The best thing I recall about Gen-an was that his claw actually makes a metallic sound during battle, it was a nice little touch. That, and he's possibly Mai Shiranui's ancestor. (lol)
Anyway, I mentioned Ocha-maro due to my love of 'kookier' designs in fighting games. But Iroha is honestly my favorite character in the franchise. Literally got that shooting game (Neo Geo Heroes Ultimate Shooting I believe it was called, too bad the Vita irksomely pixelates PSP games) just because she was in the roster. She's probably a safe bet for a DLC pack.
Maybe a SS6 DLC character pack? Andrew, Iroha, Ocha-Maro, and maybe one or two other SS6 debuting characters?

If it might be relevant, a fighting game Youtuber I'm subscribed to, Maximillion Dood (been subbed to him since his MvC3 Assist Me! days) had 19 minutes of gameplay with the devs themselves. Here's the video. Also, PAX confirmed character packs as DLC. To pick a more 'out there' character I'd like to see, I'd be interesting to see Ocha-maro come back. One of the crazier fighting game character concepts I've seen.

Considering how popular she is, to the point of even having some products based around her entirely, I'm kind of surprised that Iroha isn't here. Might be DLC, I could see her moving DLC sales.
Also, there's supposedly no word on suicide or fatality mechanics yet.

So much for the rumor of Banjo and Kazooie joining Smash at the Game Awards. Never played Persona so I'm pretty 'eh' about this. Not positive, not negative.
For the discussion about FE, considering that Smash tends to have promotional characters and FE has a tendency to be a part of that (Roy to promote his then unreleased game, Corrin for much the same reason), there is a real, genuine chance of a Fire Emblem Three Houses character to help promote a unreleased game.

4. Ray MKII (Custom Robo) Personally, I wish Ray 01 from the Gamecube title ("Battle Revolution" in Japan) would be playable. All of his specials would revolve around the parts that he's depicted using in the intro movie and artwork of that game. Aw dangit, that's the one I meant. It's been so long since I've played the game that I think I mixed the name up. The main robo from the Gamecube game is the one I want.
Wish there was a new Custom Robo game. The GC game is one of my favorite games on the console.

DLC wishlists?
1. Elma (Xenoblade Chronicles X)
2. Lana (Hyrule Warriors) (I could replace this with Linkle)
3. Someone from Fire Emblem: Three Houses
4. Ray MKII (Custom Robo)
5. A SEGA or Namco character from a currently unrepresented franchise. (My first choice would be Nightmare from Soul Calibur.)
On a sidenote, the final Smash Direct was the only one I was kind of 'eh' about. No trophies was a bit soul-crushing, Incineroar wasn't terribly exciting (his reveal trailer was really good, I'll say that), Ken was pretty cool, and Piranha Plant... left me confused at first but I grew to be sorta excited for him.

On the subject of where Neo Arcadia is located, while true that it's never specified if you examine the cutscene in Z4 where Ragnarock fires at Neo Arcadia, the map is somewhat hard to get a good bead on but I think Neo Arcadia is somewhere around the Horn of Africa.

So, in regards to Smash. When people were able to play the game at E3, it was observed that the Dark Samus and Shadow The Hedgehog assist trophies were not present in the game. This led to speculation of Dark Samus and Shadow becoming playable.
Since Dark Samus got revealed as playable in the last Direct, it is very probably that Shadow is playable by the same thought process.
However. To speak personally, I'd rather Metal Sonic. Metal Sonic would better fit the 'heroes vs villains' theme they seem to be somewhat highlighting this Smash entry. (Since Shadow is a good guy these days.) Plus, it makes a bit more sense for Metal Sonic to be an echo, lore-wise.
Before anyone contends that last sentence, I'm well aware that Smash tends to take liberties with character movesets. (Captain Falcon's Smash moveset is almost entirely made up, FE character movesets are largely invented for Smash because they tend to have only about 3 attack animations in their own games, etc.) But since Shadow has an array of Chaos powers, but Metal Sonic basically just does everything Sonic does, it would be more correct to the character for Metal to be a Sonic echo. But I am at peace with the fact that it'll probably be Shadow.
Speaking of characters being faithful to their abilities in their native franchises, it bugs me that Dark Samus will basically just be doing everything regular Samus does, with no heed to her personal abilities. Her assist trophy in Smash 4 is more faithful to her unique abilities then her Ultimate incarnation is. Maybe she can get a more proper moveset in the next Smash game.
EDIT: Also, I would like to make a slight update to my Smash wishlist. I would still like Rex and Pyra together in an Ice Climbers and/or Duck Hunt kind of way (Duck Hunt might better describe what I'm getting at,t hough), I also would enjoy Elma from Xenoblade Chronicles X getting in.

