So, don't read my post if you don't want to be spoiled for characters, but apparently:
Data mining the beta has now shown evidence for Alex, Urien, Dhalsim, Guile, Boxer (US Balrog), Juri, Ibuki, "NDK" (probably Mika's partner, Nadeshiko), "Fan" (new character?).
Of course, this would be categorized as rumor at this point. I think all of those folks are pretty likely, though. I personally won't be hyped until Rose (hopefully) comes back.

The most consistent 4 characters in the leaks have been Alex, Urien, Dhalsim, and Juri. I'm 100% sure those 4 are correct. I also keep seeing a new character called Zen and mention of a female Russian grappler of some sort.
If mining the beta is correct and Ono didn't just put a bunch of random empty folders to mess with you guys, then those might just be your characters.

Soon, everybody.
We know for sure all of the characters now. And I'm going to be betting on either Balrog or Guile being the first DLC character.
There are several people in my area/everywhere playing a cracked version of the beta of the game, but I'm just waiting on the real thing lol :V

Pretty big news early today! A large Spanish source reported that in their review copy, PS3 controller support is in the game and Alex is the first DLC character. He will cost 100k Figth Money or 600 zenny.
I'm surprised. I was certain it'd be Balrog or Guile.

My advice on SF5: Wait until about March for them to add/fix things lol.
If you're into story, then June. Right now, it's eh...rough. The core game is fine, great actually, but the content and infrastructure is lacking for the moment. They're rolling out more features (and characters) as time progresses. Had to get the game out a bit earlier for it to coincide with this thing they do called the Capcom Pro Tour.

Well, that won't be happening this time un/fortunately, since Street Fighter 5 was released as a platform. There are plans to add to it over the course of several years. So the usual few-character updates we get in "Super" or "Ultra" will in this case be a new character every month for...well, we don't know how long.

Capcom's own words is that SFV is "definitely" the only version of the game you'll ever need, and they'll update the game across the PS4's lifespan.
However, if you're not much of an online multiplayer fan, I'd hold off on the game right now. The basic combat system is fun, but there's a dire lack of offline single-player modes right now. (Challenges come next month, and the cinematic story comes in June.) Though even the multiplayer is off to a rough start. Despite all those betas, online is being reported as being a bit laggy right now. Funnily enough, the servers had to be temporarily closed for maintenance today, launch day.
So, from the looks of it, SFV is off to a slow start. I trust it'll speed up with the updates it'll get in the months to come, but SFV in its current state probably would only appeal to hardcore Fighting genre fans.
I'm still enjoying playing as Charlie Nash. I've been wanting his return for a while. Now if we could just get Sodom and Sagat into SFV...

Things are Working (tm) now lol. Game feels pretty good still. Anybody having trouble?
I realized some time into wearing my costume at MAGfest that I kind of looked like Karin. No pasta hair though.

I've got some questions for those who have been playing SFV.
Does it make a big difference if I use a controller, arcade joystick/fightstick, or (if it's possible) a keyboard to play the game?
How well does the PC version perform on minimum specs, and how does it compare to the PS4 version?

I've got some questions for those who have been playing SFV. Does it make a big difference if I use a controller, arcade joystick/fightstick, or (if it's possible) a keyboard to play the game? How well does the PC version perform on minimum specs, and how does it compare to the PS4 version? You will get a variety of answers re: controllers, but honestly, it's all about what you're best with. If you're just starting out with playing fighting games period, a stick is a good idea since certain things are somewhat easier with that if you can get comfortable using it. If you're already a pad player, then that's fine too, and it has its own advantages. A keyboard is possible, too, yeah. I've even actually met a guy who had modded a keyboard to plug into Playstation 2s to play fighting games with. Nowadays, there's kind of an arcade stick/keyboard hybrid people use called a "hitbox" that uses buttons for the directions as well as for the actual punch/kick buttons. So long as it's somethig like any of these and you're not trying to use a dance mat or a Dreamcast fishing rod or something, you should be fine. There are varying qualities of controllers, however. Any stick that costs <100 is very suspect. I personally think MadCatz' pads are bad. For pads, I would recommend a Hori Fighting Commander if you'd like six face buttons, or if you're fine with using shoulders for HP/HK, then the plain PS4 pad is fine. There are many good converter options out there if you have a previous generation controller you would like to use. As far as PC performance goes, I have no direct experience with that, but from what little I know, it's about the standard as far as console vs PC goes. If you have a PC stronger than the PS4, then it will run a little better. If your PC is outdated, it might not perform as well. I thnk they've shared the same problems regarding the launch/server, but all that should be fixed on both sides now.

Oh, but all that said, this is the best fighting game controller of all time, OF ALL TIME: There exist PS2 Saturn controllers and genuine USB ones, but they've gotten hard to find. There are a LOT of readily available knock-offs on eBay and a couple of genuine ones now and then. You'd know which is which by the ones that cost $5 versus $100-400.
