OK, so now we have to buy ArtPlay some Krispy Kreme! Mana, can we donate some paypal money to ya and have you deliver some donuts to all 4 of you? I can try! Not sure if I'm allowed to take donations, but I'll buy them some donuts when I get the chance

I think it was my first or second week going to ArtPlay during the time we recorded the podcast, so I wasn't very clear on ArtPlay's role. I had the same idea as purifyweirdsoul before coming here too. Basically there are two branches of ArtPlay, one in China and one in Japan. IGA owns the branch here in Japan. Since he also does all the administrative work for the company, you might as well say he owns the company itself. The other CEO (the one I mentioned that I have never met) is in charge of the branch in China where they make mobile games. It's basically the same as as how Comcept is to Mighty No. 9. We also have two developers who are working on Bloodstained and going back and forth with Inti Creates on a daily basis. We have Krispy Kreme right outside our office here in Shibuya hahaha. Never had one though..... Wait...was all of this information here before? Don't tell me my brain just zeroed in on the last part about doughnuts...oh man... =/ Well, thank you for that; makes sense. Hm, those two developers...I bet one of them is Curry the Kid. ArtPlay is smart for giving IGA his own Japanese branch! I'll be on the lookout for any of their products if they make it out over here. In reality, you can get away with it because you are not Japanese and are ignorant of their culture. If you were Japanese and raised in Japan, yes it would be weird to address someone you don't personally know with chan. Hooray ignorance! Baka gaijin for life. It really wasn't that serious, guys. I mean, I think I get the gist of how it works. Was being careful as I was being playful with names :x ...doughnuts

Not sure if I'm allowed to take donations, but I'll buy them some donuts when I get the chance Having the ability to send our favorite video game development company some office gifts would be great. We wouldn't want it to just be your efforts alone, but if you could make it easier we would appreciate it.

Well I'm confused. This is the first time I've even heard of ArtPlay. I was under the impression that Bloodstained was Iga's main project, his "full time job" in a sense, developing it with Inti Creates. But after reading this thread it appears that he's mainly doing other stuff and only works on Bloodstained on the side (I'm assuming in a more advisory role). Do I have that correct? And also, two different teams are making the game?

But after reading this thread it appears that he's mainly doing other stuff and only works on Bloodstained on the side (I'm assuming in a more advisory role). Do I have that correct? And also, two different teams are making the game? What we are talking about is information garnered from the campaign mixed in with the new info we have right now. - IGA & Ben Judd toured around trying to get Bloodstained funded. There were actually fliers teasing the Bloodstained project over a year ago.
- They were having trouble getting takers and as IGA was unemployed (after leaving Konami) and had a family, he had to take a job.
- IGA signed up with a company called ArtPlay. It is primarily a mobile company with its main branch in China.
- He signed up with the condition that he could still do other work relating to passion projects. ArtPlay would give him the time and flexibility to do that though they wouldn't give him any funding.
- Eventually a deal with Deep Silver was worked out and Bloodstained happened.
- Recently we learned that there are two ArtPlay branches, IGA runs/owns the branch in Japan, and all the members of the Japanese branch (4) are working on Bloodstained at their primary (sole?) project.
Hopefully that clears things up. As far as I can tell Bloodstained is IGA's #1 priority. It was just the nature of ArtPlay, his position in it, etc. turned out different than what we thought/learned back during the campaign.
