My favorite lines are from people who have the game:
“You’ve been waiting 3 years. A few weeks isn’t gonna hurt you.”
“You backed Ritual of the Night, not Curse of the Moon.”
“Have you never backed a Kickstarter project before? This kind of stuff happens all the time. You should’ve expected it.”
The kind of crap I’ve heard all day from people. I hope y’all are prepared for this down the road with the physical and digital stuff Steve. Please please please don’t pull an Inti come the real game release.

While we (Fangamer) don't really have any specific information available, my understanding is that, due to a variety of complicated logistical circumstances involving the various console manufacturers, mass-generating console codes is taking longer than originally expected. This has all happened in an extremely short time-frame, and we've been working as hard as possible to update the backers, distribute permanent Steam codes, distribute temporary Steam codes to console backers, and to respond to emails sent to our orders@fangamer.com customer support email address. I totally understand that this is a frustrating situation, and I really appreciate your patience while everyone involved with the Bloodstained project works to get this sorted out.

With all the chaos about the console codes, I can't help but wonder if you had been getting any sleep at all... Not unlike the launch of the kickstarter.

I can't believe Curse of the Moon is out already! Thank you Fangamer Steve and the rest of Fangamer for the smooth delivery of the Steam codes and for handling the situation we are having with the console codes like a champ. We are also working on this issue on ArtPlay's end to make sure that these are delivered ASAP. I haven't been able to play the game yet, but I hope to do so during the weekend. The sleepless nights will be well worth it!

I guess the main thing that kind of irks me in regards to the whole situation is that people are pointing all freaking blame towards Inti Creates......How many times does it have to be stated via community managers, etc., that this isn't purely on Inti's head as they have zero control over the codes being generated for consoles from everything that's been explained. They, unlike most other companies/devs, are at least TRYING to resolve things instead of ignoring the fanbase. I think, personally, it's a good show of faith from the company to be making any attempts to appease the fanbase, even if you can't please them all, but for the love of .......stop slamming the damned company and actually look into and research what is actually going on rather than playing the freaking blame game. Codes for console are delayed, we all (backers, at least) paid and are waiting. Most got Steam versions and those with computers can use the temp codes.....ffs, this whole situation is reminding me of how people reacted over Mighty No9 crap and we all know how well that whole thing turned out. No one has patience, anymore, something us gamers were once extremely renowned for having in abundance given our hobby and it's seriously making me think of backing out of any and all projects such as this one all purely due to so much going on. Things happen that are often out of people's control, especially devs. I mean, come on.......I pay for a package and it gets delayed instead of arriving the day scheduled due to whatever reasons, doesn't mean I should take to the internet or being an asshat to devs as if it is their personal agenda to piss me off by delaying what I paid for. TLDR; Beep(family forum, after all) happens so have patience or risk coming off as any number of stereotypes. Tbh, this is no different than when a game gets a worldwide release that happens to be a day or few apart depending on region.

I've been playing for a little over an hour now, it's fantastic (I actually considered opting for the Steam version anyway). I love the soundtrack too, I'm at Tragedy of Slaughter right now and the song's giving me an 80s thrash/death metal vibe \m/

Nezuto The problem is that it really is a problem of Inti's creation. As I said before, this is a massive failure of communication and trying to rush things out the door before they're ready. Every step of this release has been a blunder, and it didn't need to be. They should have told Fangamer what platforms would be available before announcing the release. They should have mentioned that there would be no DRM-free version before announcing the release. They definitely should have gotten confirmation that the keys would be ready before the release(and if you think that they did so and that every single console manufacturer simultaneously forgot how to generate codes in a timely fashion, I don't know what to tell you). All they needed to do was be patient enough to have everything ready ahead of time and to ensure people weren't expecting things that wouldn't happen. The DRM issue was always going to sit poorly with a subset of the backers, and rightly so, but waiting to tell people that they were staunchly pro-DRM until so close to the deadline to change platforms was inexcusable, particularly since the main project is going to have a DRM-free version. Everything else was avoidable altogether. Trying to blame the key issue on console manufacturers is simply deflection, as it was Inti's job to make sure they had keys available on the date they announced for release.

Well, considering I stated that it was how things have been explained, so far, I'm not deflecting anything. I am merely pointing out that people seem to want riots and boycotts half the time if something doesn't meet their own, personal expectations. If Inti is actually 100% at fault, then I'll agree that they need to work better at managing such things, but I absolutely refuse to fault just them in a situation that may be more complicated than any of us give credit on.
I'd also like to note that I've never been a big fan of Inti, their games have typically been meh and last I knew, they weren't exactly big dev or publisher these days, but again, that doesn't mean fault should lie entirely on their shoulders when they've at least tried to rectify things. That's one of the things I'm trying to get others to notice, they could've easily pulled what many big named companies in the game industry have in regards to CotM, yet they've been steadily making active attempts since BEFORE launch to rectify the situation. So if that's deflecting, then freaking guilty. I stand by what I said.

I didn't mean you were deflecting. There is absolutely 0% chance that every single console manufacturer forgot how to prepare codes for a game release on time at once. Inti Creates are at fault for not making sure the keys would be ready before release, not the console manufactures. That mostly means that Inti Creates should not have announced a release date until they were certain about the keys. Not taking 100% ownership of that is the deflection I'm talking about. What they should have said was "sorry, we thought the keys would be ready by that date and we were wrong."

Regardless of who's at fault it's done and were all suffering together. We all know it's not the end of the world and I don't think any riots are brewing or heads rolling, people are frustrated and disappointed and they have a right to be, I myself convinced a streamer to stream the game last night so he bought it just for that and a few others that were watching decided they were gonna buy it too. His platform of choice? PS4... witch I'm still waiting for a code for..... so while others are putting money in Inti's pocket thanks to my advice and part of the money that I gave Inti to make the game, I'm still waiting for my code! sighs. I've vented my frustrations here and elsewhere, I know those frustrations have been heard by at least Question from 505 Games and who has said that they are taking steps to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again and Fangamer as well. I'll definitely be sending Inti a letter after this but until then I'm just gonna be patient and wait. I do hope that those involved with the project that are working to fix this know that we (at least I do and I know more than a few others do) appreciate their work regardless of if they are at fault as well or not. bloodstainedfanforums.com/thread/3053/24th-majority-planet-where-code?page=8

Has the release been a botch? Yeah, wont lie, but at least the game is *good*. The only negatives I've seen are that some people think the game should have had more influences from modern platformers such as changing jump trajectory etc. and they clearly missed the point of the games COTM was trying to emulate (since a lot of long time 'Classicvania' fans actually seem to be agreeing it isn't hard enough XD).
Its it a bummer I have to wait on the 3DS copy I asked for? Absolutely its a bummer, and I've got a buddy waiting on his PS4 code (I backed at a high enough level that I've got 2 codes coming) but thanks to Inti arranging the temporary Steam keys at least I *did* get to play it at launch for free and I know its worth the wait.

BloodyTears92It's definitely not NES hard which is something of a disappointment and really didn't need the casual option in my opinion. There are times when the stages seem sparsely littered with enemies, I also personally wish Inti had taken alil more initiative in introducing some unexpected elements to the game since I feel like the makers of Dracula's Curse did half their work for them at times. The bosses though were very well designed and fun. I'm waiting to delve deeper into it till I get my preferred platform copy.

On the flipside, there's a number of people I talked to that are happy the casual option exists. It's not for me but I'm fine with it being there.
