Definitely include simple enemies like skeletons and bats. Include all sorts of misc animals and creatures from real life and fiction. Just don't include iconic enemies like medusa heads or axe knights. This definitely!

I think medusa is such a cool design and would be a cool one for this game over other monsters.

Classic Boss monsters like Medusa, Frankenstien's Monster, etc. might be better served as bosses in the Classic Mode stages than bosses in the main game.

I honestly would like SOME classic monster bosses. It's fun to be reminded of monsters im familiar with in a major battle. It should be a small amount but at least one or two classic monster bosses

A kind of Forgotten One boss with crystal-cursed body would be interesting. He could be the "embodiment" of the curse.

Crystal-empowered Whip Skeleton?
Something like the "Shi-Mon"/"Simon" ("Death-Gate"; so punny) Whip Skeleton enemies from Harmony of Dissonance.

Rather than a Spectral Sword, how about a Spectral Whip? Would surely be a formidable enemy or a terrific guardian prior to meeting a big boss. I think as far as bosses go, a Galamoth-esque boss must rank right up there with the best of them. I remember playing SotN a few years ago and had an absolute nightmare trying to kill Galamoth. When I did defeat him (eventually) I had to sit back and take a good breather LOL You had a nightmare about moi? Do tell. In all seriousness, I'd like to see a boss-enemy so formidable (I'm sure some others from the Castlevania series would qualify...like Eligor from OoE). Just going to point out these two threads for anyone who isn't already aware of them: Ideas for EnemiesDemons of the Lesser Key of Solomon

I tried all kinds of weapons and combos trying to break him down and it took hours. At one point, I even flicked a karma coin out of sheer desperation before being brutally fried with electric. Thing is, I only discovered the Beryl Circlet long after I defeated him But ya know, I hope Bloodstained gets another super boss like Galamoth. No pain, no gain Eligor from OoE was a striking looking, rock-hard boss but I found that the excellent Arma Felix glyph was very effective against it.

Not saying dragons are a bad idea, just that I personally always feel like dragons are not really translated well into videogames. They always feel like they're square pegs being forcibly and ungracefully crammed into circular holes kinda. Like they don't fly when they should, or they don't breath fire when they should... I mean if they acted at all like the ingelligent powerful beast you would expect them too, they would often be impossible. Not because they are 'strong' or anything, but just the nature of something that can fly, and have ranged attacks, in addition to being strong. Why don't they just fly out of reach blasting fire at you the whole time? Because it's a game and you're supposed to win somehow, that's why.
Naturally there are lots of times when a game acts stupid specifically for the benefit of the player to have a chance of winning (such as why isn't the big evil necromancer king keeping a horde of undead with him when you finally battle him instead of sending them piecemeal at a time until he's all out and you can fight him 1on1.. dumbass!). But dragons in particular always irked me...They're cool in general! I love dragons, and the way they are portrayed in games... it always is a real bust IMO =P

I was thinking of Fenrir from Norse Mythology being chained up for a fight similar to Balore in previous titles.

I had already submitted a Boss idea earlier in this thread, which was basically a three-headed dragon. (I noticed that I didn't say where this is from, before; This is "Albert's Dragon", from the first phase of the battle against Albert in Mega Man ZX Advent.) The game that this dragon is from is, of course, another developed by Inti-Creates. I'd think they could take some inspiration from one of their own games, but make this particular enemy much more organic. The futuristic/mechanical look would definitely have to be taken away. Since this is Bloodstained we're talking about...this dragon would probably have stained-glass crystals all over its body instead (possibly including the horn on the main head).

I always loved normal enemies with a character to them. From SotN, Yorick and how he panics when you destroy his skull and the Owl Knight and how he morns when you kill his owl. I would like enemies like those.
I think a legion type enemy would be interesting; you face a group of small skeletons with weak attacks and you can easily break them or jump over them, but if you break them all their bones gather as one and form a powerful skeleton giant.
