Sweet. Faith instilled! It's hard because IGA will never be able to please every backer. If he sees a large portion of feedback for something specific (Goofball defense force!) then I'm sure he will consider making them happy.

seriously when seeing a character model like that it's hard not to get pumped. There's a lot of detail there. It makes me happy that we will finally be getting a game that is a clear STEP UP visually than SOTN and on consoles.

While I trust Igarashi and all of Inticreates with this, I also recognize that they're human. The fact of the matter remains that they're working on a project that was in a large part funded by the public, and there is a weight to that. Whether or not there are any legal responsibilities tied to that (there mostly isn't), I have no doubt someone there feels an overwhelming responsibility at times. I don't wish to take that responsibility away or really even relieve it, but I want to convey that sometimes what people ask for isn't always what will make them happy or even what will sell.
I'm finding it difficult to say exactly what I would want them to do about this. While the community here is great, that isn't a universal statement about all of the internet, and I don't want them to put too much weight into halfhearted gut reaction statements, whether negative or positive, when it's from people who aren't considering the overall product.

They are on the right track as far as I'm concerned. Better than the first two. I'm more curious about the game rather than the looks though. Though it's good to get this out of the way.

A free camera mode to take snapshots would be a nice throwaway feature to patch in. Akin to what Smash Bros is doing.

This isn't a sprite, a sprite is considered an image, or in the case of 3d games a flat plane that always faces the camera (usually used for fire or smoke). Something I've been wondering is how does this shader look from a distance? It looks awesome up close but at the end of the day that won't matter. In fact, I think her model is way too detailed unless we're expecting a lot of close up cutscenes in the game.

The character model looks vastly better to me because of this shader over the other two, so I can't see myself picking them regardless but I can't deny...I'm REALLY curious how the background will look. I'm hoping if the model looks this much better the background will have a similar effect. Crosses fingers Fan gamer guys....get them screen shots yet? Care to give us a super vague thought? I'm far too impatient clearly.

I didn't want to attract attention to the shoulder thing because everyone was happy for an update; that being said, I too am still puzzled if it will remain, I am hoping for bare shoulder for final product. Maybe the tattoo has to stay uncovered for some reason. Magic streams coming off it or the like, that would shred/burn clothing placed over it, so she has to wear things that will allow her to keep it well-exposed. The shoulder covering could just be there as a strap to help hold her clothes up given how much running and jumping she's doing.

That's a good observation and theory, but I don't think that's going to be the case since Gebel is also cursed and it looks like he's wearing a fancy v-neck and glove over his crystals.
