Assuming that Bloodstained becomes a new series for Iga I'm going to go ahead and say Gebel either gets away at the end or is saved somehow and becomes a good guy and another alchemist who secretly survived was behind it all becomes the next entry's bad guy. Wanted to see what you guys thought the plot might end up looking like or some plot twists you would like to see or may e even something you think would be funny to see.

As long as it doesn't have a Love Triangle involving Miriam, Gebel, and Johannas, I'll be fine.

I wouldn't mind too much if there was a love triangle. But I think it'd be kind of silly, I mean. I see her as a bad ass protagonist, not a little school girl with a couple of crushes ya know.
I don't think love triangles really add anything to the story, just kind of gooeys it up.

While not wanting to see a love triangle I would like to see her have a crush at least, adds some humorous situations in an otherwise serious game.

Miriam is confirmed to be 18, Johannas and Gebel are both in their 30's ( source). If Miriam ends up in a romantic relationship, I hope that its with neither of the already confirmed male characters, and with someone we do not yet know of. Because I am not comfortable with a canon Cradle Robing Couple.

I honestly want Miriam to be a powerful character that doesn't need no man.
Honestly, I want her to have the same kind of vibe many male characters have. She should be there because she has a sense of purpose, that she needs to be there and that she needs to make things right. Alucard didn't have any kind of love story going on in SotN, and yet he was still a very identifiable character, even though he's a vampire. He had a very personal connection with the cast, and very personal reasons for fighting, yet those personal reasons were also fueled by a sense of justice.

I don't know where this author of this article got 30 anyway. They didn't site a source. Edit: I have verified from Famitsu.com that the ages are correct with help from blackoak. It looks like 18, 30 and 30 are correct. See my post Playstation Article in the external articles section for links.

I'm really hoping for some sort of dramatic plot twist though like there was with Shaft in SotN. Something to throw us all off and shatter our preconceived thoughts. I wonder if the 3rd playable character that we have yet to meet with add a new dynamic to the story.

I'm calling it now. Gebel isn't the final boss. He's like Richter in SotN, Graham in AoS, or Dario in DoS. One of the game's endings that's the easiest to get is you beating him and that's it, that's the entire game. But then, if you explore thoroughly, you gain the means to work past him, perhaps taking you on a trip to the "other side", into the demon world, outside the castle, into a COMPLETELY alien environment as the true final area of the game. That would be cool. A third variant that causes you to get a bad end when going through the gate if you forget to equip some protective gear (like the talisman in DoS) optional. But it'd be nice to have, ESPECIALLY if you don't get the protective gear automatically (unlike in DoS), and have to explore MORE for it, even after you gain the means to unlock the gate itself.

nice, I like that... and the real boss appears and becomes pure evil and after that the castle appears where ever it can feed on evil, hate and misery in... either taking a new host as the master or the original evil incarnates itself when the castle appears... and this time the castle can travel where ever it wants as long as it has something to feed on.
can you imagine the castle appearing in Japan, China, India or America showing up in times of war, famine, or great oppression...

I would say Gebel is not the really bad guy there, he seems pretty similar to the "Evil Richter" on SOTN, he lost control because the curse. Maybe this first game just end at curing Gebel or before he dies he reveals something important to Miriam, like places and names she can go after to end the curse.
Probably there is a mastermind behind the scenes on all this curse thing and his plans are far higher than we may even think, like conquer the whole world using demonic powers. All this experiments on the people who have the curse seems to be very important, why did they do that to them, what was the true purpose behind it?
I just like to be surprised, let's wait and see the plot twists.

I predict there will be a bad end, and it will involve Miriam being consumed by the Magi-crystal curse, killing Gebel, and subsequently becoming the master of the castle. Ironic considering Gebel summoned the castle for Miriam specifically. The proper route will involve Gebel being saved by Miriam by utilizing a plot device granted to her by Johannes. The true antagonist will be revealed to be a surviving member of the Alchemist clan named NotShaft. NotShaft will escape into the Inverted Castle, which is located in the underworld/demon realm. After NotShaft is defeated, the real true antagonist appears, and he is the boss who manipulated NotShaft, and everything behind the scenes. Kill him, and GG.

I second this, and came here to write pretty much the same thing. Worst ending: Miriam becomes consumed by the curse and rules the castle. Gebel may or may not be dead. It's now up to Johannes... Bad ending: Miriam kills Gebel. Johannes dies somehow. The castle crumbles, but the ruins remain. Miriam looks at the castle ruins with regret. There may or may not be some foreshadowing about her curse becoming worse. Not-quite-as-bad ending: Miriam kills Gebel. The castle crumbles, but the ruins remain. Johannes lives. There's a scene with Miriam and Johannes looking at the ruins, possibly talking about hunting down monsters that may have survived. Good ending: Miriam frees Gebel from the curse (something about alchemy and some Enochian magic she acquires), and defeats the real final boss (a great evil tied to alchemy and the castle that lurks in another realm). The castle disappears. There's a scene with Miriam, Gebel, and Johannes watching the sun rise. They talk about using alchemy to rebuild and to show the world that it can be used for more than just destruction.

I would expect a traditional Castlevania style narrative using the characters and story elements explained up to this point, as for the rest it really isn't to difficult to fill in the blanks. While it will no doubt have an interesting narrative to keep us playing I think most people are more concerned with the gameplay elements.

I think it will involve being reborn or trying to become closer to the divine, or truth.

I always suspect the overly kind at first, so I have suspicion that Johannes might have more to do with convincing Gebel or plotting the rise of the Demon Castle in the first place. I'm excited to see what other characters we'll meet up in the castle.

yeah I was just going to say I hope they don't pull off the tired old the good ally is actually the bad guy and the bad guy is actually the victim 'twist'. About earlier in this thread, I personally don't care if miriam has a romance substory or not. But I object to the notion that just because if she has one means she 'needed' one. Why is it when a man has a romantic interest in a game it's a romantic interest, but if a woman has one it's supposed to mean something offensive. I mean if she acts like a useless tool and needs a man to do everything for her, ok yeah that would be annoying, but I don't think that's going to happen, and certainly wouldn't assume such just because the game had some kind of romantic sub-plot.
