Nerfing Craftwork was a surprise. Were speedrunners doing something crazy with it or was something found out regarding it? Either way... Interesting. Nerfing Welcome Company is a welcome change. It feels like a good move to be a bat or dullahamer head barrier and a supplement to melee weapons. Its numbers before made it more of a replacement to other shards of the same category. It was too easy of a choice to use it.
I'm glad to see the developers are still getting the game closer to their vision. Lastly, patience people. The world doesn't revolve around you. They have a lot going on, a lot of moving parts. Be patient, be supportive, motivate them to meet your expectations. None of this shoving a stick up your ass and blaming them for why it hurts. Please don't make children look more mature than you.

Maybe I'm weird in wanting to see what direction the developers want to take the game. There are some things I just didn't use because of the imbalance. Either it was so weak it became a hindrance or it was so strong I felt like I was missing out on what was the intended experience. My experiences with Igarashi's games is that the skills themselves don't need to be overpowered because the character will get there through leveling and finding the strongest gear.

Somber piano music, I feel fits really well into Gothic horror.
Then there's this song.

I've counted over 63,000 purchases on the Kickstarter page. Its reasonable to assume there are at least 63,000 people playing this game when we account for the sales after launch. Even if 5,000 unique individuals took to the internet to make their complaints heard, they are still a minority by definition.
Like I said, they're working on the Switch.
If we do some napkin math, 63,000 divided by the number of platforms (PS4, Xbox 1, Switch, PC), we get 15,750. So let's assume that's a rough number of the number of backers for switch. Not only would those 5,000 still be considered a minority, now we have to figure out who exactly backed for a switch version, send out surveys, verify the names meet some rather leniant standards, add the names to the credits. This is assuming they received the go ahead, after discussing who will postpone their tasks to get this done, and whatever else. Next up is a large patch for this and fans now have to sit through another several thousand names in the credits.
Programming large scale projects is an insanely difficult task. Things that sound silly, like fixing one bug and introducing a dozen more, become all too real. I honestly believe we should be nothing short of impressed they managed to make a large game from scratch in a similar amount of time that other games require when they already have most of their assets and plenty of back end code already there.
I can't remember where I saw it on this forum but, another user was awesome enough to address why this might be. In summary, because the Switch is so much more different from the other platforms, porting the game isn't easy and possibly required sending a final build of the game to an external party to get it to work. If that's the case then Iga and his team had little to nothing to do with the state it arrived in.
I'm not trying to defend or justify. This is just my view and opinion.

bradd80 I should've been more specific. The rewards set in the Kickstarter campaign were that only people who backed at $100 USD and up got their name in the credits. That's where they drew the line. That's the non issue. They won't budge from this stance to appease a minority of their consumers. Especially if it means pulling away from their current promises, however slightly. As for the switch, that's one of their promises they're keeping. The performance of the game on that platform wasn't up to their standards and they've been working to ensure it satisfies them. Sorry for the confusion.

They should at this point do a patch that adds in all the names of the people that backed the SWITCH version into the credits. As special contributors. Do an update survey where they let us put our names on the product we helped fund and got the worst version of. They should be bending over backwards to do something for the switch backers they burned period.
Technically I spent 100 bucks on this cause I went an got a PS4 copy of the game so I could at least have a playable game.
I hope you realize that won't happen. From a business perspective, you're complaining about a non issue. It's more imperative that they keep to their current promises (publish 13 DLCs, optimize platforms, start their next game, gainfully employ their developers, etc) than to drop everything to appease a small percent of their consumer base.

I would happily back a sequel. I got a very rare glimpse into the game development process, had a chance to provide feedback, gave the team the opportunity to do something unfamiliar and learn from it, and got a product I'm satisfied with.
I don't think they'll need to resort to it but, if they did, I'd show them all the support I'm able.

I'll likely try to do challenge or theme runs. Like restrict myself to foot weapons or ng+ holy style gear with holy skills. Once the playable characters come about, play as them on every difficulty.

xboxuser22 if you saved after the patch was installed then no, your save won't be compatible with the earlier version. Otherwise, yes, you can avoid that issue. You might want to see if you can clear the system of update files for Bloodstained first.

I think it's far too late in the game to change the layout of something that large. Maybe their next game they'll take it into consideration. Oh, it might happen in the roguelite mode. it'll be interesting to see what they decide on.

It would be nice to see this fixed. I've had it happen twice. Once when I slid into water from a corner that forced me to crouch. Once more after getting a new shard midair. Hopefully it's an easy fix and not something that's deep within the engine itself.

I don't think it will be affected much, if at all. Building a game is like building a house. You have several people with different skill sets all contributing. I don't believe its all members of the team working exclusively on one aspect. Rather, they have been tasked out to accomplish what their skills enable them to do. At this point in development we have the majority of the game's core complete. Just add any back end code that's needed and utilize the tools they spent so long developing to finish the rest.

In which aspect are we talking? Generally I say it's the platform that lets the person play it that's the best platform. It's the one that the individual gets to enjoy the game from.

One of the playable characters on nightmare might scratch that itch. If one of them plays like Symphony of the Night Richter then skill based gameplay will be the focus. I get the feeling that will be Zangetsu, given he has a similar relationship that Richter did with Alucard.

After playing a while, I'd now love to see a mod that plays Jeff Dunham "Begone, Satan!" When you use Tis Rozain. Or other meme / cringe worthy sound effects to replace Miriam's lines.

It never occurred to me to retreat to the stairs. I would just do what any cartoon character would do after getting the wits scared out of them: cling to the ceiling.
