It's fine. This is specific and the other is a conversation that has been going on for a long time. The title on the other thread is out dated. I just wish this thread would have appeared before I put my reply in the other one. It's a split conversation. I'm sure it's also being discussed in threads like the update and the IGN article. This thread is probably the best solution.

The Xbox One on the other hand... I think it's a good move that they've been showing the game in the Microsoft camp for a bit now. Hopefully that version does a little better after that exposure. |

That poll doesn't really tell us anything, as we have no idea how well that sample represents the entire backer base. It would be nice to see a poll of backers who expect it on Wii U. I'm sure that was part of Fangamer's survey. Fangamer could tell us the number of Wii U pledges, but I'm not sure how comfortable they would be with that idea. A low Wii U backer count would, however, give IGA an easy way out of this. I mean, the only logical reason IGA could possibly have for considering this, and openly voicing it, is that the pledge count is low, meaning that Wii U pledges don't cover the cost for that version and show a low interest. Couple that with the low sales of the console and you have a version that will lose you money. From a purely pragmatic point of view, this is a no-brainer, but ethics and reputation play a part in this. They should just release Wii U pledge numbers and if they're low (can't cover the majority of the version cost), shut it down. If, however, backwards compatibility is announced for the NX in the next few months, they should stick with the Wii U version (assuming the pledges aren't abysmally low). |

i say communicate the options with us, put out the pros and cons and a general idea of cost so this can move forward with both igas and as many of the backers blessing as reasonably possible, granted this conversation will have to wait until details about nx are made public to avoid giving the rabid pirahna-i mean nintendos legal team a reason to frenzy

I agree with everything @nyahahaha and Astaroth have said. I fully expect a Fangamer poll in the future. I wouldn't count on NX backwards compatibility, and even if it had it, it wouldn't totally solve the problem. |

I would love to see this on the NX... though I really have no say because I did not choose the Wii U for my game... but I would definitely buy the NX version if it had "unique" features like @purifyedweirdsoul talked about...

As someone who opted for the Wii U version, this does concern me a bit.
If the Wii U version ends up not existing, then hopefully I can 'reselect' for the PS4 port.
EDIT: Or perhaps my Wii U option can be 'upgraded' to an NX option. That would be acceptable to me as well. |

When they include Vita and Wii U in the stretch goals, they obviously know that both console will be irrelevant when the game comes out. (well... these consoles ARE somewhat already irrelevant even in 2015 when Bloodstained campaign started.) Anyway, after you saw the ridiculously detailed & beautiful castle entrance stage, do you really want to play this game on Wii U? I for one have changed from PC+Vita to PC+PS4 now.  |

If you want to change your platforms then it's up to you. There are some important points regarding the Wii U and the Vita though and some general points you have to consider overall. -People backing this on the Wii U and Vita might have done so because it is the only platform they own, and only did so because they already had a platform to play this game on. We cannot assume that anyone with a Wii U would buy NX at launch or at all. The same could be said with the Vita too. -The PS Vita is the only way to play this game on a handheld system like most of the 2D IGAVania games we're used to. So what that means is that it offered a nice extra for those that were going to get one of their copies (digital or physical) on a console of their choice or the PC. Some people like myself are console people only and don't want/can't play Bloodstained on the PC or just don't want to be bothered with gaming on the PC. Which made the Wii U and especially the Vita a nice split. What I mean is it is pretty normal for a person to only own 1 of the current gen consoles or planning to get one at least so unless someone specifically wanted it would be pointless to have the game on the PS4 and Xbox One two consoles without much difference in the experience. The PS Vita and even the Wii U offered offered that extra option for those that can't account the PC. -People could have been enticed to select the Wii U or Vita as one of their platforms because online play on those systems is at least now free. If they could not afford or refuse to pay extra to pay online like on the PS4 and Xbox One that this game is being released on it might have played a role in their backing of the game knowing they will get it on their selected system and get the full experience without the fees of the other tow systems. I know this may sound too specific of a scenario, but it's just one of the possibilities I can think of. -If some changes interfere with people's plans too much i.e they just bought a Wii U or Vita for this game, or are just generally too unappealing they're going to want to be compensated back or just be pretty negative and that can lead to all sorts of other problems. It also begs the question of what the Armature tier that was unlocked is going to end up contributing. -Overall this is so obvious and easy to say but it will just make things more complicated than they already are and as someone who backed this on the Vita really decisively not only would I be disappointed but also would have no second option for the digital copy. |
