I was also planning to get it on the Wii U but to be quite frank the console has run its course and is now irrelevant. I would happily have it on the switch instead.

Where is the WiiU version not listed anymore? Where was it listed in the first place that was later removed?

I saw that earlier and assumed that he was talking about either the Kickstarter tier options (which it never was) or the Fangamer survey, the latter of which I can't check on this device.
As if there was anybody who thought otherwise: Reggie just confirmed that Zelda: BotB will be the last first party product to ever come out on WiiU when it launches this March.

I hope there is a way to play old Wii U games pretty soon in other means, legally. And that you Wii U owners do have a plan B if this goes south for you.

There's already an emulator well under development called Cemu. It can play some games perfectly, and a couple dozen more with minor glitches. It should be good to go by the time Wii Us start failing.

Pretty sure they were speaking about Bloodstained and whether the Switch version goes forward or not.
Also I hesitate to call emulation a 'good' solution. I would always rather play on official hardware with no muss and no fuss if I can.
