Konami enforces copyright for fan art

Why would anyone do this? Is it because Kojima was fired and they don't like the idea of an ex-employee promoting fans enthusiasm towards their IP?

There needs to me something like this, but for Konami.

While Capcom can be a massive WTF (though to be fair, they have been getting themselves back on track lately with SFV, next-gen Strider, Ace Attorney 6, etc.) I just see Konami as completely unsalvageable these days.

Saving Konami would probably require bloodily purging the suits at this point.

This is an *extremely* bad move on Konami's part. Fanart is essentially free publicity and free marketing for games (or pretty much any other creative endeavor, for that matter) as long as the artist isn't making money off of it. This is simply alienating Konami's fans for close to no gain for them in the long run. They'd better hope they make a lot of money off of that pachinko junk, otherwise I see bankruptcy in their future.

Konami's final straw for me was The culling of Silent Hills and the subsequent removal of P.T. from the PSN store. I hate Konami as much as I hate Nintendo of America for their treatment of the Mother series. I truly wish them the worst.

The Konami we knew is dead. from turning my favorite belmont into a pachinko game..... to cancelling countless projects... to iga and kojima leaving because how bad they treat employees,.... now to the once-proud company attacking its own fans....
'tis a sad thing to see something so great crumble under its own weight. happened with rare.... (but we got playtonic... which is rare reincarnated).... and maybe kojima and iga could work together on a game. hell... i seriously think kojima and iga should join forces for bloodstained. just to show konami what two brilliant men can do that a giant company has been failing to do.

also... as a fellow mother series fan... i feel ya. but... honestly with the release of mother 1 to the states gives me a bit of hope that mother 3 will get an english version. nintendo treats their ips MUCH fucking better than konami, capcom, and sega.

I wonder if only the copyright owner can request something be taken down due to copyright.
