I generally hate it when people say a game is a clone or ripoff...but this time I agree, looks like a clone but...but... yessssss... I will want to try this game! Besides, why NOT "clone" a game everyone loves that hasn't been reproduced for over a decade?! I wish the best for this game =)

This is Warren Smith (Developer of Dark Flame). I noticed this thread after seeing some traffic directed from my website. Thank you for mentioning my game in progress! For those of you who don't know, it's been a work in progress for the last 2.5 years as I've made the complete engine from scratch. I just recently acquired a few different artists to make the game look better and am planning to Kickstart it (very) soon! If you're interested in seeing it's potential, the most recent version of the Pre-Alpha will be streamed by Mr. Moustachio: Dark Flame live stream! 14 Oct 15 @ 0100 EST (Tuesday night after midnight) I've always been a huge fan of Castlevania games and loved the art style of it (hence why it looks familiar to the 'vania titles). Hey Everybody!    I want to thank nekurors for mentioning this game in the forums. Anyways, I just wanted to say that a lot has change since I've last posted about this project. I've still been working diligently on Dark Flame and have just started a Patreon account to allow support for it. I'll still be posting new updates and everything but I'm going to keep new demos, google hangouts, giveaways, and other things exclusive to Patreon supporters. I know the Kickstarter failed, but I do not believe that it was because of community decision. I've been told by numerous professional sources that I was an idiot for running the Kickstarter in November-December timeframe! Even still, I'm just being resilient and pressing on. I hope to finish this game like any other indie dev has to persevere and complete their project. Hey Everybody! It's been awhile since I've posted anything in any forums, but I wanted to share an update on Dark Flame. I went to the dark side and signed a publishing deal - so you can expect this game around October this year  (I have funding - yay) Here's a couple screenshots of the most recent area (WIP). I've been following this game casually since the failed Kickstarter, but I have to say, I'll never be able to take that title seriously because it reminds me too much of Love, Chunibyou and Other Delusions.
