans are portraited like this. Big heads, hoovering over others, like a king, or being of power. He seems to be a big bad. Maybe even the main villain since he DID use Miriam and Gebel as bait to harness the Hell Power to begin with (this is already known). So he is a no go as a playable character for the main game. Boss Revenge? Sure!? If he is a boss, then by all means go for it.

Gebel. Same here, he and Alfred are both playable in Curse of the Moon along with Miriam and Zangetsu. This makes absolutely no sense in the real / main story of Bloodstained. This is why Curse is a "fun time with the concept" and a spin off, not to be taken as a prequel.

Gebel is also starring as the main villain, playing as him makes less sense even if both Alfred and Gebel both use clothing that could be used as "speed feel" they are more or less too dark for the purpose of being heroes. Gebel, could however, be a third character if they only made sure "New Game Plus (NG+) allows 1 special character", but this is not the case. Reason:

Once we learned, if this is theory is true, then Gebel is not the main villain, but Alfred (and or Johannes) is. Perhaps Johannes as a puppet to Alfreds demand. Who knows, we will talk about Johannes in a bit. Then Gebel could be shoved aside, and in NG+ take revenge on Alfred somehow with some cutscenes being unavailable. But this makes little sense too. And this promise has never been given, only "complete the game and unlock new playable characters!"

Johannes. He got no "speed feel". He wield a whip, but he seems very coy. He needs to stay at his place as an NPC at least until the last scene, so we can get his alchemy advice through out the game.

Mystery Man. He is a demon. I wont get into more details than that because it might spoil. I have some theories why he is NOT playable in the main game but I can't really tell, due to potential heavy spoiler reasons.

Who is left? Anne and Dominique.

I believe Dominique will be playable. Her long hair works as a "speed feel" and while she is gone from the "shop" Anne can actually take over, no problem. It is also said Dominique likes FIRE in an interview. We haven't seen her fight. We also know she is an exorcist from light lore we have gotten. I also feel she can fill a good slot. While Zangetsu being more about melee, and Miriam being melee/ranged, we kinda need a ranged character, no? Dominique fits the bill.
