we're only few months away from the biggest gaming event. where everyone gets hyped for new announcements or new footage of games that has been previously announced, to me Bloodstained is my day and night thing.. I keep checking the forums or the kickstarter page to get the latest news about this game like every hour, but I keep asking myself will we finally see the game in action at E3 ? I know that IGA's goal is to show the game at this year E3 but what could it possibly be ? a gameplay trailer of the beta ? an announcement of a new character or maybe a teaser ? just so many question marks there.
so what do you guys expect to see this year ?

Frankly I don't pay attention to E3 at all. It rarely features games I care about, and when it does, it's normally some cinimatic trailer or whatever that doesn't really show you anything. The few times they DO show you actual gameplay, there's a good chance it gets cut or removed upon release these days too!
Sorry to be a buzzkill, I thought this was in offtopic not BS discussion, so I was expecting this to be more of a 'what games are gonna be at e3' topic rather than.. you know.

Because Bloodstained is early in development, I am going to expect nothing about it at E3, be okay with that, and be pleasantly surprised if we get something.
If there isn't anything to announce at E3, I hope it's mentioned beforehand in a Kickstarter update. I'd rather not see Bloodstained fans get hyped for an E3 announcement and act like William Murderface receiving his birthday present.

Well for me.. I'm expecting kinda the same, but small announcement or a development update should, basically any Bloodstained news can get me hyped pretty easy these, but I'm not getting my hopes up or anything. I just expect to be an E3 announcement this year

Goob, almost everything you say/post is a television/movie reference. It's like you have an entertainment media metaphor for almost everything I think there will be a trailer of some sort...we'll get a brief look at some gameplay. We can see that Miriam is "in motion" from the screenshot used for the shader voting, but haven't actually seen her move around yet. I think E3 will be that, maybe building off of some kind of animation that we backers will see in an update beforehand.

I think E3 will be that, maybe building off of some kind of animation that we backers will see in an update beforehand. The secret is that I'm actually a Gex the Gecko roleplayer and having an account here is part of my job. All the references are part of an ongoing process of testing the waters for a Gex reboot since comedy was a big selling point of the original games and references/quips were such a big staple of Gex as a character. I was wondering how long it'd take for people to put two and two together, but you're the closest anyone's come so far. Don't tell anyone. Shhhh. But really, I do it because analogies can help get ideas across and I have this unexplainable affiliation towards funny stuff. I also just thought of something that could be announced for Bloodstained at E3: a port for the NX (if Nintendo has it there). Sometimes gaming press conferences display a bunch of game logos at once when people talk about ports, support, and upcoming games. I can see the Bloodstained logo showing up on something like that.

possible, though word of fangamer is there is no plans for an nx port since 'nobody' knows what nx even is yet, so it would either need nintendo reaching out to iga and inti and risk spilling the beans since even the inkling of an idea that the game might see an nx port will inevitably explode into a bunch of questions about the nx that iga wont be able to answer because nda, or waiting until some time after the nx reveal to ask the question of if we would be open to an nx port (which also hinges on what kind of contract has been drawn up with armature on the wiiu port whether that portion of dev would move its focus entirely to vita or stick with both still, but dropping the wiiu port will make quite a few wiiu people that pushed for it so hard during the ks feel betrayed)
ive heard rumors that nintendos making the nx very easy to port to with things like ue4 where you just choose nx and recompile and youre done, IF that is true then an nx port in the future wouldnt be a drain on resources and would be a good move, but thats a pretty big IF
my personal opinion is i want it on wiiu because i want to see what cool things armature can do with the gamepad, and if it does come out on nx as well im going to hope i can get a backer version for that too

I doubt much will be revealed at a place like that for this game, mostly because the game is early in development and not a console exclusive. Chances are maybe at the time of E3 we get a new game update from the dev team on the kickstarter site. I have no clue if iga has anything planned for E3 according to op he does.

He's saying that because initially, it was announced that the playable beta would be ready for E3. I'm not expecting that, but because that was said, I really do think something that at least shows a playable game will be there.
edit: This is just one source, I'm pretty sure they had said this beforehand as well.

Honestly, I always go into stuff like E3 with little to no particular expectations. Sometimes I can be a bit of a buzzkill when people are speculating about possible reveals, but I'm afraid I just have a "Hope only brings disappointment" attitude in these sort of situations.
As for Bloodstained showing up at E3, just some concept art getting shown off in a booth is my idea of a 'daring' expectation.

I'd be satisfied with some new screenshots, character artwork and casting announcements for some roles. Maybe some animation demos and such. I'd not expect a playable alpha till at least TGS.

I have a sneaky suspicion theyre on track for that still, may not be a very lengthy playable demo but i think ive figured out what the progression will be for the next couple updates, now to wait and see if im right >P

Interesting, i have never seen that interview and the information about a possible beta release at this year's E3, suddenly i am feeling anxious. However that interview is quite old, it's impossible to say if that's the current shedule. Anyway it's amazing we are already nearly 10 months since the funding . E3 will be the 1 year mark since funded who knows what to expect .

Im hoping to see at least a trailer, but a playable demo would be awesome or maybe they announce the release date for the beta.

I do believe there will be something big there, it won't be that early stage in development then (not that i will mind if there's nothing, i just think there will be). I am guessing one of these options: 1. Gameplay footage. 2. Announcement and release of the beta right way or very soon. 3. Announcement of beta release date.
At E3 we will be more than halfway (~60%) to the final release date in terms of development time, considering a release on March 2017, even if we consider a 3 months release delay it will still be at 50%. Of course the first half may be focused on critical design definitions and core stuff than gameplay adjustment, still i believe that's enough to at least show a few rooms of gameplay even if it's made just for the event.
It is just my humble opinion, i am certain they will have what it's required to do so the question is if they are confident enough to actually show it, we know they don't like to show unfinished stuff even if it is 80% complete so let's relax and wait to see, what really matters is that on the end we will be able to play an amazing game.

It's hard to say since none of us are in the development trenches for the game but I wouldn't expect anything playable to show up at this years E3 unless they really wanted to have something people could touch on the game floor. Stuff like the shader and model lockdown happened relatively recently I feel. Remember having something playable back at the studio isn't the same thing as a beta (which I think technically by definition are supposed to be feature complete) or a demo for public consumption.
Still, I would expect the game to have some sort of presence at E3. Seems too big of a venue to miss. When is E3 this year anyway?

Yeah, beta tests are generally done in the tweaking phases of the game where youre looking for little problems you arent likely to find with a couple people who know the game very well, but a crowd of people bumbling through would, the 'best' beta tester is someone who can keep good notes but has no idea how to play a game because theyll try off the wall stuff like running into a corner and mashing every button on controller 2 >P
I could see an alpha demo thats maybe a small stage long and has a limited selection of enemies and set gear so people can take in the atmosphere and feel of the game without forcing the devs to halt production to put together a standalone demo

I think they will have some decent amount of footage to show off by then. I think I remember Mana saying that they team has been making a lot of progress lately. I mean we know they've worked on the blueprints of the castle, they've got the shader, they have loads of concept art, they have the model. I'd say they're well into the grit of the game now. So it's reasonable to suspect something nice will be shown off at E3 but who knows...MAYBE IM WRONG. Let's see what the next update shows off and that might give us a better idea.
