I hope Iga goes for Expansions and DLC instead of creating a new project soon after the release. How do you guys see this?

I feel like there is so much replayability built in with the different modes that we wont need any new content for a long time. I would be fine with a sequel next.

Iga will then take on the most amazing game of his life: Vampire Hunter D. It will be an Igavania directed by Iga, written by Hideyuki Kikuchi, concept and character art by Yoshitaka Amano, sound by Michiru Yamane.

I'd be surprised if he didn't do DLC, given how the market is these days.

Imagine if SOTN had DLC in the form of being able to play as Richter, or Maria. Actually, don't.

I'm sure there is an option to output your PSP screen onto your TV with a cable.

I hope there aren't too many DLC if it does go that route, since I think Igarashi said he wants the base game to be his magnum opus. I hope this isn't the last game for this IP either though.

IGA kinda scared me because he made it seem like he really had no intentions to make this into a series he's kinda in the middle on it. I thought it was totally being made to be a series.
So i'm hoping once the first is released they can start production on the second not TOOOOOOOO long after.

So i'm hoping once the first is released they can start production on the second not TOOOOOOOO long after. Given statements he's made and the fact that he went through the effort to retain ownership of the IP, it seems clear to me that, assuming Bloodstained does well (it still has to sell a good number of copies to non-backers), that it will be a birth of a new series. Aside from using SOTN nostalgia as a big selling point for the campaign, I strongly feel you can think of ROTN as the beginning of a series just as SOTN started the trend of Igavania-style Castlevanias (let's ignore that SOTN itself was a direct sequel to a previous Castlevania game ). As an aside, to nobody in particular, this is a WEIRD thread to have before the game is even out and when development has barely started. Not really sure its a topic worth worrying about right now

More wrong with digital games than with physical games, by a mile. You can take care of physical assets to keep them in peak condition. Digital versions ... don't trust them. edit: Really awful typo.

Absolutely! We're probably in the minority but I've always preferred buying a game cartridge, sticking it in the console and just getting on with it Hear, hear. More run with digital games than with physical games, by a mile. You can take care of physical assets to keep them in peak condition. Digital versions ... don't trust them. Around 18 months ago, I downloaded Steam and bought a cheap, fun game from it (Worms: Revolution). The game itself was fine but I always had to be online to play it ... which basically sucked! Due to that reason, I uninstalled Steam and, hey presto, the game disappeared with it Now, I don't know what direction Steam has gone since then and I really don't care to be quite honest but I'm certainly not keen on online gaming.

You can keep digital games by making a backup on a hd or usb stick or something. Granted this doesnt work for always online games but that is a seperate thing from digital. Physical games can be always online too. Like diablo 3 on pc for example.
Steam is just UI/shop. Games being online or not is up to the game, not steam. I play my steam games without using steam regularly. That said I still suggest gog first.
Edit forgot what thread this was. I dont know why people would want dlc before a game is out. Maybe the game already includes what you would want from dlc. That said, ae mentioned, the list of features is wuite extensive. I cant see what dlc they could add other than cosmetics which ideally would be available by mods... I want modding!
As for iga making a sequel. He never said he wouldnt or probably wouldnt. He said he likes making games stand up for themselves and that he needs to focus on that instead of sequels so early on. I mean look at castlevania. Lots of sequels bit other than LoS (gag), the games DO stand on their own.
