So XBONE will get cross play with Windows 10. Does this mean Steam, GOG and XBONE players can all play together? If that's the case I'm going GOG with no regrets. Would it be dumb to have a digital GOG and a XBONE physical copy then? Not that I have a current Gen console, but I will in about a year.

I want GOG to be cross-compatible with Xbone and Steam. The more people sharing platforms for multiplayer, the better. Hopefully GOG being DRM-free isn't an issue for cross play.
I don't think it'd be dumb to have an Xbone physical copy. It'd be a good backup if there's computer trouble and it needs to be repaired, plus you could let friends borrow it and help them get interested in the game.

Microsoft made it sound like the cross play would be exclusive to Xbox One and Windows 10 users I suppose that would encompass steam and GOG. Microsoft is known for being picky about cross platform play but they could also do cross platform between the PS4 and Wii U versions if they wanted as well. The platform you get it for is entirely up to you but I don't see anything dumb about a physical XB1 copy, getting it for Wii U myself. |

AFAIK Steam and GOG will be able to play together, even more certain about that because of GOG Galaxy.
I pretend to get a physical PC copy, they will send a key earlier for beta-testing that is the same key that will come with your disc Since shipment and taxes are a pain in the ass here in Brazil, it was really good to know that even if my physical copy doesn't arrive, I will still have my game.
