Hello! I hope I'm not asking too rudely. English is not my first language and I have no Idea how to ask in a way that will not seem like I am demanding >_<
Anyways, hi guys, I'd like to request a Mod. I'd like to be able to lower the EXP I receive when killing enemies.
Right now i'm playing on hard mode and it's really awesome. It's challenging and fun! I really like grinding for materials and items but I also do not want to level up too fast. It would be amazing if you guys can make it so that we can configure how much EXP we get. Like all enemies having 20% less EXP or 30,40 or 50%. Heck, I'd even go for 70% less EXP.
Right now I try to limit myself from leveling up too fast, believe it or not I limit myself from killing too many enemies and load my game if I feel like I'm getting way too much EXP, I'm scared the game would get too easy. I love these types of games, I could spend hours grinding for items, crystal and equipment, it's just that I don't wanna grind and become over leveled unintentionally. I know I sound like going against what I'm saying haha.
I know Nightmare exists for this reason but being level locked kind of bums me out, ya know? There's just something to killing badies and gaining EXP then leveling up that feels good, I just want less of it. it's kind of hard to explain, but yeah.

OwloftheNight98: And on the case of Robert, in his defense, the church in that time period set a new standard for self-righteous a**holes, and I say that as Christian.

purifyweirdshard: As an organization in Iga's games, they've generally been more on the fictional side than historical

dareka: It's a bit more complicated than that. The church comes off as fictional in pretty much all Japanese games because there's nothing like it over there, so they don't really understand what it is. Their closest reference is 20th Century Imperial Japan.

purifyweirdshard: Yeah, Iga told me as much in person (about how they don't really understand it etc). It's almost like an interesting mythological thing/hook for character designs and plots.

purifyweirdshard: I always appreciate seeing it portrayed well though, or at least with people on both sides of it (good religious people and bad religious people)

dareka: Methinks I'll be doing a thread on the topic soon...

Redogan: Just saw another trailer for CotM 2. Release date: 2020-July-10. Nice. I know what I'll be doing that day.

OwloftheNight98: dareka I wouldn't mind such a thread. I, in particular, want to see a religious protagonist- who doesn't lose faith due to disillusionment or "God was evil all along!"- in a fantastical game setting, to see how would they handle the crazy stuff like this.

OwloftheNight98: AS LONG, as they're written well of course, I refuse to acknowledge half-A'd writing.

RichterB: While far from perfect, the CV franchise has been pretty decent w/ its idea of embattled Christian holy warrior versus evil personified. It's different from a lot of games in that regard. I realized over the years that's been part of its appeal to me.

RichterB: Decided to spend a good chunk of time on that fan art I mentioned. Getting close to the coloring phase. As I was composing it, Gebel and Gremory decided to join Miriam and Goofball...and then a Valefar reference snuck itself in when I wasn't looking.

RichterB: Question: When I'm done with this thing, do I just post it in the fan art section of the forum, or is there someplace I'm supposed to put it to be considered for a future Kickstarter email? (assuming that is still a thing with dev updates.)
Jun 29, 2020 0:40:22 GMT -6
purifyweirdshard: You can post it in the fanart section here. To be considered for an update is something separate, post it to a social media outlet with the #igavania tag

purifyweirdshard: Also, yes, that was a significant part of the appeal to me for Castlevania as well. I've been hoping to see some of it in Bloodstained. That was what my hope in Dominique was all about.

RichterB: purifyweirdshard, Thanks for the info. And sorry about Dominique. But there's always Pure Miriam, I guess? I think maybe the Castlevania animated series sort of misses that thematic beat a little bit. I mean, Sypha's no longer related to the Church at all.
