When I got my first sight on the backgrounds I felt it's kinda dull and bland, but after I saw the actual footage they're amazing!
Total agree with Scars Unseen, though Miriam's hair is short (at least not Shanoa/Alucard-long), the hair really should "float around" a bit.
Anyway a great update! Cannot wait to play the demo!

Whoa. Big update. I was not expecting an E3 demo, but finding out that it'll be available to backers as well? Nice! I'm impressed! The hype was real and the high expectations I thought people had were exceeded. Thank you to everyone involved with making this happen! I'm looking forward to the stream next week (June 15th). Romscout's a pretty good streamer and I like hearing/seeing Ben Judd and IGA make appearances. About five seconds into the video and listening to the music, I thought to myself "Yeah, this is Michiru Yamane's work." Her style is so distinct. I love it. The new track reminded me of "A Whole New World" from Aladdin towards the end. I'm surprised the Galleon Minerva is the first area in Bloodstained. When I saw concept art for the ship in previous updates, I had a feeling it'll be a later area in the game and it'd be docked in. Having it be the fist area in the game and connecting it to the narrative by having it sail to Gebel's castle is a pretty cool idea. I can see area being included as part of the main castle map once it arrives and the player can go back to the boat at any time instead of being a separate OoE or PoR-style map. This part of the update stuck out to me. Having all the enemies from the previous update in the demo sounds really cool. I'm glad they got their own update so their reveal wouldn't be drowned out by demo news. Also, Morte totally has a shard you guys.  I'm still a little confused about the floating coin people pointed out at the 26 second mark and having a difficult time finding it. Can any post a screenshot of it or circle where it shows up? Also, I don't think anyone's mentioned the fanart in the update thread yet. I like the colors on the first one, I remember seeing jaeon009's on the forums and it's cool to see it get attention, and PistachiBow's looks really nice.  Mira inside that platform to the left of Miriam. i keep forgetting this game will have whips too. What a beast bloodstained is, it's really the best of collection for igavanias. I do hope the ribbons get a bit fleshed out, I feel like it could have a more open flow to them to show them off better. Even if nothing changes it all looks very good as is |

Mana I cannot stress enough they nailed the movements and speed of this game if their approach was to nail that SOTN feel. That angelic feeling whenever you jumped I can feel it already without even touching the control. I love it. i LOVE it. The team is doing good work, hope they keep improving upon it and don't let up.

Hmm After watching the video demo over and over, I just can't get over with Miriam's scarf It feels kinda out of place imo, like it's too "floaty", like it's not a proper scarf, more like just a thin cloth stuck to Miriam's clothes and I compared the model with the development 2 video, the scarf looks much more thick than what the demo shows, maybe this is what been bothering me there |

They look the same to me. It's just in motion they are too thin to show q dynamic flow to it. If it were a cape you'd see the inner cape and outer cape switch back and forth but because the scarf is so thin you don't really see much.

In my younger, more excitable days, this is the part where I'd by jumping with glee through my house. But instead I'll do my modern equivalent, which is to lean back in my chair with a big smile on my face.  On a sidenote, I said in a thread some time ago about how I like water graphics in games and I hope Bloodstained can do good in that category. Well, that scene of Miriam running on the ship's deck with stormy waters in the background (about 0:10-0:14 of the video) might be my favorite part of the video. After looking at that, I'm hoping the full game can have some interesting dynamic backgrounds, without said backgrounds causing lag with the core game or anything. I might make a quibble that in that scene, the ship's deck looks like its dry even though there's a storm going. The wood certainly doesn't look wet to me. |

Well, the only way to really feel the flow, it's to play the demo itself and most of us will be getting the demo, so can give much more in-depth feedback and comments after that but as of now, I think they should add a bit more weight to the scarf, so it doesn't feel like a thin cloth |

Also, am I the only one to notice the name of the level and ship being Minerva is a reference to the Demeter?  (The ship in the Dracula novel by Bram Stoker!!) Bravo, IGA!  OMG yeah! You're totally right! The academic in me thinks it's a bit far fetched, as Minerva is a roman goddess and Demeter is a greek one, but still a pretty neat nod to the novel. I love these kind of references.  Keep 'em coming! |

Ugh, what a time for my hard drive to be out of commission. Between this and the Yooka-Laylee Toy Box coming out, I'm gonna be missing out on a lot unless I get that hunk of junk fixed. I love the video, though!

I don't knew if anyone already asked this but do all backers with 60+ tiers get steam demo even if they filled out the survey and put Xbox, Wii u or Ps4?

Togposh , they already answered that question. E3 DEMO: Coming this month. Everybody backing at $60+ will get the demo, which will be coming out over Steam. So if you backed for a PS4 copy, a Wii U copy, a PC copy on either Steam or GOG—anything—you will get the demo, but it's only being distributing over Steam and it will only run on Windows. DEMO+SURVEY: We're sending the demo to everybody who pledged at $60+ and filled out their survey by June 13. So you have until then to back—if you haven't already—or fill out your survey, if you haven't done that. If you have filled out your survey, you're golden! Enjoy the demo. Hope that clarifies things a little!

Well, the "scarf" isn't really a scarf anyway, they're ribbons. Ribbons aren't exactly things that have weight.
Now, that said, I'd like to see them have more of a presence myself...either something more cape-like, or the addition of some afterimages as Alucard had when starting his dash/jumping. It seems like there could be more than the ribbon and dust/sparkles.

lol. I only say that because someone was saying that the "scarf should be more weighty/thick" and that it seemed like a thin piece of cloth. That's because it is I think D:
I feel bad for you guys with outdated PCs. Gaming on Steam is great these days, pretty sound investment if you're a gamer.

But if you want a laptop for whatever reason (I need one because a) space constraints and b) need it mobile a few times a year in optimistic variant), and price for getting one that can run modern-ish games are bonkers, at least here. The one I have here cost me around 3k PLN (something like four months of intensive saving at my current pay, if you want to compare 1 USD is around 3.8 PLN currently), was barely an upgrade over the last one, and is outdone by 1.6k PLN PS4 (2k if we count in the monitor). I imagine I'd have shell out 6k or more for something that could be called a proper gaming rig, I'd rather put that money elsewhere until I really need to replace it or until such a day that a stationary, cheaper PC is someting that would be worthwhile for me.
