Amazing! New animations and sound effects even for the authentic (kinda janky ) Classicvania experience!

Looks amazing! Miriam's walk looks just like Richter's from the PSP CV. Looking forward to playing this and to see how Virt's two tracks turned out.

The classic/retro songs that are already on the OST will most likely be the ones used in these levels. Some time ago, a bit over a year I think, he finally got back to the team about this and said that he was unable to do it because of certain circumstances and didn't elaborate.

That's a shame but if they re-use Valiant Stride they should have 5 usable tracks assuming they didn't get someone else to contribute any new tracks.

This is interesting. I've been looking forward to this, but I think I expected something different. This is literally Curse of the Moon 2.5D (minus other characters). Sort of Dracula X Chronicles-esque. I think I was expecting a vision of what a modern Classicvania that extended off Super Castlevania IV and Bloodlines would look like. This will still be fun, though.

I think it's very, very much more CV1 than anything like Curse of the Moon. CotM almost has more Mega Man vibes than it does CV ones, especially the second game.
You're saying that you expected an innovation/new take on a classicvania with "Classic Mode", which is what CotM itself does basically, *most* specifically a modern innovation off of 3. The scope and idea of Classic Mode was to take it farther back rather than amounts forward. The original description was "80s style" and 5-6 linear stages.
CV4/Bloodlines more specifically, and I mean more specifically than a CV1-like itself, kind of splits hairs but could be something they get to later - if people are even able to differentiate what sets CV1 vs 4/Bloodlines apart aside from graphics and attack directions.

It's not a big deal. I think what they did was fine. It's just, the Bloodstained Kickstarter project, to me, was about pushing the boundaries of IGAvania and also Classicvania--to see what both should look like in the modern era since Konami refuses to put in their two cents. As long as they were going to fiddle with animations and such, I suppose I pictured increasing the mobility a bit from SCV-IV and Bloodlines while keeping and expanding upon the environmental set pieces from those games and the extra interactivity those games brought in, like grapple-swinging. The whip could be used to pull objects, for example. But at a minimum, I was hoping for the grapple-swinging, which doesn't seem likely now. All the same, I like pre-16-bit Classicvania. And yeah, Curse of the Moon stuff is over the top and not quite the same thing as Classicvania overall, but I just meant in terms of the tank controls and rigid attacks and basic level design concepts.
I wasn't aware of the "80s style," as the original post said: "Visible next in your Crystal Lens is one of our personal favorites: Classic Mode. This is a cool one, especially if you've been playing action platformers since controllers had two buttons: In Classic Mode, existing assets and screens from the game will be rearranged linearly, to reward timing and survival instead of backtracking and exploration.
IGA and company are still too early in the planning process to promise anything, but right now he's envisioning six punishing stages. In grand classic platformer fashion, you'll be weaker and the enemies will be stronger, and forget about saving yourself by grinding—no RPG elements here.
If you've always preferred your castles punishingly difficult, straightforward, and scrolling from left to right, this is the stretch goal for you." There's a lot of wiggle room in that description in my mind. Because the older style can still be innovated on. But I can see it the other way, too. At the end of the day, regardless, it'll be a good addition to the content.
