This was showed up on other part of the forum, so, some of you may not aware of this yet, but IGA was on gamescon, one of the largest computer and video game event. There, he talked a little about a cross-play feature that bloodstained will have on Windows 10 and XBox One. And also, showed this...  A Bloodstained new character. He's name is not decided yet (he is being called "Demon Hunter" for now). He showed up 10 years before the events of the main game, killing demons that appeared out of nowhere and apparently, he is a experienced Demon Hunter (so, demons could be summoned before the alchemist guild did what they did?) and is a dual-wielding fighter. Here's the link for the presentation What do you think of him? What role he will play? That Katana has anything special? (Maybe it's a "Demon Killer"?) |

I think he is essentially our Belmont stand in. I'm guessing he will be utilized in the same way Iga used the Belmont's in most of his games
, the wise badass hunter who kind of helps the protagonist along, until something happens that makes him unable to participate in the final battle. I'm really hoping he has a more brute force, attack heavy gameplay style with little to no spell or magic use. Basically he should be Bloodstained's Richter.

He gives off a bit of a Julius Belmont vibe. He looks like he'll go to any length to accomplish his goals. It does make me wonder about the different ways demons can get to the human realm though, and how the demons work in this universe in general. Are they more spiritual type creatures, or just physical beings of great strength/power. Maybe a mix of both? I feel he'll know about the glass stained curse, and won't care for Miriam/Gebel, maybe making him an enemy to us. (I can even see it as being an SA-X type situation with him chasing us around the castle from time to time). I am excited to hear more about this guy in the next update  |

I do get a Richter Belmont vibe from him....( the chest being shown is dumb though imo)
It's gotta be the case though because Katana is the strongest class in this game if you remember. So that sword is probably our VAMPIRE KILLER of this game.

IGA said he is dual wielding two swords and using Japanese ofuda spells. I think it is a great combination. This character is currently my favorite. I hope he is a playable character in both prequel game (based on the description that he is fighting demons that cane to Earth 10 years before the story in Bloodstained) and in the main game. I prefer to play as male characters, even though Shanoa was amazing. I cannot wait to see more artwork and get more information about this guy. It could be soon, in this months update.

I hope they have an alternate "Full Armour" costume for this guy. Always liked fully armoured playable characters. It's easier to picture yourself as the character that way, and I'd like to see how a fully armoured Demon Hunter looks like (I hope they don't all go bare-chested). I could see it being a more practical version of samurai armour that has his colour theme... possibly a combination of European plate mail and a Japanese Oni mask/helmet? (Possible Spoilers if you haven't played the original DMC series) Maybe something intimidating like Vergil's from DMC1&3?  I really love that armour design  |

Pretty interesting character, i like it, specially his right arm it seems to be sealed with all those seals, he might have am uncontrolable power hidden there. I am not sure what he is "wearing" on his right arm, or is it some kind of metalic arm? The fact of him being a demon hunter is already pretty interesting, did he hunt them for a long time ago? does that means he has more information about the demons and the curse? Hmm... i want to know more!

I'm hoping for another female character. I like the diversity and since it will have 2 player co-op (hopefully more I really like multiplayer) that would be a good option for people that might want to play and affiliate with the character. (also good for perverts!)

The pervert part was a joke, it was already apparent interest in man/men was an option simply from the responses in this thread. I'm not sure what you're getting upset/disappointed about.
"I like diversity" is not supposed to be some self righteous garbage but I personally like to see it because variant character designs. I enjoy seeing them, including when fans take gender swaps concepts into their own hands, it's just entertaining.
I still believe having the audience being able to affiliate better with their character can promote a good feeling to the game, if you disagree with that then we have different opinions.

He already has a bit of an eastern armour/prosthetic thing going on (not to mention he uses dual Katanas). The complete outfit could be all eastern Samurai armour, or a mix of Eastern/European armours. The helmet could be something like this: Or just the mask itself Instead of the helmet in my previous post because I agree that it wouldn't fit too well. In this way, he would be taunting the very demons he slays. I don't believe it could clash much more than the demons themselves would. What would matter the most is the colour palette they would use for it. (The spoilers on this reply are due to image sizes) It does make me wonder more about his default outfit though. I wonder if he plays more of a "glass-cannon" playstyle? Hard and quick hitter, but can't take too many hits himself? |

I actually agree with the barechestedness of this character because it accomplishes something, it shows you how heavily scarred he is and what the arm is without having to cram in the obligatory 'walk in while theyre changing' cutscene that you could have in anime (done well in trigun, fanservicey in some others), if he was armored or wore the coat normally hed look like some guy wearing a european military coat, some bits of samurai armor, and you wouldnt really be able to tell if he wore armor on his sword arm (not a bad idea btw) or had something going on with it. Now if that was just an armored gauntlet and he was mr pristine 8pack in all his pretty pretty hotness then it wouldve come off gratuitously fanservicy and id have to sorta agree on the pointlessness of him being barechested, i mean hes not  is he? >P |

Hey, bare chests need love too. It's not like Igavanias ever been strict about showing their armors. Hell, even Metroid has Zero Suit. That said, the guy does look like a badass. I really wonder what's up with his arm, if that is a magical prothesis and what are all the ofudas for. It seems like he might have some interesting powers. I was hoping for a scientist but I guess we won't have one. Aaaaand... But that led me to think what else we are missing. It's possible that there will be some demon linked to the crystals that either serves or tries to control Gebel, which would take loosely the place of Death. As far as playable characters go, we don't have an equivalent to the Belmonts. Johannes may inherit the whip, but he is in the quest for personal reasons, and being an alchemist makes him more of a mystic than a warrior. We don't have a demon hunter. I totally called it! Woohoo! |