Notice there's some kind of input delay, at least with X1. That section of the first Sigma stage where you have to use some moving platforms to climb into Sigma's base proper went from easy to a genuine nightmare.

For what it's worth, Chrom is an echo of Roy, and his Final Smash is mechanically similar to Roy's, but a bit different. (Roy swings his sword in a 360 style, while Chrom just seems to attack forward.)
Perhaps it could be that Simon and Richter have largely the same Final Smash, but the initial attack that you have to land to hit with the Final Smash proper is slightly different. With maybe some animation difference with the Final Smash itself.

*listens to Bloody Tear arrangement on the official Smash website*
I've fallen in love with Castlevania all over again.
All in all, that was a great Direct. Two of my biggest wishes (Dark Samus and King K. Rool) came true. Now just give me Celica (Fire Emblem) and Rex with Pyra as a tag-along Ice Climbers style (Xenoblade Chronicles 2) and I'll be perfectly content.
Shadow or Metal Sonic as an echo fighter of Sonic wouldn't hurt either.

Simon Belmont was just confirmed in Smash alongside Richter Belmont. (Richter is an Echo Fighter of Simon.)
Dracula's Castle will be the Castlevania stage. The stage has cameos of many Castlevania enemies (Camilla, Flea Man, Death, Dracula himself, etc.) The stage will also boast 34 Castlevania music tracks.
Alucard is an assist trophy. (SoTN design.)

Never actually played a Fallout game, actually only learned about the franchise last year. (Though I am old enough that I could have played the first Fallout when it was minty new. My family probably wouldn't have thought highly of me playing a 'mature' game when my age was still defined by a single digit, though.)
Regardless, while I might have been interested in getting one FO game when its brand new, the online survival game aspect is quite the turnoff. Also, looking at series lore, Vault 76 was supposedly the first vault to open, so I worry about a really painfully empty open world.

Block Man becoming giant actually gave me a flashback to Rainy Turtloid from X6.
I actually like the voice acting we heard. Nice that it won't be another Dr. Thomas 'Elmer Fudd' Light.
Overall, the game looks like it'll make Inafune cry like a MN9 backer on launch day for a really fun game, though I've still got a small issue or two. (MM's running animation still looks a bit weird.) Between this and RE7's commercial success, and Monster Hunter World being one of Capcom's most successful games ever, I think Capcom has firmly moved away from the 'Crapcom' shadow.

All my hard work at repressing those memories... ruined! Ruined!
Maybe we'll get a hint of Simon or some other guest character at E3 in a few weeks. I've no proof and I'd still be willing to bet money that Smash will be a big part of the E3 Nintendo Direct.

The mention of Ridley also being in makes me skeptical. Last time Sakurai talked about him, he was pretty adamant on Ridley not working due to being 'too big'.
(I personally call bull on that, Ridley's size isn't super-consistent and they could get away with just making him slightly bigger then Bowser in Smash, but I suppose that's a bit off-topic.)
I'll be looking forward to seeing if Simon really is in or not. If he is, I wonder what Castlevania Assist Trophy and regular collectable trophies there could be.

The voice in the trailer seemed... competent? Maybe a little 'trying too hard', though.
Regardless, looks really good! I joined the Castlevania franchise a bit late (Portrait of Ruin was my first) so while this retro game won't be tickling any nostalgia, it'll at least be a fresh experience for me.

Until you get to the Ultimate Armor, the developers don't even try to balance that thing. Especially in X8, that thing just snaps the game in half. (It's difficult to use the X8 Nova Strike against Gigabolt though, due to the small size of the boss fight arena and the bottomless pits)
Speaking of, X8 is probably the game here that I'm most interested in. I kinda enjoyed most of the later X games, but X8 was imo the most enjoyable X game since X1.

Just finished filling out the survey. I'll make specific mention of the costume category. I clicked for 'Angel', 'Nun', 'Maid', 'Outfits to match existing accessory sets', and 'Other'. For the space provided by 'Other', I added in 'Business wear (ex. a formal suit), Medieval Knight, and schoolgirl'. I would have also selected 'Vampire (Elegant)' as well, but I'm only allowed 5 options.

Hmm, will X Challenge also incorporate X7 and X8? X7 functions very differently from the other games so I can't really see that working, unless they completely rework the X7 bosses for the sake of X Challenge to fit the 2-D style. Because only a few bosses in X7 were fought in the 2.5D manner. (Mega Scorpio, the first Sigma battle, Soldier Stonekong, and Wind Crowrang)
Regardless, definitely be getting this. I get a certain bit of pleasure from X7. X7, at the very least, tried to actually innovate the formula and feel different then its predecessors. It went about it in the wrong way and ended up being horribly horrible, but I can respect the effort.
