Not sure if you guys saw this already: www.ign.com/articles/2015/10/23/sony-confirms-its-stopped-first-party-vita-development?utm_source=IGN%20hub%20page&utm_medium=PS4&utm_content=2&utm_campaign=BlogrollA quote from Sony's Masayasu Ito: "Currently, first-party studios have no titles in development for PS Vita," he said. "Since third-parties are working very hard on PS Vita, SCE’s own strategy is to focus on PS4, which is a new platform. “At the beginning the PS Vita did not resonate with age targets under 20, but now the situation is changing and the popularity with younger demographics is increasing. Minecraft: PS Vita Edition has provided a boost. "In addition to that, a variety of third party games is also planned for the future, and in order to further accelerate that flow, we decided to release new colors for the PS Vita this fall.” That sucks. I really don't feel like they ever tried in the first place.

Part of me agrees... And part of me is like meh... First party titles. Only nintendo provides a first party library that can make a significant difference imo.

As long as the third-party support keeps coming, this doesn't bother me one bit.

I've had some great experiences from 3rd party vita titles that you can't find on another system, very unique games. The first party stuff is cool, but I much prefer 3rd party stuff when it comes to handhelds. Take the Danganronpa series for example, that's something you can't currently experience anywhere else..yet it offers a refreshing and rewarding experience. With AAA/First-party games..they're usually more of the same as we experienced before previously- which isn't a bad thing..but I like to mix things up a bit.

As Ghalion said earlier Nintendo really is the only first party studio of import but I just think it is bad form to give up on your own platform. I feel like it doesn't exactly instill confidence in others that may be developing handheld games. It is really niche though so I don't think there will be an issue there. I just don't know about next handheld cycle based on the Vita's sales, seems like Sony is backing out of the arms race.

I thought they already said they wont have another handheld within the forseeable future, which is kinda a shame because frankly I think the vita is way cooler than the psp for its time. I've had a vita for far less time and I've already made much more use out of it.
