Back in the 90s, Anime wasn't as big in North America as it is now but there were some note worthy shows. One of them was Samurai Pizza Cats.
For all of you who are wondering what SPC is, read this.
And with modern internet, we get to (re-)live the dubbed version in all of its glory and best of all, legally.

Before there was Team Four Star, before there was Little Kuriboh, before there was Ghost Stories written by the voice acting cast, there was Samurai Pizza Cats. While the original show was in fact a rarity in itself; a comedy series with the narrator cracking jokes at the characters' expense, parodies of other animes, and fourth-wall breaking running gags, the dub team took it to the next level after the original script was lost on its way to the studio.
The result? A completely ridiculous parody OF a parody filled with innuendo-laced jokes that wasn't really able to be aired on most American stations. In fact, the only channel I knew it from growing up was on YTV in Canada.I remember hearing one bit of dialogue that made me raise my eyebrows even as a tween:
Polly:"Doesn't this outfit make me look hot?"
Francine:"It's super sexy all right...." *pause* "Tramp!"
It's a kid's show aimed at young teens who like a good dirty joke, because this show has plenty of them, and the more hilarious part about that is while the script was completely re-written by the dubbing team, they weren't that far off the mark from the Japanese script in a lot of places.
The quality is ironically on par with the best abridging teams around now, so if you like that style of humor, you'll enjoy this very early, poorly animated romp from anime humor of yore. It was quite ahead of its time and is well deserving of a watch today.
Oh, if you're wondering about what kind of drugs singing sensation Googie Gomez was on? Apparently he was flat stinking drunk when he performed the theme song... not that I could blame him.
If you enjoy such classic old animated series as Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain and Earthworm Jim, check this out, you'll be sure to get a few inappropriate laughs.
