Hello Everyone....
Thank you for the forum....
What do you think of excluding the 3DS from the list of supported machines?
I believe the game, a smaller scaled or fine tuned especially for the 3ds or new 3ds can be done.....
The machine (especially the New 3ds) proved it's power and capabilities in many games so why not RoTN?
After achieving ALL the goals and adding another big jump of 250,000 $ , don't you think that a 3ds port is a must?
I own ALL the systems by the way except the Vita which I might get soon if it survived longer....
What do you think guys?

I think it would be awesome... but I don't think it would be feasible.. I am hoping RotN will push the limits of the consoles (not so much the pc) and to put a game that powerful on the 3ds is just not possible right now... maybe in the next incarnation of 3ds.. maybe a future port is likely though.

Yeah me too, but Nintendo really focuses on innovation rather than power these days (actually since the days of N64)and power is what we are going to need to play this game...
don't get me wrong I love the 3ds and nintendo I love their games. but with all their "innovations" it is hard for third party games to make many (or any) good games for them.

As much as I like the new 3ds (especially my mh4u version), I don't see how it would work. Even if it's specs can now run wii game, we're talking about enough content (I would hope) for new gen console, with little to no tactile interaction. I'm sure even the wii u (you know, the version I'll be gettting) gamepad won't fully show its potential to support such game since what do you put on the second screen? the same image? (would be cool to play when the tv is off) then there's no tactile interaction whatsoever. Inventory? Map? Both? then hardly little to no tactile interaction (I expect the inventory to be a clausterfuck and nothing else ha ha). And no a smaller scaled version is not ok, we can't just cut features from a game tat the whole of point of stretch were to add features in said game, it's like saying for reaching 5.25 millions everyone get a version without most of the mode we now will have thanks to the Kickstarter campaign. I mean wtf, nobody wins, even the graphics gets most likely tone down I would imagine

It may even be possible, but it should require great changes (downgrade), just looking at 3DS screen resolution already would decrease greatly the game quality, not to mention the low CPU, GPU and RAM specs. It may be feasible, but it seems too much work and quality downgrade, Iga wouldn't like to have a downgraded version of the same game on that platform.
The hardware just can't grant quality, that how it is, even if we consider only the New 3DS, still a long way in computational capacity to reach Vita. I have a 3DS, and even if it runs there, i would prefer to get a more detailed PC (or other console) version, there is no point, the low resolution alone will decrease quality.

i think it would be ok not coming out for 3ds, it's literally coming out for everything that can handle it. i'm just happy the 3ds owners like myself are getting a game there by IGA! i'm getting the main game for Steam and PS4, and i have the 3DS for the prequel game!

I think the biggest limitation here is UE4. It takes a pretty hefty beast to move this engine without extreme optimization per platform. I would rather go and buy a Vita (don't own one currently) to play mobile than ask the team to put funding/time into a 3ds port. Back in the day, it was okay to have stripped down versions running on various hardware (SNK Arcade titles vs. SNES and Gen counterparts), but today the gaming community would rip any such BS apart, teeth of maw bearing. I know the team doing the Wii U ver has experience with porting UE, but I still have concerns about the overclocked Broadway chip in the Wii U making use of all aspects of UE4.
Much like the fire effects in the Saturn Ver. on SOTN are translucent vs. Ps1, but they included additional level. I have to wonder if this was the first example of a dev offering a "Sorry it won't play as well as the other machine, here's a biscuit, so shut up about it"
Not trying to open the can of worms of Saturn vs. Ps1, love em both. Just go check out the Armor Lord @ the bottom of Outer Wall in both versions, and you'll see the difference in the fire effects.

The only thing that one can hope for is that the prequel game graphics is as good as the recent GBA and DS games like Aria of sorrow and harmony of dissonance...but not like Shovel Knight ...I love shovel knight but I prefer to have such graphics in the retro mode of the original RoTN but for the prequel, it should be like SoTN and the other games I mentioned earlier....

It's a throwback to Castlevania, made by the long-time director of Castlevania, plus, like I mentioned somewhere before, they're probably gonna use the assets from the prequel game for the secret retro area in the main game, so it should look fitting enough.

Given the fact that porting it for the WiiU isn't simple, asking for a 3ds version is a bit much IMO...As I think a vita port was.

Armature is going to have to improvise and hand write code to make this game run on Wii U and Vita, unfortunately no amount of optimization or code writing can make unreal 4 run on the 3DS it's just not possible. They would literally have to demake the game from scratch.

Yeah. I'm a gamer more than a ___boy, so I truly want everyone to enjoy every game they want to enjoy, myself included of course. I see no merit in wanting to deny consoles or platforms from certain promising games.
However I can't help but worry that bloodstained will be delayed because of the hurdles that will have to be jumped to try and make a UE4 game go on the WiiU and the vita. If it isn't delayed for that reason, cool, then I hope those other versions maintain the quality of the other versions...and I hope the PC/whatever version doesn't pull a watchdogs/witcher 3 and intentionally nerf its fidelity to not trump other platforms...
Console politics! UGH.

It won't affect the quality of the game or the speed of production at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ports release at a later time. In fact I would expect it. It's no secret they are ports and therefore they inherently can't be finished until after the main development does. Inti has to provide armature with the assets before they can be ported, so anytime Inti makes a change armature will have to follow.
Unless they hold the release of the main SKUs until the ports are complete, the WiiU and vita will release later. Mighty No. 9 did the same thing.
