One of my favorite things they introduced in Portrait of Ruin and upgraded in Order of Ecclesia was selectable lower level caps for hard mode. Even carrying items and weapons over, being able to choose to be capped at level 1 made things pretty hectic and pretty fun.
And then in OoE beating that unlocked a higher max level of 255! And oh man, the night and day feeling of going from level 1 to ripping through things at level 255 was fantastic. So I'd like to see that as an unlockable. (Maybe even a max of 999 but that might be too crazy :v )
PS: and maybe bring back the attribute system from OoE?

I definitely wouldn't mind a lvl 255 mode although I can't think of anyone that actually reached 255 in OOE legit.
As for the attribute system, it's really something that would only work in OOE because it is the only metroidvania game that is spell based rather than weapon based. If it was implemented in any other metroidvania it would just be useless clutter and unfortunately that is probably going to apply to Bloodstained too.
Edit: Fun Fact 255 is the highest number binary can reach

I don't necessarily think it'd be cumbersome it was basically a neat extra thing. The regular game was fine like the rest but you have an extra system that let's you power up and be more powerful if you want. I don't necessarily want it in Bloodstained but I can easily imagine how it can be implemented. I've also maxed out attributes about 3 times now.

Edit: Fun Fact 255 is the highest number binary can reach That's true only if for an unsigned 8-bit number. For an unsigned 16-bit number, it's 65535.

I think I already covered this in the recent posts I made in the Design Review Requests thread. Was there anything I missed there or need to add?

I am not to proud of it but I legitimately got Shanoa as well as Albert to level 255 and maxed out all their attributes (Albert didn't have any spells/attacks with a blunt attribute though). It took Shanoa about 8 hours in the most efficient room possible, equipped with the shaman rings (exp boost) to get from 99 to 255 and Albert took about 15-16 hours. Not including the time it took to max out attributes. EDIT: I love grinding. . Hoping the max level in a regular run is 99 and possibly up-gradable to 255 or 999. As long as unlocking the mode requires some immense feat like beating it on lvl 1 on nightmare.
