I'm not usually this much of a pessimist (and I still think the base roster is nothing less than dreamy), but I'm intentionally setting my expectations for the DLC as low as I can. For all we know, it could be four more Fire Emblem Awakening characters, followed by someone from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. If I go into it with this attitude, I can only be pleasantly surprised by whatever happens. By the way, interesting that there's no movement on Simon and Richter Amiibos, whereas even Ken is confirmed to be getting an Amiibo. There are a few other characters who haven't had their amiibos revealed yet either, like Dark Samus. I'm sure they're coming, I just think they haven't been finished yet. |

So much for the rumor of Banjo and Kazooie joining Smash at the Game Awards. Never played Persona so I'm pretty 'eh' about this. Not positive, not negative.
For the discussion about FE, considering that Smash tends to have promotional characters and FE has a tendency to be a part of that (Roy to promote his then unreleased game, Corrin for much the same reason), there is a real, genuine chance of a Fire Emblem Three Houses character to help promote a unreleased game.

Gosh. I'm not particularly interested in Persona 5 either, but if Reggie wasn't lying about the rest of the DLC fighters being this unpredictable, this is going to be one wild ride.

Honestly, Persona is another great soundtrack to play with, so while I doubt it'll get as much of a musical push as Mega Man or Castlevania, I would think it should get at least a half-dozen tracks between remixes and originals at minimum. EDIT: I just noticed...Atlus itself made the joke.

I um actually didn't even know I was making a joke, but saw the Atlus tweet later and pieced it together, I haven't played P5 lol. I'm so next level with puns, I can do them without realizing it I guess
It was REALLY just that unexpected lmao. I've had my brother's copy of the game for a while now and wanted to get around to it before too much longer, but now I definitely need to sooner. Only played P3 and P4A before, but I like those games. I pretty much prefer this over any/all of the "likely" ones. And yeah, I expect around a half dozen songs myself, and there will be a stage! I imagine also there will be other characters appearing in various references/additions too somehow, maybe spirits at least?

Upon think about it, I may have to go over the potential DLC list I have.
Nintendo is using the Spanish Inquisition mentality to their pics. Don't expect it, it may happen. Expect it and it won't happen.
Joker hails from the former branch hence the joke "never saw it coming." With that in mind as the MO for the other DLCs...
Miriam may not be opted out of the list. It may be a win-win for both Iga and Nintendo.
Iga will get to market his game on a global stage and Nintendo will promote not just the retro game we already have but also when Bloodstained comes out.
I'm still holding hope for a Soul Calibur 6 rep because, again, no-one expects it.
That's all I have at the moment.
