Some Castlevania games had endings where it was just one and done. Where you start, and no matter what happens in the story, the same outcome will happen. Some games also have the "if you do this instead of this at x, you'll automatically get ending y." Other titles have more than 2 endings leading to some more replay value in seeing what would happen in ending x or y or z. Castlevania III had 4 endings on who you choose to have as a partner. SOTN also had this mechanic where there was actually 4 endings. Technically 4 plus Richter's ending. Where the bad ending is you choose to kill Richter before the inverted castle or kill him while the holy glasses are equipped. The other two depend on how much percentage of the game you've completed after killing dracula.
Your thoughts how many endings should bloodstained have? Since it will have two more characters would they have their own endings respectively? Should it just stay the one route start to finish? Or should there be more?

I love alternate endings. Make as many as possible and account for as many situations as possible as far as the story. Chrono Trigger did this very well and so did SOTN. Don't make the requirements for the best ending as terrible as the original release of Sonic CD, with how easy it is to mess up and go forward in time rather than backwards, and I'm mostly set. I'd say the devil is in the details, so don't forget the little things.

I like the idea of "bad, okay, and best" endings as long as they're reasonable to reach and don't demand too much from the player. Maybe something like SOTN, Aria of Sorrow, and Dawn of Sorrow where you collect certain items you normally wouldn't collect and the best ending pushes you past the "bad" and "okay" endings.

How many endings the game should have is hard to say because it depends so very much on how IGA wants to write the scenario. I would think 3 would be the minimum to expect but its hard to say since we don't know how much effort they want to or can afford to put into them. A breakdown I could anticipate:
-Miriam Bad Ending: She succumbs to the crystal curse and dies or become Evil Miriam or THE GODDESS OF DARKNESS or whatever.
-Miriam Normal Ending: She defeats Gebel who apologizes for everything before he dies. She escapes the castle and lives the rest of her life at peace/as a Demon Hunter/Something else IGA writes?
-Miriam Best Ending: After defeating Gebel and having fulfilled some requirement before the "final boss battle", its revealed _____ was manipulating Gebel this whole time! The inverted/underwater/moon castle unlocks and you get the best ending after you make your way through that and beat _____ at the end.
-Playable Character B Ending: One ending after defeating the "final boss" (Evil Miriam, Gebel, _______, etc.). Who the final boss and how long this play-through is (one castle? both castles?) depends on the narrative and how this character is unlocked.
-Playable Character C Ending: One ending after defeating the "final boss" (Evil Miriam, Gebel, _______, etc.). Who the final boss and how long this play-through is (one castle? both castles?) depends on the narrative and how this character is unlocked.
Of course I'm just assuming the most standard way this narrative could be written (heck I'm assuming there are even two castles!). IGA could surprise us and give us some cool and inventive (but still logical) twists and turns. This would make for perhaps a more engaging narrative but then the number and nature of the endings become harder to predict.

I think 3 is a great number. Any more than that and it can feel tedious for certain demographics of people.
There could also just be kind of slight variations in dialogue in one/all of the endings depending on what happened in-game, kind of like how SotN was. That way, it's kind of a motivator for completionists and people that love the story, but folks that are playing casually won't feel like they're missing anything if it's just a few different lines.

If we have multiple endings, I'd enjoy it if every ending is somewhat open to interpretation, and it's not a simple case of Bad Ending/Good Ending/Golden Ending.
I really liked the game Muramasa Rebirth in that regard, the endings that required extra hurdle clearing to get were not necessarily happier/better endings. (I still think Kisuke's default ending was his best ending, and Momohime's best ending was her middle ending rather then her third ending.)
Having every ending have both good and bad outcomes might also make sequel talk more interesting, since there wouldn't be an obviously happy ending that's the predictable choice for a possible sequel to build on.

definitely like the badbetterbest dynamic Iga usually uses, it could have 100 endings and id only care then if there was no extra that kept track of which ones id collected >.>
also CV2 had multiple slightly different endings based on time

Alternate endings, but definitely needs a "True" ending Dat pic.....*swiftly snags* Love it But in all seriousness, I'd like to see there being some kind of hinted relation of Miriam, to Shanoa....always felt there was a connection between the two, maybe due to the art style, not sure. So maybe have a secret ending that is True and has a nice easter egg?

As much as I love multiple endings 3 would be great. The default is the bad ending while we have to work a LITTLE to get the normal ending and work on the game for a while to get the good ending. In castlevania dawn of sorrow you needed a pendant to get the good ending instead of bad. Having that as the normal ending would be great while trying to get the good ending takes work.

I am fine with finding the good ending, but I think that it needs to be less cryptic than in some Castlevania's.

While i like multiple endings, every new ending means more work and stuff to do from the developers to trigger one or another ending, and a clever and cool script dialogues and logic for every of them. So to make things easier i vote for the 3-endings.
