This characters design is actually VERY interesting with all the possible lore implications and the facIt that you get "at a glance" that he 100% does not mess around.
Filling that "old man" role IMO. He's quite beastly at the same time. The only thing about the character design that bothers me IS his armor. I hope its tweaked a bit before final release to fit a bit better with the overall design. Specifically his boots. As I posted in another character thread if he doesn't have an Omina vanitas expy I'll be surprised.
It could also be a plot device we haven't seen that makes this guy wear the coat loosely something like his arm unleashing a demon or something akin to Guts' Berserk armor
In the slightly side topic of fanservice. I dont mind if it fits the characters personality. I mean if I were that ripped id probably walk around with half a shirt too. Also "well what is it?" Hands up "come on" emote for this character is mandatory.

It's all good Ixbran. I don't even really think of that stuff when playing games. I'm never opposed to any character design as long as they're memorable for more than just that. Since he will most likely be in the prequel, I wonder how his character progression will be. He could go from serious to a bit more caring at the end, or it could be reversed and he'll go from a relaxed youth in the prequel, down to a serious "no nonsense" personality during Miriam's main adventure. I also wonder if they're going to use this specific design during the prequel, or in the main game. It'd be interesting to see how he got those scars in the prequel. Perhaps they'll show something else to indicate how time has passed for him? |

I use Pure Mirian picture but i like both designs of her. It is interesting the outcome of this topic. I know most of this discussion was just a bad interpretation, but i must add my 2 cents here.
Castlevania games, NEVER, EVER had ANY KIND OF 10% REALISTIC DESIGN. And that's great! What I THINK as a full personal opinion, is that i prefer Style over realism and badassism/cuteness over practical. A woman with a bare back, with her skin full of crystal looking like flowers of a multi-colored stained glass, dressed with an 18 century modified attire? i'm totally in.
A male with a bare chest, half arm armor, with ofuda all over the place, scars and a badass-looking red coat? i'm totally in.
I love badass, stylish, cuteness design, WAY OVER any kind of realistic or practical ones. So, for the record: I love all designs from all characters of Bloodstained so far.

Miriam is cute but I don't think she was really designed with eye-candy as the first thing in mind. Not even the 2nd thing. But yes, taking away this new character would be silly, I support not taking him away (even though I personally have no attachments). Thank you for not being hostile despite me being pretty confrontational, *salutes*. I was because I believe that nobody should ever shame anyone for thinking or liking certain things. Even the common/mainstream things that so many people bash because it's NOT politically incorrect to do so. I confronted you not because I think you are evil or whatever personally, but I think these kind of trend grows because people ignore it until too late. Of course, if this game was moddable, you can make him have even LESS clothes maybe! Or more muscles... or something, whatever you like! =P edit: Why does it say you tagged me instead of replied to me? I was kind of expected trouble, but if tag means report button, that really shouldn't be revealed to the person being reported. If you reported me though I wont hold it against you so no worries. I think Miriam is actually pretty hot--especially Pure Miriam for some reason. Maybe not designed with that in mind, but turned out that way all the same. |
