This hasn't made me forgive Capcom at all but... well I pre-ordered the game a while back, and all of a sudden it got delayed. That left me bitter, and I cancelled. Now I'm just hearing about in fact another delay, and I genuinely feel I may not even pick up this game.

The most notable thing about the Legacy Collection is that I think it's the first physically released Mega Man game since ZX Advent way back in 2006. That, and the Golden Mega Man amiibo, but, even as an amiibo collector, it doesn't interest me. (As nice as the figures are, the greater thing I buy the amiibos for is their game functionality. Amiibos that will likely have function across multiple games are the most enticing to me. I'll need to see some evidence of the G Mega Man doing stuff that my regular MM amiibo doesn't across multiple games before I take an interest in 24K Mega Man.)
As for MN9, with Comcept taking on more projects then it really should, I wouldn't be surprised if we got another delay, pushing the game back to late Summer or Fall. Also, they'll probably also release Beck and Call cosplay tutorials, have a "Meet Mighty Beck himself!" thing going on at a few conventions, and Beck and Call amiibos before this game releases.

I only gave $5 to the Kickstarter since I wanted to participate in backer-related events, show some good will to Inafune, and didn't want to let my hype get the better of me. It feels like I made the right choice.
I'm sure MN9 will benefit from the delay. Even with everything that happened since the KS campaign ended, I still think it looks fun and I plan on picking it up eventually.

It's funny to see how people flocked to Inafune's corner when he announced this Kickstarter, but now the game seems to have destroyed his reputation. 2013: Screw you, Capcom! You killed Mega Man! Disk-locked content! Well, don't worry, Inafune is our savior, Mighty No. 9 will show you how it's done! 2016: Urgh, Inafune is a #$@%ing hack! Endless delays! Never telling us all those additional Red Ash stretch goals! Grr! Capcom, you've been, er... generally inoffensive lately. I just might get the Legacy Collection. I agree with the commenters who say that what they should do is release the game without online, then patch in the online later. While I do put stock into the 'A delayed game is good eventually, a rushed game is bad forever' viewpoint, the amount of delays this game has gotten is getting cartoonish. That pretty much sums up people like me,with capcom cancelling 4 megaman games and staying quiet and blaming it on the fans when we saw mighty no.9 and saw the music and saw the screenshots we thought we had hope,we thought we were going to be able to revive the franchise, now come present day people like me who would have defended inafune are pretty much done with him and comcept, the fact they were so bad with the red ash kickstarter did not help either, almost day 1 the game suffered problems with the community manager going around being ban-happy and lying about a lot of things, then after that it was the delays and the lies...ugh It is also true, capcom has been less an ass lately, their even hiring the people who made ben 10 to make a new megaman cartoon,Plus their doing some good with my other beloved franchise resident evil doing some good work with the HD remakes

I was counting down the days to the release of the game but I have really worried that I hadn't heard anything about platform surveys yet. Now I know why. It's too late now but if they had staggered the release of content and platforms over time (ala the already mentioned Shovel Knight) they would have been golden. Now they've put themselves into a corner and they only way out is to grind through these bugs. You're never too old or too experienced to be learning lessons though. Heck, its clear (to me at least) that a lot of lessons learned with managing/producing MN9 have gone into Bloodstained and will likely make the later game even better. Here's hoping this third delay won't be too long. They tried to pull some spin about that, right? On how the Unreal Engine 3 was not getting updates to help with their problem regarding online. Why are they the only ones to have this problem? It's not even an ambitious task; it sounds like they're making excuses because they're just not familiar with that type of designing when it comes to games. How many Unreal 3 games are coming out nowadays with this many features across so many platforms? Remember how borked the online for the Master Chief Collection was (and that had Microsoft money behind it). Doing online modes in games is hard. Releasing on 41535125 platforms is hard. Granted its their own fault for putting themselves in this situation but I don't doubt they are really trying their best to get this game fucking out there. So a friend of mine when told about this asked an interesting question: How many delays did Mighty No. 9 go thus far? 3 Delays 1) April 2015 > October 2015 2) October 2015 > February 2016 3) February 2016 > "Spring 2016" Though to be fair, nobody should be upset with the first delay - that's when Deep Silver jumped in and massively improved the base package of the game. That and KS game rarely come out on time anyway. It's the 2nd delay and this one that are ballbusters. Using AAA games is kind of a different beast. They're still caught in the Capitalistic "it must launch before the end of the Holidays at all costs" line of shitbrained thinking. AAA games mostly care when they launch, not if they launch well. They're caught in a way of thinking that has produced broken games at launch because the game needs to meet its launch date because that matters more than if the game even works. Mighty No. 9, correct me if I'm wrong, was mostly funded by fans. I think they could accept the game launching with some missing features if it meant the game came out, and the other stuff came later. I don't think people are looking at what's holding up the game and calling it a quintessential piece of the pie. I mean, one of the biggest studios is infamous with this, and how Grand Theft Auto Online was missing a major announced feature well over a year after it launched. If the fans could be fine there, I don't see why they wouldn't here. I think people just want this game to be out so they can move on from the whole experience surrounding this one game.

So an in an interesting twist,I asked a bunch of questions at the Mighty No.9 forums some a little too business personal, and I was basically told that the development of Mighty No.9 is being held up by Inti-Creates the same people working on bloodstained who are apparently in charge of the online components of Mighty No.9 while basically Comcept has little staff dedicated to the project and is working on other projects, which means because of inafune and his teams blundering Bloodstained could suffer some time delays since Inti-Creates has to rush on that old game
I swear my past haunts me,I come from the mighty no.9 forums then basically learn an old kickstarter game long past dead to me is holding up development on bloodstained

I think the teams are separate. Even if not so much, the type of employees that would be working out online components/netcode bugs of a game wouldn't be doing the concept and design phases that we're currently in for Bloodstained.

Yeah purify, I believe the teams are separate. I think Ben Judd mentioned that they have different people working on MN9 and Bloodstained.

I'm still interested in Mighty no. 9 (I backed it within a few days of the KS launching, when I was still in school!) but this is getting egregious. I get that the network stuff is really really tough to make at this point, but it's been several delays and a shady Kickstarter later. Throw us a bone, guys. I agree with the commenters who say that what they should do is release the game without online, then patch in the online later. While I do put stock into the 'A delayed game is good eventually, a rushed game is bad forever' viewpoint, the amount of delays this game has gotten is getting cartoonish. In the digital age of post-game patches and Special Editions, this axiom is getting pretty outdated. That being said, the better the base product, the better the foundation to build off of.
